Setting: Modern day Las Vegas. Sometime around January
Background: Several months ago a global pandemic was suddenly unleashed upon the world. The last of the news casts traced the origin to somewhere in South America, with no mention of progress towards a cure. Billions are dead, but you're not, not yet anyway. You play the role of a survivor in the wonderful sin city. How long can you survive?
Rules:
1. I am the GM of this thread. I lived in Las Vegas for eleven years and I know a lot about the city. My word is final but I will entertain an appeal if you make the request respectfully. I am not disrespectful and I expect not to be disrespected. If I feel disrespected, I reserve the right to strike your character with lightning and eject you from the game.
2. Zombies are not your only concern. Thirst and hunger will be real concerns. Dehydration, severe sun burns, and heat stroke are very common in Las Vegas.
3. Zombies are faster and stronger at night. Keep this in mind.
4. There will be bad weather, hostile npcs, mutations on zombies, and other encounters.
5. The virus can not be cured but if enough players join I will allow the creation of a vaccine, but it will be difficult to create.
6. Plausible inventions will be considered. I will create a separate thread in the diverse OOC section for you to submit any inventions you come up with. Detail is your friend with me. Don't worry about tl;dr because I like to read.
7. Please add depth and emotion to your characters as you rp.
8. Characters do not need to be approved but sheets do need to be created in a separate OOC Thread I will create. You may use this basic template to create them.

9. You absolutely start out by yourself. You can not start in collaboration with another player. You can have up to two npcs under your control when you start out. You must start at least 10 miles away from another players location. If you make a B line straight for another player you will encounter heavy resistance.
10: Players can meet and interact. If you plan to attack another player in an ambush, message me the details of your plan of attack. I will take the necessary steps to ensure it is fair for both players in pvp encounters.
11. Players can not form groups or rest together until we have at least twelve players. At that time I will release further rules regarding player groups.
12: A turn will consist of three rounds. These rounds will be morning, afternoon, and evening. The morning round will span the hours of 5 am to 11:59 am. The afternoon round, 12pm to 7:15pm. Evening round will span 7:16pm to 4:59am I will begin a turn by announcing Day X: Morning. Then you will have approximately three days to post your characters activities for that day. You are encouraged to use multiple posts as I may throw in obstacles or events at any point in your post. Scavenging requires a check that I will perform. Your first post in the morning round must include the following template.
Gear equipped:
Items carried:
Last shelter used:
Items stored at last shelter:
Be sure to detail how the items are stored and if they are concealed in your to as well as when filling in the template.
I will call for final posts before I end a turn. Your final post in the evening round must include the following template:

Items expended this round:
Equipment found this round:
Equipment lost this round:
