Dathomir

No one was going to deny the woman who came into the liquor store with puffy, red-eyes, smeared make-up, still dressed in her gown as she carried armfuls of wine to the counter. She had managed to send out a string of texts to Renfry as to what was happening, and the worst part she felt like she had just told Renfry she was seeing someone and now he broke up with her in the worst of the worst ways possible. Her head pounded from the amount of crying she had done since stepping out of the palace and onto her ship, bottles clinking harshly together as she just dropped them on the floor of her ship. Her droid seemed entirely confused by the human's behavior and started setting the bottles up right as she prepared the ship to leave. She didn't even want her droid speaking to her, or her computer, nothing, she wanted quiet, she wanted to burn this dress, she wanted to just rewind and go back on everything she had done and said since the trip to the commissary.

The trip was long or at least felt like it was, there wasn't any sleep, as the voice ate at her psyche, reaffirming everything she thought what was wrong with herself and why it seemed like she struggled to make wiser choices.

However, with choices, she was absolutely getting shitfaced from the amount of alcohol she was consuming and by the time she arrived on Dathomir, she had at least managed to get out of her dress and into some sweat pants and the frumpiest shirt she could find. Her hair still managed to stay up, though loose curls were now falling out of place. Tia hoped being here with Renfry would be enough of a distraction until she recovered from her heartbreak, and the annoyance and irritation she couldn't even celebrate the victory of Korriban bit at her also. She wanted more than anything to flee across the galaxy and not say a word to anyone else for the rest of her days, but coming to Dathomir was the next best thing; at least she knew here, she would not be bothered if she wished so.

Still carrying armfuls of remaining full wine bottles, she exited her ship once she landed and shuffled her way to Renfry. She could feel the tears beginning again, though more so relief she was nearing her best friend, or more her sister as she viewed her. "Renfry, I can't stop crying." she managed to push through her hoarse voice.

Renfry hadn't even known that Tiamat was seeing someone, but when she'd gotten the texts about the break-up, she'd insisted that her friend come immediately. She had set about ordering all forms of luxury and comfort foods to be arranged. She'd cleared the landing deck and most of the palace entryway so that the two could be alone.

She got the alert of a ship approaching and she was already out on the "landing deck" before she had even set down, the wind whipping up against the cliff face and sending her braided hair flopping wildly around her shoulders. She used a hand to shield her eyes and was waiting there immediately when the ship's ramp came down.

She struggled to remember a time when she'd seen Tia in this bad of shape. The two had known each other for many, many years now, stretching back to a time before either of them were actually in the Sith. When she'd been a Nightsister cracking skulls in a back-alley and Tiamat had been an alley-rat eating garbage. Okay, so maybe not that much had changed, but through it all she'd come to see Tiamat as something of a little sister. In all those years, she hadn't seen the redhead this torn up. Even the reaction to the Mask had been very different from the puffy-eyed, tear-stained girl she saw before her.

Aww, come here, she said, mouth taking a downward angle and a mark of genuine sadness in her eyes. She moved forward and to the side to get around the literal mountain of wine and threw her arms around the other woman, squeezing her tightly.

She held her there for several moments before giving another tight squeeze and stepping back. Come on, let's get you inside, she said, using the Force to lift the wine out of Tia's hands so she wouldn't have to carry it anymore as they started making their way in.

As soon as Renfry embraced her, she felt herself relax; shoulders dropping, brow rising, and the invisible weight that seemed to rest on her neck seemed to roll away. Tia was able to inhale for the first time since leaving Eriadu, her breath stuttering as she looked to find balance, but everything was still off. The tears, as she said, just seemed to continue, and when she let Renfry take the bottles she used the sleeves of her shirt to wipe away the tears, her collar was still soaked from the constant wiping, so a new end of her clothing was being used.

Tia walked closely beside Renfry as they headed inside. She tried to think where to start with everything given she was still thinking about what has happened at the same time, and trying to walk properly while not entirely sober, was making this difficult. "I hurt so much." she managed to say, not only by heartache, but also physically too, "I just wanted a chance, Renfry, and instead I feel used, because he is still in love with some skank named Clove." she hissed the woman's name, her blue eyes narrowing with distaste, "I feel like a side option, like he was just going with it until he was finished with me." the tears came a little harder. The thought of being finished by him made her feel worthless, like a tool; it reminded her the men who their time with her before she ever would meet Emryc.

It used to bring anger when she felt so helpless, and perhaps it would have, but the difference was she believed Altair respected her...at one time and now she doubted the truth in it, "He could have at least..." she paused, wiping away the tears again, "At least told me sooner, not there, right in front of her." she cried throwing her face into her palms.

Renfry finally released Tia after a long moment and put an arm around her to guide her inside. The Nightsister palace wasn't luxurious in the traditional fashion, but Renfry had acquired certain tastes while she was Empress, and they'd transferred over to a private area deep inside the mountain.

She led her friend there and directed her over to an exceptionally comfy couch to sit in.

What a skank, she agreed, though she really had no idea who this "Clove" person even was. That wasn't really the point, she had stolen Tia's guy, which was all Renfry needed to know.

Men, she sneered. This was no time to bring in her own grievances about her past relationship, but she'd learned that giving any kind of emotions to men was not a great idea. She'd kept those emotions locked down for years now, and tried to keep her general bitterness away from her daughter.

You're clearly too good for him anyway, she said, pure conviction in her voice. Anyone who would treat her friend like this wasn't worth her time, but the trick was getting Tia to see it. The trick she knew she couldn't just accomplish with a wave of her hand.

She stood and grabbed two glasses and a bottle of wine, setting them down on the table and also grabbing a box of tissues to go between them. She poured a fresh glass and handed it to Tia and then poured one for herself.

Tiamat sunk into the couch, instantly becoming a potato and Tia certainly felt she could be okay with just remaining in this spot for several decades. She heard the sneer in the nightsister’s tone and Tiamat scoffed in agreement, reinterating the disgust and contempt she held. She understood Renfry had her own discords with men, especially the triangle of confusion that Emryc seemed to lay with both women, “Men are the worst and Clove, kriff that ho, she’s just as bad as Dona, that girl was also a ho and skank, used to spread rumors about me.” She growled with unpleasantness as she recalled the last she’d seen the teen after having broken her ankle at a party.

She accepted the glass of of wine, Renfry emphasizing she was too good for him and this only brought more tears and quickly she grabbed several tissues. “But I’m not!” The redhead sounded defeated, “I don’t know if you heard of him or seen him, his name is Altair, and he is, or was so good for me.” She started crying again, quickly she wiped the tears away. “If…if…if,” she stuttered, and paused, catching a breath, “if I am not even good for him, then who I am good for?

The wine glass shook in her hand to her realization and she set it down on the table, “No one wants me for ‘my personality” she said in a mocking tone, “I’m just finding how many just find that I’m a kink for them - ooo look a redhead, I’ll add that to by bang bingo.” now speaking her fear outloud made her feel absolutely sick to her stomach, the same fear she thought how Altair viewed her. Tia paused and took a drink of the wine and then poured herself another glass, filling it nearly to the top.

Renfry continued to listen and the more she listened, the worse she realized it was. This wasn't something that even a few bottles of wine were going to be able to fix.

The revelation of who the other side of this relationship was did surprise her. Though it had been a long time ago now, she had met Altair once and he seemed like a nice guy. How time could change people, it seemed.

Sweetie, that's not true and you know it, she said. Renfry could offer reassurance of what she knew, but ultimately she also had been where Tiamat was. She knew what it felt like to want something and feel inadequate. To feel like you could never be good enough. She also knew the only person who could truly pull Tia out of it was Tia.

If he's running off with other women, he's not good for anyone. This isn't about you it's about the fact that he's a loser, she said. Sounds like he and the skank deserve each other, she said.

Tiamat chugged down the glass of wine, not stopping until she drained until the last drop; she just wanted to stop feeling, or at least feel something else and not the ache in her heart. She knew Renfry was right and the woman dropped her head back on the sofa, eyes focusing beyond the ceiling of the mountain palace. "I know..." she softly spoke, tears welling in her eyes, but she tried not to blink, exhausted to the point where she didn't want them to run down her face again.

"I don't want to be sad, or angry, but I can't find anything else to feel." she sighed and pressed the tissue gently to slowly soak up the tears around her eyes. Tiamat lifted her head, "And if there is nothing else to feel, then I am going to feel sad, angry, furious." she hissed, fingers of her free hand curling into a fist, "I want to tear apart everything, smack that stupid smug grin he had, pulp that elf's face, and burn everything." she felt her anger surface, tears coming again, and goodness she was so tired of crying.

"I was a stupid stupid fool. I trusted him and now..." she grabbed the wine bottle, shaking it gently before pouring the last of it in her glass. "...I just don't know anymore." she felt her bottom lip quiver again, but distracting it with wine seemed to help.

"How, how do the nightsisters handle stupid men?" she asked Renfry.
