Invasion of Yag'Dhul

Galactic Civil War

Yag-Prime.JPG

Yag'Dhul Invasion Mission Pack

Yag'Dhul is the home of the Givin and led by a mathematocracy. The mathematically inclined Givin were once part of the Galactic Alliance, hosting an embassy on Coruscant. However, the embassy is in ruins and the Galactic Alliance is no more. Though fear spread in the Givin Domain that spreading imperial border would reach them, they were protected unintentionally by an unlikely source: the Hutt Cartels and the Bacta Crisis. With the Hutts controlling Bacta, the territorial invasions halted, Thyferra blocking way to Yag'Dhul.

However, Thyferra has fallen, now in the hands of the New Sith Imperium. With Yag'Dhul and Yag-prime situated in the cross-hairs of the Rimma Trade Route and the Corellian Trade Spine, it has become an important target, capable of moderating traffic in and out of the New Sith Imperium. The wolfs of war have awakened and Yag'Dhul has become its prey. The New Sith Imperium has sent half of the 6th Fleet under Lospheira Fi's command to annex Yag'Dhul and its Body Calculus. Though most of the Givin people care little of galactic politics, its military seeks to resist the fleet's wrath.

Zugzwang
Note: This serves as prologue to the rest of the invasion.
To secure the border and prepare for the invasion of Yag'Dhul, several imperial infiltrators accessed the planet's sensory array and connected it to their own, allowing the Imperium to spy on traffic and spoof data. Unfortunately, the team that stayed on the planet has gone quiet. It is suspected they may have been found out or inaccessible. As such, an advanced team pretending to be with a bacta shipment will arrive on the planet and reach the imperial outpost in order to spoof the Givins' data in order to make a fleet appear as though it is coming from the other side of the system, allowing the 6th Fleet to enter the system uninterrupted.
OBJECTIVES:
  • Infiltrate Yag'Dhul and sneak away from the bacta loading bay undetected
  • Reach the outpost and enter the command protocol supplied by Fi
  • Optional - Find out what happened to the advance team
  • Optional - Ward off an attack from Givin loyalists
ASSIGNED:
  • N/A

Crushing Alekhine's Gun
The Body Calculus, the mathematocratic governmental body of Yag'Dhul, is led by a Dodecian. The current one is former Senator Oran Ilisid. Upon receiving word, of an attack by the New Sith Imperium, he had holed himself in the Givin Senatorial Tesseract, the fortified embassy formerly housing the senatorial delegations. Ilisid is now using it as a bunker to hide and coordinate military efforts between himself and his military advisers, who are located at the capital and Yag-prime. The dodecian is the rallying figure for the Body Calculus, motivating the meager Givin forces against the invaders, despite the numerically superior imperial fleet. Neutralizing Oran Ilisid would take away that morale and put their coordinated efforts to disarray. Capture and turn Ilisid could even placate the Givin people. Unfortunately, Ilisid and the Tesseract won't be taken lightly. Defended by two military-grade turbolasers and the compound armored, aerial assault is risky without destroying the compound and those inside. As such, two teams have been sent to raid the Senatorial Tesseract and deal with the Dodecian, Oran Ilisid.
OBJECTIVES:
  • Raid the Givin Senatorial Tesseract
  • Capture or kill Dodecian Oran Ilisid
  • Optional - Neutralize turbolasers
  • Optional - Shut down communication network
ASSIGNED:
  • N/A

Empress' Gambit
Note: Naval and starfighter combatants only.
Yag'Dhul offered only one vessel to the Galactic Alliance's struggle at Alsakan, only to have it destroyed. After that, the rest of the Givin Domain Fleet remained in this sector. Small it may be, it can be a nuisance. As such, the Body Calculus' sensors were spoofed in order to give the illusion a fleet was coming in from the south, from Wroona. Admiral Scoritoles aboard the Wavecrest led the Givin Domain Fleet to intercept the phantom fleet. Amassing to the other side of the system, the 6th Fleet was able to reach Yag'Dhul and Yag-prime easily. However, the deception did not last long. Warned by Dodecian Oran Ilisid, Admiral Scoritoles is leading his armada back to the planet to fend off the imperial fleet. Aerial assault on the Imperium's invasion of the planet could harm operations underway. As such, two Imperial-class Star Destroyers will need to combat and prevent the Givin fleet from reaching the planet, both from the maneuvers of capital ships and the dog-fights of its TIE armaments.
OBJECTIVES:
  • Prevent the Givin Domain Fleet from reaching and attacking Yag'Dhul or Yag-prime
  • Defeat the Givin Domain Fleet
  • Optional - Infiltrate Wavecrest and capture or kill Admiral Scoritoles
ASSIGNED:
  • N/A

Ultimate Spear and Ultimate Shield
Land troops managed to breach Yag'Dhul's atmosphere before the Body Calculus realized truly what was happening. However, the Body Calculus has raised Yag'Dhul's planetary shields. Attacks from Yag-prime and the Givin Domain Fleet are limiting the 6th Fleet's capacity to bombard the shields until they drop. As such, a team has been sent to Illiet Military Base, where the primary shield generator is seated. The shield must go down so the troops on the ground can receive reinforcements and allow the 6th Fleet to strike any land-based defenses.
OBJECTIVES:
  • Raid the Illiet Military Base southern quadrant containing shield generator compound
  • Shut down planetary shields
  • Optional - Raid rest of Illiet Military Base
  • Optional - Capture Illiet Military Base commander
ASSIGNED:
  • N/A

The Fight for Yag-prime
Yag-prime is a dangerous Empress-class space station orbiting Yag'Dhul. Having survived several battles and lasted for centuries, Yag-prime is both a relic and a threat to be reckoned with. Armed with turbolasters and hosting three squadrons, it is harassing the 6th Fleet and has been resisting invasion. However, the docking port has been seized, allowing imperial forces to flow into the space station. Yag-prime must be captured, preferably in working order. With communications with Dodecian Oran Ilisid down, Yag-prime commander Foahl has declared himself the new Dodecian and is leading the struggle against the 6th Fleet.
OBJECTIVES:
  • Capture Yag-prime
  • Capture or kill self-proclaimed Dodecian Foahl
  • Optional - Neutralize turbolasers
  • Optional - Stop Yag-prime for crashing into the planet below
ASSIGNED:
  • N/A

Funny enough, I did a story thread on Yag'Dhul, nearly got it completed, but unfortunately the Indie faction running it ran out of juice in the end. Will give these a better read over to decide specifics, but consider me interested.

What Indie faction? Link to thread?

Also, this event is open to both Imperial Armed Forces (stormtroopers, pilots, etc.) and Sith.

Rendili Raiders. The mission was called The Yag'Dhul Conspiracy, and involved the Raiders and Jedi working together to thwart a bomb plot instigated by Givin xenophobes. Actually went on a while, but again, just ran out of steam by the end, especially with internal faction issues (and my own inconsistent posting rate not helping).

I'm interested in this, but with the only caveat being that massive group threads and me (not to mention my backlog) don't really mesh. If one of these missions ends up having maybe 3-4 total writers in it, I'd be glad to participate.

Will these count as missions? Also, may acolytes apply for these?

Thirteen would be Honored to join the front if Acolytes are indeed permitted.

I would like to sign up my stormtrooper Cristo Morrell for either Crushing Alekhine's Gun or Ultimate Spear and Ultimate Shield.

Not just the raiders, but the Jedi hold an interest in it also.

If this is gonna be like Christophis 2.0 then I'm going to withdraw my interest, no offense. It might be for the best anyway, I've got a lot to do.

I mean the Jedi held an interest for Yag'dhul. Otherwise, this party is new news to me.

Well now if the Jedi visit the planet again, you all just have be even more subtle than the last time when you see Imperial banners flying all over the place once the invasion is over. :bitchez

Sorry GABA I couldn't resist no malice intended, just all in good nature.

Not to be a hard ass or anything, but---

Keep in mind that the problems with Christophsis were in the planning (stemming from miscommunication) and those that were generated by individual players (to remain unnamed, thank you). Christophsis has a terrible reputation and turned a lot of people off of PvPing, yes. However, in truth, it shouldn't have had that effect. Bringing it up any time that PvP is an option is a bad idea--- it makes the thread a sort of bogey man or haunt.

Not singling you out, Bee (<3), just trying to make my point clear to the public.

There's a terrible lack of interplay between the factions, and players. A lot of people don't seem to be willing to risk anything right now. Some have low opinions of the current state of affairs. It's important to remember that your positive attitude is what affects the outcome of any thread you join or create. An emphasis on collaboration with others, even when you're competing IC, will go a lot farther for you than staying focused on just yourself and making one small victory.

Let's keep it positive, learn from past mistakes, and make it fun.

If anyone ever has any concerns, no matter from which faction, I'd be more than happy to help. Facilitating these interactions between factions is one of my top interests.

The Fight for Yag-prime will have the largest amount of slots, so likely that one, unless there's a lot of interest and we add another thread, taking place at the capital.

It would depend. Most will. If an acolyte manages to obtain a duel (of decent quality and quantity), it can be serve as a duel prerequisite for advancement (pending review).
Can Acolytes apply?

Thirteen would be Honored to join the front if Acolytes are indeed permitted.
Anyone of any rank, be they of Imperial Armed Forces or Sith, may partake in the Yag'Dhul Invasion.

Yeah, I didn't realize Jedi have interest in the planet when this was devised. Could make way for an opportunity for a skirmish later on.

It will not be. There will be no Jedi popping out of a hat. Only bunnies. Evil bunnies of hell. Like the one from Caernnabog, but eviler.
