The protestations of the older man would've continued on throughout the cab ride to the hospital, but they were cut off— by himself— at the offer of more drinks and more spice. He wasn’t about to argue against that, especially since the man with the red hair could immediately pull them off the table. “Fiiiiiine…” he whined in reply, rolling his eyes and pouting in an exaggerated manner. “Yer nicer than mae ma a’bout this kinda thing. Whenever I’d get hurt, she’d just curse me out if Ai didn’t let ‘er put Bacta on.” He’d say, sniggering at the memories of her resisting the urge to wack him upside the head.
When the humans piped down for a bit, their cab pilot spoke up, adding, “The hospital quarter is a good 30 minutes from here— I can get you there in 15. If you’re going to drop dead in a few, I can just get you to a walk in clinic.” She’d explain, the usually cheery tone she’d put on during the job disappearing behind stone cold seriousness. It was quite unlike most Zeltron, and it was something Laeonas picked up on rather quickly. “Erm… Ai still think it’ll take me awhile ta die, thanks.” He replied, wrapping his arms around the man besides him tighter.
He enjoyed the warmth of the other man, something he hoped to be getting a lot more of as the night went on. There really wasn’t much more to it than that however. It was an added bonus that the person pressed against him was as fun to talk to as he was to look at. Still, any feelings beyond those were absent from his still beating heart. From what he’d heard, there should’ve been something else… and yet, there wasn’t.
These weren’t subjects that Laeonas enjoyed dwelling on. At the opportunity to change the subject, he took it immediately. “So, uh, you really made quick work of those wrinkly shites, eh?” Laeonas questioned, grinning up at the man. He’d chosen to rest his head against Senin’s chest, and it gave him a perfect position to address him from below. “And th’at little trick ya did with yer ‘ips, HA! Yet gonna ‘ave ta show me ‘ow ta pull th’at off.” He went on, recounting the scene that he couldn’t help find humorous in retrospect.
