The cold gaping air whistled across the dead dueling ring lying before the towering dark figure moving at a slow pace through the entrance to the arena. The clouds were a evil shade of black and seemed to growl at those dwelling below them as if they were contemplating the death of every man women and child below them. With a loud clap of thunder, raindrops began spiraling down from the sky, pattering heavily onto everything below the cloud from whence they came.

Slowly, the dark figure standing within the ring came to a halt, his robes covering his body almost completely. The rain seemed to be quite soothing as it pounded on the fabric that made up the dark black robes, dampening them to some length.

Another clap of thunder rung out across the city, causing the rain to pour down heavier and heavier until it was almost as thick as fog in front of ones eyes.

This duel would be no easy battle; yet it was a battle Zeak believed he could win

His opponent was a Jedi, a skilled one no doubt, this was possibly the only piece of information Zeak had gathered about the one whom would be included in this duel, although, the weather was definitely the strongest of the obstacles both participants would face through the duration of the fight.

Zeak continued with his thoughts, staring blankly at the entrance on the opposite side of the arena, awaiting the arrival of the other.

Battle was upon him.

T’Truht stood there, as still and as calm as a pillar, both body and mind centred, held, within the Force. His hat rested upon his head, his robes upon his body, and his lightsaber was held in one large, hand. Reaching up, the Whiphid drew the conical hat from his head, throwing it above him, into the air, to hang on the chandelier above. Rain poured down in a great cascade, amongst the buildings of the abandoned city T’Truht had encountered his opponent in.

There was a snap-hiss sound, as T’Truht ignited his lightsaber.

The iridescent green blade shone, amongst the dark, damp rain. A city block loomed above, some abandoned flat in this ghost town. “I have given you your chance of surrender,” T’Truht boomed, despite the noise of the rain all about. “You have spurned it.” T’Truht swung his blade around in a figure of eight, the torrential downpour soaking his robes and body. A flash of lightning blasted down from the sky behind him, lighting up the world around. “This ends here.” The Whiphid roared, his open mouth showing his Whiphid fangs.

The battle rage was upon him.

He would control it, he would not allow the Dark side to take over him as it had taken over his adversary. He had control; T’Truht had the wisdom to know that the Dark side would not avail him, nor would it avail his opponent. With another roar, T’Truht stepped one foot forward and assumed the defensive initial stance of Soresu; his natural form, Djem So, would follow later.

Later, when the battle began in earnest.

Zeak almost grinned at his opponent as the beast moved into what looked to be the opening stance of Soresu.

His hatred for the Jedi and their ways would only further his strength in this battle, it seemed appropriate to use his proffered form; Ataru. Of course, his second form would come in use later in the battle. For now, the offense was up to him.

Swiftly, Zeak outstretched his right hand, pulling his hilt off the belt strapped around his waist with the force; gripping it tightly as it came into contact with his palm. And in an instant, the red blade erupted from the crystal within. Drops of rain instantly began sizzling on his saber, turning into nothing but steam instantaneously.

With a slow pace at first, Zeak began the long journey to the other side of the arena, his body moving quicker and quicker by the meter until he burst into a sprint, lightsaber held in a backwards grip in a somewhat basic move against his opponent. As Zeak drew near, he swung a very wide and heavy blow in his enemy's direction, his cold eyes seemingly turning a cold shade of green as his opponents lightsaber illuminated the black within them.

With the long run up, his opponent had made it painfully clear to T'Truht what he was going to do. The jump at the end meant that he was committed to one straight strike upon T'Truht, and blocking it would be pointless when there were other methods, other methods that would further the fight. T'Truht leapt to one side, rolling away, allowing his opponent to make his leap and land where T'Truht had been.

Then it was T'Truht's turn.

The thunder clapped, the lightning struck, the arena was lit up in a ghostly white colour as T'Truht leapt at his opponent, switching to his preferred form Djem So, bringing an uppercut from beneath his opponent's lightsaber to strike it out from above - perhaps even loosening it from his opponent's grip.

T'Truht swung his blade upward with a smash.

If the blade was knocked out, a quick riposte from his blade would see his enemy beaten.

Zeak's opponent had timed his attack perfectly. The flash of lightning seemed to make everything slower for a split second, and in the split second it was painfully clear Zeak was about to take quite a blow.

As both lightsabers clapped against one another, a painful hissing shot out across the arena, green and red blending together to make a hybrid color. The force of the blow was too much, his opponents strength had smashed in with the uppercut unto his lightsaber; which in turn was sent upward into the air, instantly dissipating the blade from the hilt. Zeak cussed under his breath as the hilt was lost from his sight.

This was problematic.

Zeak was disarmed in close combat with his opponent, the obvious next move was for his opponent to finish him off, yet Zeak had an idea.

A split second after his mind was fixed on his objective, Zeak smashed the ground with all the force energy he could muster, creating a small explosion of dirt and kinetic energy, sending Zeak into the air, his opponent concealed in a cloud of dust.

As he landed Zeak threw off his over coat, his eyes scattering across the arena in search of his hilt.

The dust and gravel flew up off the arena floor, clouding T'Truht's vision and mind for a minute as he struggled to clear his vision. Feeling for the Force, used that to guide him, leaping out of the cloud to take stock of his bearings. His opponent was attempting to retrieve his lightsaber, to start the fight over again. Time to stop that.

T'Truht reached into the Force.

The hilt of the lightsaber was about midway into the arena, and T'Truht gave it a push through the Force as he leapt into the air to land about ten feet behind his searching opponent. Igniting his lightsaber and holding it straight out from his chest, he reached out through the Force and pulled his opponent towards him.

If it worked, his opponent would be impaled.

Zeak felt the grip around his figure and knew there was no way of breaking it at this point, swiftly, he sent out his left arm and did all he could to slow his enemy's pulling speed.

Thankfully, there was another option.

Whilst his opponent had begun the pulling maneuver, Zeak had spotted the shining silver hilt smash into the wall around the arena. With his right hand, Zeak called the hilt through the force, watching from afar as it twitched on the ground, yet it remained in its place. Zeak cussed, his concentration was fixed on slowing his opponent.

That would have to change.

Zeak pulled down his left hand, instantly causing himself to soar forwards at his opponents ignited lightsaber; swiftly, he pulled his hilt as quickly as possible through the force, activating it as it soared closer and closer until it finally smashed into the outstretched opposing blade, sending it to the side as Zeak came flying into his opponent, knocking them both onto the ground.

In an instant, Zeak threw himself back up onto his feet, pulling his blade up from beside him and igniting it once again, moving into the opening stance of Ataru once again.

T'Truht fell to the floor with a crash, rolling as he did so and holding onto his lightsaber hilt with a firm grip. With a roar, the Whiphid rose, and faced his opponent. His opponent had re-assumed his Ataru stance once again, however he'd made the mistake of not attacking while he had the chance. He was facing a Whiphid Jedi Council Member - a formidable mixture of abilities.

T'Truht roared again, and held his blade up in the Djem So opening stance.

Not making the same mistake as his opponent, the Whiphid made sure he had a feeling for his opponent through the Force, before kicking up dust and debris into the face of his opponent and bulling towards him, bringing his full might into an uppercut at one of his opponent's arms.

Now the real battle began.

As his opponent approached, Zeak threw himself into the air, doing a high back flip with the aid of his years of practice with the Ataru form. Swiftly, he used the force to guide himself over his opponent, igniting his lightsaber once again as he came directly above the intended target.

With a swift burst of force energy, Zeak plummeted himself downward towards his opponent, lightning flashing in the sky above him, his lightsaber pointed downwards ready to impale the creature who opposed him.

The attack surprised T'Truht; he had not expected his opponent to try such a method, however he was pleasantly surprised. It was a blatantly open attack move; it left no room for variation again, and was easy to read. Did this Dark Side wielder have no grasp of the subtleties of the Force? Obviously not. Thus was the way of the Dark Side.

T'Truht simply moved out of the way.

With a drag of a massive foot, T'Truht threw dust, debris and gravel at his opponent's face again, before, with his lightsaber, swinging in the same arc as he had done before.

Zeak had expected his opponent to simply move out of the way; he had doubted the first stage of his attack would of had any effect whatsoever.

Closing his eyes and using the force as his senses, Zeak parried the arc attack with a simple slash; causing both lightsabers to rattle out among the clap of thunder above.

And so began the second stage of his attack.

Swiftly, he smashed the red blade extending from the hilt within his tight grip into his opponents own blade; followed by another and another, hopefully loosening the beasts grip with sheer brute strength.
