Biography
While Zaid's father often took jobs as hired muscle for the local Syndicates, his mother found work within the planet's many illicit spice-processing plants. Unfortunately, the infamously dangerous nature of his mother’s profession eventually caught up to them when an accident occurred within the processing plant – leaving his mother paralyzed from the waist down and unable to work - only putting further strain on their financially strapped family. Never a particular loving man, it was not long before Zaid's father eventually abandoned them both - simply never returning from one of his frequent off-planet jobs and leaving a then-teenaged Zaid to care for his mother.
While known for being being a bright and curious child, a lack of educational opportunities and need for credits led Zaid to pursue the very same profession that most of his species were known for. Thus, by the time he was seventeen years old, Zaid was selling his services as hired muscle - often working as an enforcer or bodyguard for the petty crime bosses that infested his homeworld. Exceptionally loyal to his mother, the little credits that he made were poured into caring for his mother and attempting to keep a roof over their heads.
Despite his best efforts, Zaid's attempts to provide for his family did not last for more than a few years. The AMS Virus spread like wildfire throughout the galaxy, and the poverty-stricken neighborhood like where he and his mother lived saw some of the worst known infection rates. While Zaid managed to avoid contracting the virus, it did not take long for his mother to become infected. Despite his protests, he was forced to stand aside as she was brutally put down during a mass culling of the infected.
With nothing left to keep him on Rorak IV, Zaid quickly sold what belongings he had left and pooled together his credits from his last few jobs. While it was not much, it was enough to purchase a ship of his own - providing him with his ticket out of Hutt Space. Living out of his ship, Zaid has since spent his time traveling across the Outer Rim, continuing his work as a bodyguard and enforcer for the highest bidder.
Most recently, the half-Orcolan's travels have brought him to the Corporate Sector in search of additional employment.
