Star Wars Legacies: The First Battle

Something all of the faction leaders unanimously agree upon is that the most important thing to focus on in this timeline is a good story and having fun. One of the ways of doing this is to always have a lot of different types of important story-related threads going on as opposed to having the battles drive the timeline—there will, of course, be battles, but they will be driven by the story, not vice-a-versa.

In order to help set up that idea right in the beginning, as well as to differentiate the beginning of this timeline from previous timelines, the faction leaders have opted NOT to start off the timeline with a battle. There will be a battle soon, but it will not be the first event.

Although I don’t want to give too much away, as the faction leaders are currently planning for this battle to take place sometime in the near future, it involves a group of Imperials who will become the Imperial Rebels officially breaking away from the Empire to join the Alliance, sparking the war that will put the combined forces of the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order against the Empire. The Mandalorians and the Chiss will also have a battle around the same time, which the Imperial Knights might participate in.

So what will happen in the timeline before that? Quests are currently being developed in the admin board in order to get at least one for each faction up within the next few days or by the end of a week. Additionally, the factions will be putting up missions—not just "busy work" missions, but missions that have value to the story—for characters to go on. Some of these missions will help lead us towards the first battle, setting the stage for the war to begin.

The faction leaders are doing a great job working together to help put together a fun and engaging timeline together for everyone, and I’m really looking forward to seeing these missions get started so they can lead us into the outbreak of the war!

Does this mean that I might have to rework my Imp Reb's story of how he defected to the Alliance? He basically just led a mutiny aboard a Star Destroyer.

You may have to, yes. Basically, there are no Imperial Rebels yet, at least not in terms of an official group. You could have defected on your own and you could join the official Imperial Rebels group later, but if you defect with the main group then you may have to change it.

Would it be plausible, considering the peace between the Alliance and Empire, that a Jedi Knight would be placed at an Imperial base or garrison or something like that that was part of the main defection? Though I don't want to alter Artix's mutiny scene that much, I could make use of my Raccoon Jedi Knight(assuming he's accepted as a Knight)that was originally planned as a reserve character, but could be used for just this once.

The Sith have ruled the Empire for 9 years, so there is no peace between the Alliance and the Empire. They both know war is coming, it's a question of when not if.

I'm sorry if it runs afoul of your plans, but that is the risk you take when you make detailed plans before you actually know the details of the timeline.

Like I said, though, you can always defect on your own in your backstory and join the actual Imperial Rebels group later.

When I brought it up in the Hall of Leaders, I worded it as "a mass migration of Imp Rebels". There were probably Imperials who were defecting starting when the Sith took over, but the official establishment of the Imperial Rebels would be with this major event.

Well, his mutiny takes place like, the day after the Sith take control. And the rest of his bio is assuming the Empire is not controlled by the Sith yet. It's likely I'll have to rework the whole profile accordingly.. or maybe even scrap the whole character. Either that or just start him out as an Alliance soldier, and I don't wanna do that at all... ugh.

I'll have to do some renovations on him.

If any of you have ideas for how I can fix him to fit the timeline.. I would be eternally grateful.

Ok. I've found a solution. All I have to do is age him 9 years, and he'd still be relatively young as I'd like him to be. He does his mutiny in 1,002 ABY, and 9 years later, he and the Rifles joins the Imp. Rebs who then join the Alliance, and they are renamed Hero Squadron.

All is well, and my mind is at rest!
