I dont use Twitch though I do watch people play vg mostly to learn about the game or a good laugh. I do post ever know and than too on youtube.

There's one thing on twitch I like (Vinesauce) and I fear for their operating future given this news.

For the most part, people(including myself) don't watch other people play video games on youtube because we want to watch the game, we watch those people because they are entertaining. It's like watching a completely improvised comedy for the most part, rather than looking to experience a game through someone else.

The appeal is that its pretty much live so that everyone is experiencing the same thing at the same time, but when watching a youtube video you can just scroll down the page and spoil yourself right away. With a stream when something funny happens everyone sees it for the first time.

The question I ask myself is would I rather watch an hour long youtube video of Angry Joe's army of 100 ESO Pvp, or watch the stream with 2,000 or so people conducting interesting discussion.

People always complain about how Google bought YT, but they brought a lot of positive things to he sight. Namely the ability to upload HD videos bigger than 10 minutes in length.

Twitch plays pokemon will now be retooled into twitch watches the internship, in which the chat controls the pause, rewind, fastforward, skip, and menu options, but can't change the channel.

Let's plays are popular because of the people that make them. I enjoy watching those types of videos if they have comedy in them, and others choose to watch them to see what the game looks like.
