I suppose it's an assumption on my part. They already created a galactic map populated by plenty of planets. If they allow custom planets someone will have to be in charge of plugging them into the official map which will be a pain and a half and then all the factions would have to do to win is make up as many planets as they could to more densely populate their star systems.

Actually the staff don't really add player created planets to the map. If a planet is created they often list the grid coordinates so people would know the grid square the planet itself is in if it were actually on the map. However, planets themselves are more likely to be denied if there is already a canon planet that serves a similar purpose, similar geography, ect.

I have not heard officially about fanon content devices. I would advise that people come into this with an open mind - there are plenty of interesting characters and planets to chose from in the event that they do decide to now allow it. I understand that lots of people have already put in the work, but the admins made it pretty clear that you work outside the sure parameters announced in the timeline announcements at your own risk. Even this thread here is just a planning thread - characters could be upped, downed, and turned around with a new rule on the site or faction level (they won't, i promise, but they COULD).

I will tag @Green Ranger to make sure we haven't missed some sort of decision on fanon devices, though.

So just a quick question, because I am infuriatingly torn between the Jedi and the Senate. Would a Feeorin or a Gungan fit anyone reasonably in the Senate at this moment?

I was torn between these two as well. But I chose the senate. There wouldn't really be a place for a gungan in the senate. At least not a Senator. Naboo isn't in the Republic or Boarder Alliance. You could make a Gungan who is an ambassador though. However Odryn which wiki says is the Feeorin's homeworld does appear to be within Republic territory. So you could make a Senator from there.

WELL SIGN ME RIGHT THE HELL UP. Feeorin Senator would be insane, since Odryn is just...man, that place is a wreck. It'd be fun to try and incorporate that planet into the Senate.

I really hope there's more active senator characters than what Dmitri's poll suggests cuz I'd love to see an impactful aspect to the roleplay like this. I really don't yet understand it/can't visualize what that'd look like, but I'm really excited to see it be an important part of the timeline.

Would be cool if at some point a senator loses reelection against another player in a pvp debate or whatever. Then thenlosjng Senator joins the BA or works to gain his spot back next round somehow.
