The Sith hadn't made it this far without being killed because of his incompetence or his inability to fight. His blade was batted aside, and he was already repositioning. He used the momentum of her punching deflection and added it to his own as he leapt backward and to the side, her follow-up swipe passing so close to him that it singed the edge of his cloak that hadn't yet cleared the swing zone.

His left hand thrust outward, emitting energy from his hand in the form of a push designed to send her hurdling backwards and into the far wall.

Vanya, was having slightly more luck if only because her opponents were not Force-users themselves and thus lacked much of the speed or skill of the opponent her partner was facing.

The cultist who had just come for her moments earlier came for her again, but this time she was ready. She reached out to the Essence and yanked the rear cultists forward so that he slammed into his partner.

Then, with a single motion and no hesitation, she lashed out with the butt-point of her spear and let the Essence flow through her, suffusing her body. The spear tip passed through both men cleanly, leaving them to fall to the ground... alive for the moment, but badly wounded.

They seemed to think better of attacking anymore, and one stumbled for the door while the other just lay there, allowing Vanya to begin focusing on helping her partner with the real threat.

Rair, on your left, she declared, not that her partner needed to be able to see her. That was the beauty of Force Sight as it turned out, but it never hurt to actually give at least the most basic coordination.

The Sith's transition didn't lack for skill, managing to translate his dodge into offense with seeming ease. Rair felt the push slam into her and stop her momentum before sending her spiraling away. Her offense taken instantly, she refused to let herself land on the back foot. Instead, she rolled into the blow and straightened out. This meant she slammed into the wall with some force, but by getting her feet positioned right, she was able to push off of the offending structure and lunge back.

Grimacing in pain, the Jedi enhanced her speed so, like a lightning bolt, she sprung off the wall and covered the distance in a heartbeat, both blades facing out to impale her opponent while providing a narrow form so Vanya had options to swing above or below her without any real concern for her safety.

Vanya and Rair moved surprisingly well together as they assaulted the Sith. She swung high, over her partner's head, while the other Jedi went lower with her sabers flashing out.

The Sith blocked Vanya's strike and tried to step aside from Rair's, but with no success. One blade he managed to avoid, but the second slammed straight through his belly, pinning him to the wall behind him and tearing through his side as he fell to the ground. It was a grisly display, but one that Vanya had seen worse than.

She could feel the life drain from the man over the course of several seconds, and she simply stood there for a time, her face grave and serious. He had chosen his path, and Vanya wouldn't grieve for him, but she also didn't celebrate his death. It simply... was.

You are unhurt? she finally asked after a moment, looking to the other Jedi.

The pin came with some effort, Rair's body slamming into his as she sunk her saber hilt-deep into his stomach and her feet barely managing to find the ground below her before she fell. With a wince, she spun back, her free weapon slicing across the man's neck to sever it from his shoulders and end his pain. In the same fluid motion she unsheathed her splitshoto from him and turned off both blades.

He wasn't going to survive the wound, so letting him live was just cruel. The knight had no intention of being cruel.

"Just... a bit out of air," she managed to get out before dropping to one knee and cringing. "Thanks for the help. Sorry for taking so long." She felt bad her ally had dispatched so many when she had struggled with one, and knew at least in part that her attempts to get him to surrender didn't help.

Not that she intended to change her ways.

Vanya glanced back at where the other wounded man had fled, and realized they should probably call the authorities. He wouldn't get far now, and the medcenters could look out for him.

No, you had the much more difficult fight, she said. It took two of them to bring the Sith down. He was the "main event" as it were, and that was far more than a few thugs or cultists that she had had to deal with.

She moved over and sat, cleaning the blood off of the axe as she caught her own breath.

Would you like to notify the authorities to look for the other man? she asked. They had three dead, one wounded and on the run, and no doubt security forces that would want to have a look into everything including this place.

"We should alert them," Rair stated as she straightened up and flexed a bit, feeling her back settle into place. It felt like the whole surface was one bruise. "Though not tell them about the mind control. Do you have any... spells to break that? That they sought to interfere in elections is likely enough information."

There was, of course, still the rituals they weren't certain about. Even the controlling rituals had an endgame they could only guess at.

"I wonder if there's any records of the rituals here," the young Knight wondered out loud. She didn't make a move to search further in. If they brought security forces here, they could likely gain access to the information without stepping on any toes. She didn't like to play diplomat, but... well, she did say they should try to not upset the locals.

Reaching down, she picked up the Sith's lightsaber and examined it. The crystal, of course, had been bled, but the components of the blade were functional, if in need of modification should another wish to use them. Turning towards Vanya, she held out the weapon in offering. "The Kyber will need cleansed, but this victory is owed to you. Assuming you don't just favor your own weapons."

The Dathomiran's culture had been invaluable in this case so Rair was hardly going to judge the other Jedi for her use of the more traditional weapons.

Vanya shook her head. No, I do not, she said. We should inform the Council and let them decide how to handle alerting the local authority, she suggested.

She wasn't the diplomat either, but she knew there were Jedi who were. They could sort out the other details, and with any luck, the threat had been neutralized.

The other Jedi handed her the weapon, and she looked down at it, holding it in her hands for a moment. Thank you, she said, unsure what else to say. The fact was that without the other Jedi, there would have been no one to hold off the Sith.

The victory belongs to both of us. Neither could have done it alone, she corrected after a moment.

She pressed the ignition and the saber burst to life in her hand. Even with the crimson that seemed to scream in pain in the Essence, it was an astounding weapon to behold. She pressed the button again and the blade flashed out.

Come on, we should report our findings, she said, and would head back to give their report of all that had transpired. Sith and cultists after all.

Rair nodded along with the other woman's decision. She would have liked them to make the call rather than running to the council, but Vanya wasn't wrong. After all, these were extraordinary circumstances with rare uses of the Force and a potential plot that was best handled by experienced minds, not two young Knights.

"Wise counsel," the Miraluka said with a smile. "And if you need any help with constructing your own lightsaber, let me know. I would be happy to offer a few pointers." With nary another word, she followed the Dathomiran to complete their mission, satisfied that, for now, they had done all that was required of them.

That her fellow knight got a little something more out of the encounter and they would see a crystal cleansed of its torture was just a ribbon on top of it all.
