Taris | 2300 Hours

"Classic Taris..."

Taris tended to rain at night, and this one was no exception. Konor was still new to being a vigilante. He had stopped a few robberies, and apprehended a few small-time imperial officials for the rebellion, but had done little else of note. The name "Mynock Man" wasn't something the evildoers of the ecumenopolis had come to fear, not yet at least.

Fully clad in his shatterweave armor, the man would be stealthily perched atop a ledge in a seedier part of the planet's first level. He had yet to see a crime, but there were a few sith patrols that passed by. Their numbers were far too large to take by surprise, and the alliance probably didn't want that many prisoners anyway. It had been a relatively unproductive night by all accounts.

Konor's helmet commlink would softly buzz to life as a call would come through. The voice of his droid butler would speak, "Master Konor, you've been out for several hours. You haven't moved from that spot either. I guessing it's been an unsuccessful night?" The man would give a long sigh, before responding in a deep voice, "Give me one more hour... If things are still quiet, I'll come home."

His commlink would turn off, and his attention would once again turn to the streets. The man would press a button on the side of his helmet, turning on his low-light vision. The streets were getting dark, just how mynocks liked to hunt.

Severus had been awaiting his chance to prove himself to the Sith Empire for a while. He was sick of being stuck at the rank of Acolyte when he had the power of a Champion. How much longer would it take for the Empire to figure out that he no longer cared for the Jedi? Severus thought had proven that when he killed two innocent Mustafarians back in Fortress Vader. Veles could attest to his power and strength, but he had been quiet as of late.

Today, hopefully, Severus would claim his place among the Sith by capturing a troublesome Rebel that paraded around the cities of Taris like a mad man. The name of the Rebel was...Mynock Man. Severus couldn't help but cringe. Mynocks weren't scary, and though the criminal underworld thought he was, Severus was a Sith. He was fear, along with rage and ambition.

Like the fabled vigilante, Severus arrived with his own suit of modified armor meant to strike fear into his enemies. The most notable part being his mask. Severus purposefully redesigned it to mimic the Sith Champion, Aziz. Aziz was a terrifying foe among the Empire and his untimely demise on Yavin brought great relief to the galaxy that he was gone. With Severus donning a similar mask with similar means of conquest, that fear would be once again rebirthed.

"Where are you hiding..." Severus muttered to himself as he patrolled the streets of the city, trying to find and follow traces of the Mynock Man so he could put an end to the Rebel's petty fearmongering.

A few more minutes would pass before the hidden vigilante would give another sigh. "Another quiet one..." he would mumble to himself. Two days without any chance to make a difference, or was there? The rebel was just about to stand up when he saw something out of place...

A darkly dressed man with a very unique helmet walked down the street. He had a certain look of power and determination to him, and... Was that a lightsaber? It very quickly became clear that this one was a sith. They were dangerous people to be sure, and huge priority targets for the rebellion. Most of the other imperial patrols had already gone home for the night, so they would probably be alone.

Even still, the man was some distance away, and it would be best to get into a more advantageous position. If the sith had training with that lightsaber, then the vigilante couldn't afford to fight up-close for too long. What he needed was to land a quick and decisive sneak attack. His stealth training would be pushed to it's limits on this hunt.

"3P0, prep the Mynock Cave's holding cell. I think I've got something for the rebellion." The droid would promptly respond, "Right away sir..."

Though he overlooked the sith walking by, the rebel wasn't in the most optimal position to attack. He would wait for the imperial to pass by, before taking out his SGG-50 Grapple gun and firing it toward another building across the street. Hooking the gun back to his utility belt, the vigilante would then swing across the open streets to the other side. He would quickly manage to hop to a building's rooftop, the grapple auto-winching as he did.

The target had continued moving, but the vigilante was at a much higher vantage point. He would crouch down before quickly moving across the various roof tops, stalking the sith below...

Severus could feel someone watching him, though the identity of whom was a mystery. The alley he had taken didn't have a single living being inhabiting it, so whoever was stalking the Sith was either a master of hiding in the shadows are was simply above him. Was this the Mynock Man? If so, Severus was going to play this situation to his own advantage. The lightsaber that he had brought with him was the same one that Veles had given him on Mustafar. It once belonged to Wookiee Jedi and garnished a blue blade, so as long as he didn't use any abilities related to the Dark Side, the Mynock Man could have a potential new ally.

The Sith Acolyte had stopped in the center of the alley and closed his eyes to think and feel the Force. He was no threat- or not yet, anyway. Telepathy was something Severus always had natural talent in, so he reached out to the creature who was watching him, tugging at their conscious.
Hiding and stalking in the shadows, are we? Show yourself, Sith, or be condemned a coward.

Hopefully, that would be enough to get response from this strange presence. If it was the Mynock Man, Severus would have struck lucky today. The quicker this mask vigilante was apprehended, the quicker Severus could rise through the ranks of the Sith as a Champion instead of a lowly Acolyte. He deserved more, and he was going to prove it.

The vigilante felt had was in a fairly dominant position. Anyone would have a hard time spotting a man in shatterweave two stories above them, especially if that man was wearing a helmet. The rebel was finally in an optimal position to strike, but just as he was... A voice spoke.

"What the--..." The man would whisper to himself, dumbfounded. Somehow, this guy realized he was there... Additionally, the voice called him a 'Sith'. That was strange, was this guy trying to imply he wasn't a sith? A man wearing a helmet and robles that were black as night, and carried a lightsaber. Could this really be a jedi. The vigilante didn't know for sure, but there was no sense in hiding if the stranger knew he was there.

Konor would raise the grapple gun from his utility belt once again, and fired the weapon at a much taller building in front of the force-wielder. Rather than having the line pull him, he would jump from the roof of the building and use the grapple line like a rope. He would swing through the air a couple meters above Severus before preforming a frontward roll to land softly on the ground. As he did this, the grapple's cable would retract itself.

Now, only a few meters in front of the new sith, was a man covered in dark gear. Konor would stand tall with two clenched fists at his side. He was more than ready for a fight if things went sideways. "You called me a Sith... But your robes are darker than any jedi's. Also, if you were a jedi... Then you'd already know I can't use the force."

Konor had never actually met the Jedi, but he had heard much about them.

And as Severus had guessed, the stalker showed himself but had revealed himself as none other than the Mynock Man. Luckily for Severus, the masked crusader hadn't had much interaction with Force wielders before. So far, everything was proceeding as he had planned, so he would take things to the next step. Trust. It was easier to kill your friends than your enemies because your enemies expect it while your friends would simply be literally and figuratively stabbed in the back.

"It is a simple and basic Force technique for one to hide their prowess with the Force. It is how Sith Lords blend into a crowd, making them extremely dangerous. So," Severus said, though his voice was heavily obscured by his voice scrambler making him sound like a deeper, more intimidating version of his true voice. He ignited his blue lightsaber and pointed the tip of the blade at the Mynock Man. "Who are you?"

If the Mynock Man had more questions, which he probably did, Severus was prepared to make his case clear and quaint. He once was a Jedi, and for the time being, the Acolyte still was. However, if a mutual trust between the two couldn't be forged, Severus was very okay with killing the man before him.

Konor was a man who was naturally suspicious, though his knowledge of the force was miniscule. He knew who the Jedi and Sith were, that much was for certain, and this guy was clearly a force user. Still, it was odd for this supposed Jedi to call him a sith, or imply he acted like one. "How many Sith lords swing around on grappling hooks? the Sith are suppose to be 'proud warriors' or something, everyone knows that..."

It would be then that he would see the light of the blue blade ignite. That was a jedi color, but there were still many unanswered questions. "Riddle me this. Why would a jedi openly carrying a blue lightsaber walk the streets of an imperial controlled world? That's not exactly under cover. One wrong move, and the entire planet's police force could come down on your head."

The masked man would step back as the force-user requested his name. Even if this 'jedi' was here to be a rebel, then he already showed incompetence by not sticking to the shadows. Hanging around someone like this would probably just get the vigilante caught or killed...

Severus sighed, taking off his helmet to reveal himself, deactivating his lightsaber in the process. "You're right. I'm not a Jedi. I used to be, but I found my path. However, I do not like the way my colleagues' paths interfere with mine." Severus looked defeated, partially as an act and partially because he felt defeated. "I don't care who wins this war as long a few fellow Sith lose. You have every reason to distrust me. I can sense the unease in you. We do not have fight each other, but instead I can point you in the right direction on who you may beat to a pulp."

The deal was simple, but the Mynock Man was a perceptive fellow, which is probably why he's done so well on Taris. Severus couldn't care less if the vigilante died, whether it be his hand or someone else's. After thinking about it more, he found that maybe his connection with the caped crusader could lead Severus to achieve higher status and power among the Sith.

"Or..." Severus placed his helmet back and kept his lightsaber at the ready. "I bring your head to my superiors and find another way to bring my enemies down."

So the vigilante's hunch had been right, just as he had suspected the man was a sith. A pawn to the accursed empire who treated this planet's populace like dogs. Death had skyrocketed on Tairs since the sith had arrived, and he wasn't about to let it get much worse. This man was like all the others, and needed to be stopped.

As the man finished his first sentence, explaining he wasn't a jedi... The vigilante knew what the other option was. He would immediately thrust his right arm forward, launching a launching a Vibro-repulsor Blade toward his foe's stomach at close-range. The throw had been enhanced by the weapon's internal repulsor tech, making even more dangerous than usual. Hopefully, the attack would catch the sith off guard.

"You're Sith. I don't make deals with your kind." Whether his first attack had been successful or not, the man knew he would need to follow up quickly with a way to restrain the robed figure. Raising up his left arm, a bola would then launch in an attempt to ensnare the sith where he stood.

"I'm going to make you pay for all the innocent people you've intimidated or killed."

Well, it appeared that the Mynock Man preferred having dangerous enemies over powerful friends. Severus was already awaiting an attack, but the vigilante's speed was unaccounted for, a rookie mistake by Severus' standards. If it weren't for his armor plates, the vibro-blade would've done severe damage. He felt a sharp pain race throw his ribs where the blade had struck him, but that was nothing compared to the brands he received. This was something Severus could manage for the time being.

"I'm afraid you feel that way, but do not fear. Eventually you will not be feeling anything." Severus hissed from behind his mask, cutting the bola wire in half with his blue bladed lightsaber that had ignited just in time with a quick snap-hiss. The saber was then poised to Severus' left side and with his right hand outstretched, he unleashed a stream of Force lightning directed for the Mynock Man. Regardless if it hit or not, it would give the Sith enough time move in closer with a quick upwards slash of his lightsaber.

"Intimidation is not a crime. Killing lawbreakers, like yourself, isn't either." If the vigilante had a counter up his sleeve, Severus was going to play it safe. As the Mynock Man had stated before, this entire planet was crawling with Sith troops. It was a valuable card to have in a game like this.

Sound Track

The vigilante's blade landed true with a 'clunk' sound as it pierced the armor. Unfortunately, the follow up attack wasn't so effective, as the sith's blade sliced the bola in half. He had never faced a sith in combat before, but now he needed to rise to the occasion. Those two were far from his only tricks, but his opponent would counter attack before that could be considered.

Before he knew it, a stream of force lightning would rip through the air and impact his body. The man would find himself racked with pain, and pushed back several meters by the force of the technique. The caped crusader would skid across the ground for a moment as he landed. The attack hurt, and all his muscles briefly contracted from it, but their battle was far from over.

As the sith ran toward the vigilante, Mynock Man had already unclipped a smoke grenade from his utility belt. While still on the ground, he would toss the device only a few feet in front of him. By the time the sith would arrive, the area would already be filled with smoke. Konor had heard rumors about how force sensitives didn't need their vision to fight, but surly this could buy him some time.

Using this brief moment, he would move backward on the ground briefly before getting back to his feet. Once there, he would leap backward ten meters from the cloud of smoke, preforming a backflip in the process. Jumpboots, gotta love em. At this point, spotting where the man landed would probably be a challenge, he was still wearing scatterweave after all...

As soon as the smoke went up, Severus used the Force to create a small shockwave that dispersed the smoke. But he was too slow. The Mynock Man was gone but hopefully not for long. With the small bit of free time he had, Severus pulled the vibro blade out of his chest, but held onto it. If the Mynock Man had disappeared for good, for the night at least, then Severus would use the blade to track down his target. Even if the ISB couldn't track down the manufacturer, Severus could use Psychometry to see into the blade's past up until it was created.

Or, Severus could track down his new enemy and kill him to get things over and done with. The Sith extinguished his lightsaber and lurked in the shadows down the alleyway. His mind was alert and ready for an ambush, but, Severus wanted the advantage. He raised both hands up and began pouring out the Dark Side into his surroundings, swallowing up the light and replacing it with darkness. The entire alleyway was pitch black, but Severus could see as clearly as ever.
"There is no need to hide. Fight like the warrior you pretend to be. Bring me to justice! Or don't. Either way, I will have your head."

A sigh of relief came up for a moment as the vigilante managed to safely land away from the sith. The caped crusader would be quick to dart behind a building's metal exterior, granting further coverage just in case. Of course, the foe would immediately begin looking around for the masked vigilante after licking his wounds.

Konor wasn't sure if this was a fight he could win, but he needed to show the galaxy that the Sith could be beaten. This was a better time than any. All of a sudden, the man would deactivate his lightsaber and would raise his hands in a strange motion. Was this some kind of crazy force power? An answer would come quickly as things began to get much darker...

There was an obvious solution to this situation, but it would take proper positioning to get it just right. Using his grappling gun yet again, Konor would latch onto the top of the building he was hiding under. As before he would use the gun's auto-winching feature to propel himself to the top as darkness slowly continued to consume the area.

Eventually, he found himself on top of the small building. The perfect striking opportunity would present itself...

First, the man would launch his grappling hook toward a building on the other side of the road, then connecting the device back to his utility belt. Following this, he would unlatch a concussion grenade from his belt and toss it down toward the sith's feet. On impact, it would create a powerful flash of light, hopefully distracting the foe.

Finally, Mynock Man himself would jump from the rooftop with a reared back fist. His shock boxing gloves had already had their limiters removed. Once in range, he would attempt to deliver a powerful punch as he swung downward toward the sith...

Whether this grand maneuver was successful or not, he would continue the swing toward the building across the road.

"I do what I must to give the people hope."

Overconfidence was an enemy Severus needed to conquer. The concussion grenade did it's job, disorientating the Acolyte heavily, and just before Severus had gathered himself again, an electrifying punch made contact with the back of his helmet. The HUD went berserk to the point where Severus had to take it off so he could see clearly but his ears were still ringing. This vigilante was not some bothersome Empire-hating rebel. The Mynock Man was a professional.

Severus tried focusing on his opponent, but there were currently three Mynock Man's instead of one. So, the Acolyte shut his eyes and focused on the Force. "I do not need my eyes to see you, vigilante scum." And with his blue lightsaber once again ignited, Severus prepared to go on the defensive. This way, he could still learn more about his opponent and his fighting style.

"You bring nothing but agitation to the Sith Empire. No one will miss you when you're dead." Severus hissed.

Everything had gone exactly to plan so far, with the electrically-charge punch landing true. The vigilante would preform a forward roll as he landed in front of the building. Unfortunately, due to the trajectory of his attack, the man would be unable to retreat to safety for a moment. Before his very eyes, the sith would bring out the blue blade once again, and curiously would close his eyes in the process.

At this point, the Mynock Man was running out of tricks, but the sith leaving his helmet off made him vulnerable. Not to mention the damaged chest armor from earlier. If the caped crusader was lucky, there may have been a way to get a few more strikes in.

While his opponent closed his eyes, Konor would grab a different object with each of his hands. He would pull another repulsor blade from his thigh-holster with his left hand, while his right arm reached for a stun gas grenade on his belt. His plan was the same as usual, misdirection.

"If your peers despise you so much, then no one will miss you even if you're alive."

The vigilante would then throw the blade through the air toward the sith, just as before. This time however, Konor was aiming for the wall behind the sith, attempting to bounce the blade off the wall and towards the man's back (thanks to it's repulsor functions). After the blade was thrown, he would then quickly toss the gas grenade toward the sith's feet. Hopefully, it would be enough to take the man down, or slow him down at least. The sith was proving to be just as resilient as the stories told.

Severus had heightened the rest of his senses by relying on the Force instead of his eyes. It was hard to explain, but he just knew were everything was. Though he couldn't depict color, he could depict shapes, and the familiar shape of the vigilante's iconic vibro blades flashed before the Sith. Severus was no longer taking chances with this man. It seemed that the longer the more fatigued Severus became.

But, the vibro blade missed- or so it seemed. Severus held his ground before ducking just as the blade flew at him in reverse, it's new target becoming the vigilante. The Mynock Man was clever, but now his weapons had been turned against him. But, there was something else the vigilante had thrown, and as soon as it's scent entered through Severus' nostrils, he used the Force to push the gas towards his opponent with his free hand.

With a lightsaber in the other, Severus leaped into the air, running along the sides of the alley's walls to gain more ground before jumping to the other to do the same. When Severus was within range, he did a somersault in the air, slashing his lightsaber towards the Mynock Man's shoulder. For some reason, this guy didn't use blasters, and his tech was basic yet, used in a way that him a superb fighter. Who was this man? Severus began to think that maybe he was better off alive for questioning and interrogation.

The Mynock Mad had expected his initial attack to miss, but he hadn't expected the sith to dodge the follow-up. Quickly, his own blade was turned against him, and the weapon would slash across his left arm before dropping to the ground. "Graah..." he would grunt in pain. He would grip his bleeding arm with his right hand, trying to minimize the damage just as the sith made his next move.

It looked like he was about the clear the smoke as per earlier, but the vigilante couldn't allow himself to be caught in it's wake. His armor lacked such protections against gases, despite employing the weapons himself... he would need to change that in the future. Using his jump boots, the man would once again leap down the street to avoid the incoming gasses. This move however left him vulnerable to the sith's follow-up play.

With a lightsaber in hand, the dark warrior charged directly at the caped crusader. At this point, there was only one weapon he had that could match the sith, and not one he was especially skilled with. His right arm would grab hold of a dark hilt in his other thigh holster. He would quickly draw the weapon from it's sheath, revealing a necrotic whip which would lash at the lightsaber. It's force would be just strong enough to bat the saber's blade away. Though the man's low level of skill with the weapon would probably be apparent.

With the man's bleeding left hand, he would then lunge forward, aiming to punch the sith with his unrestricted shock boxing glove again. He was an echani, and his martial arts training had always lead him to victory in the past.

An electro whip? How interesting...it was if the Mynock Man assumed he would be brining Severus in alive, if at all. The attack did work to the vigilante's favor, so instead of completely slicing the man's arm off, the tip of the blue plasma blade grazed across his shoulder. It didn't seem that the Mynock Man had practiced with such a weapon, a mistake he might never be able to fix depending on what happened next.

After Severus landed, the vigilante lunged towards him for a punch. Severus leaned to the left to avoid the blow, but the fist hit him directly in the chest- right where it hurt. The Sith snarled and swung his saber up into an upper cut to slash across the man's chest before coming back down again in an X. Then, to give himself some distance and time to gather himself, Severus pushed out with the Force, hoping to blast the Mynock Man far enough away.

"My name is Severus Creed. Remember it well..." Severus inhaled sharply. "You...you fight well. I do not want to kill you. But I am not surrendering to you either...In...in fact..." Severus held his a finger up as if to say 'One moment' so he could catch his breath. "In fact...I think a truce can be established." The fighting had given Severus many reasons why the Mynock Man should stay alive. Severus began taking a few steps back towards the end of the alleyway that led into the city streets.

"What if make a deal?" Severus then turned off his blade. He carefully grabbed his helmet and put it back on. It didn't seem to be fussing anymore, so it was working normally again. "A secret for a secret? I can name locations, and in return, you get to shut them down. In all honesty...I do not want anymore blood on my hands. You don't have to believe me, but if you have ever ended another's life, then would know how taxing it can be..."

The vigilante's blow landed true, but it came at a grave cost. The cost he feared this entire fight. He was up close and personal with a lightsaber. The blue blade would draw itself upward, cleaving through the man's fleximetal armor. The second attack would then follow, making a large similar mark. The man would stumble back in both pain and shock, just as a weave of force power blew him away.

The necrotic whip he held would deactivate as the man flew across the streets. His backplate would skid across the ground again as he was pushed. His injuries were now quite heavy, but the man still had some fight left in him. There was hope that the sith could be beaten, he'd come this far.

Grasping for breath, he would remain on the ground for a moment as the sith began a speech. classic sith move. Konor would slowly stand up, but was far more injured than before. This man was looking to make a deal with the vigilante, even after everything they had just been through. "I'm... Listening." The caped crusader would speak with a pause, giving himself some time to recover from the injuries.

Severus sighed with relief, "Thank you...I'm glad we can come to an agreement." He stated, standing up a little taller. "A few levels above us, there is an Imperial control center with logs and datacards on just about every officer, grunt, and Sith you can think of that's traveled to Taris. That includes prisoners." This was something Severus could never do. He was still considered and Acolyte, and poking around through archives before they went missing didn't look good.

"However...Like every archive, it is heavily guarded. But, as a man of your particular talents, I doubt that will be much of a problem. There should be a section labeled POW Insurrections. That is where you will find the locations of prisoners on Taris that fought back against the Empire. You want a rebellion?" Severus threw a security spike he had picked off an officer a while back, using the Force to guide it into the Vigilante's hands.

"This is your chance." Severus narrowed his eyes, paying close attention to what the Mynock Man did next. "There is a part we have to play in the Sith Empire. I have the role of the infamous and murderous Sith Apprentice. But that is not who I truly am. That is not who most of us truly are. The Sith offered freedom...but longer I'm apart of it, the more I feel a noose around my neck." He explained darkly. Sometimes Severus thought it was easier being an Acolyte because no one paid super close attention to you. Becoming a Champion offered more freedom, but more responsibility as well.

"I cannot assist you further...but, if you wish to, we can meet here for more dealings. Hopefully, with less violence." Severus bowed his head towards the warrior and placed his right fist over his chest. "What say you, Mynock Man?"
