Zash was born and raised in the lower city of Taris and taught from an early age that the world was hard. He would get what he fought for and what he took, and this sentiment came to rule most of his life. He turned to petty crime early on in his life and got by as a regular urchin of the lower city.

When the Empire took over the planet, Zash's Force-sensitivity was discovered, and he was placed in the Taris academy. Although in desperate situations he reverts back to a self-survival mode, he is typically relatively easy-going and has been greatly enjoying his life as as Sith.
