Location: Chume'da-Volante Summer Estate, Hapes

Siggy hasn't stopped shaking, not since the announcement. Marriage. An arranged marriage, to an Imperial no less. Not an aesthetically pleasing Hapan male, oh no, but an inferior, human grub. A walking pile of slime, tittering about in ill-tailored uniform. Hapes itself was shocked at the announcements, especially as it had come from the Queen Mother herself. They all knew what this was, this was yet another attempt at subjugation. Hapes had been notorious for its passive aggressive attitudes, with the Chume'da-Volante family leading the subtle resistance. That in itself failed miserably. Servants were slaughtered, along with an aunt, whilst the family matriarch, Rhea Adi, had been permanently scarred for her defiance. Worst of all? Siggy's twin brother, Castor, had been claimed as a Sith acolyte. Just thinking about it made Siggy want to scream.

Yet she maintained her emotions far better than her mother. Rhea was livid. Even more so because she couldn't actively voice blatant protest. Moff Jerkin knew this, perhaps even wanted it. But Rhea wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She might be scarred and veiled, but she wasn't defeated yet. And she'll be damned before she let the Empire claim her daughter. The sole heiress to their proud family. Something had to be done. Something was already in the works.

This smuggler, Dallas, he had come recommended. For his sake, he had best live up to his reputation. If the true nature of this plot was discovered, then heads would roll. Literally.

A service droid chimed, omitting its entry into the grand reception suit, "Mistress. The guest has arrived-"

"Not a guest," Rhea corrected, her tone as clipped as ever, "He's just a smuggler. No need to be giving him airs above his station. Come, Asteria. Let me do all the talking."

Coming away from the window, Siggy moved to stand behind her mother. She wondered what this smuggler was like; would be really be able to get her off world? In silence, she contemplated this, all whilst the droids opened the adjoining doors.

Siggy's job offer was the first since the last contract which Korben has finished two weeks ago. He could say, that being unemployed for such a long period was a thing to which he was not used. Hence he agreed on the Hapan female offer almost instantly. Korben has barely known about those people, only that they have a deep love of beauty. Which could mean the contract could be high-paid or even better! Of course, Dallas couldn't call himself a beauty man due to his lifestyle and lazy which were developed during his cab driver career. But if the Hapan girl wanted someone who can make things work then she has no choice. Korben will get his money, Siggy will get what she wants and everyone will be happy. Sounds good and simple, right?

"Good afternoon, dear ladies. So what a modest captain can do for you?" Asked the almost bald (thanks to the Empire) man once he entered into the building and leaned against the nearest wall, crossed his hands on his chest. He might look like a relaxed and calm, but deep inside he was... a bit strained. The interior and the furniture inside was confirmed former cab driver thoughts about wealthy of his customer. Heck, such a beautiful interior was the first on Korben' memory whose imagination about the taste of interior was limited to the Nar Shaddaa criminal bosses offices. If Korben could know some Hapan ethic or their etiquette he would use it for sure. Now he just hoped that he didn't anything stupid by his behavior to ruin the upcoming contract.

He wasn't much to look at. That was Siggy's first thought. He was human however, that much she was sure on. Just an average human. Her mother would have never hired an alien. She was too prideful for that, too bigoted. The people of Hapes were naturally beautiful people, generations of selective breeding had ensured that. So it was strange to see someone who didn't immediate match the Hapan genetic standard. Lavender eyes continued to scan the man, even as the matriarch, Rhea Adi (Siggy's mother) began to speak.

"The contract is simple, Captain," Rhea all but bit out the title. But she humoured him, for now at least. "You are to smuggle my daughter, Asteria Sigini, off world. Discreetly. And quickly."

Underneath Rhea's veil, Siggy could see a fixed frown. Her mother wasn't a pleasant woman, even at the best of times; the littlest thing could sour her mood, especially when it came to men. But the family had suffered greatly under the burden of Imperial control. The Chume'da-Volante house had nearly been ruined, torn to shreds. So now, they needed to act carefully. Siggy was the intended bride of an imperial officer. If her family's involvement was link to her disappearance, there would be charges of treason.
Hence why Dallas was contracted. He seemed to a no name smuggler, a common as any. No one would suspect such a noble family having dealings with his sorts.

Rhea continued on with her instructions, "You are to take Asteria to the planet Ord Cantrell. No detours and certainly no slacking."

The plan was for Siggy to hide out there until they further develop the plan. Ord Cantrell was a resort world, one not entirely influenced by the Imperial Republica. Movements from there on would be easier to achieve. Hapes would not the same however. There was constant surveillance; the planet was under constant watch. With the wedding only fated to be days away, there was little window for opportunity.

The captain has raised his eyebrow when Rhea has announced the task to be done and its goal. Except for the very long trip, which by Korben's calculations would take up to sixteen days, there was nothing difficult. Perhaps after the contract, he has to buy an astrodroid in order to not to make mistakes at long travel planning. That said, this is what has made Korben be suspicious - smuggling a person usually means it has pursued by someone or it was just wanted. Hence there might be some... encounters, sometimes not very pleasant. But Dallas was fine with it because he was seeing a great opportunity to increase his skill. Thus he merely smiled in addition to his wondered look.

"Except for the long trip up to a two and a half week, I don't see any problems with our contract. Therefore if any have any consumables to donate - you're welcome. Otherwise, we can depart right now". Replied the captain, but now his tone was way confident. He knew what to say, so there was no doubt in his voice. Moreover, Ord Cantrell was a good place to pick some work, thus the contract was very profitable for the man.

Two and half weeks? That long? It hardly seemed ideal. But then again, Siggy had never travelled far outside the Hapan Cluster. Actually, she knew very little in regards to interstellar transportation. When the marriage arrangement was first announced, Siggy wanted to do nothing more than run and hide. In that moment, her world came caving in. Her only hope lay in the stars and the planets that wait beyond them. At first, Siggy tried to convince her mother to let heer make this journey alone; she could take a ship of her own and use a astromech of some sorts. They could deal with the confusing hyperdrive notion. But Rhea refused. She wisely pointed out that if Siggy failed in her escape, then her defiance would be punished. Even her family would suffer.

At least with this man, possible blame could be shifted. Not that they'd ever tell him that.

Rhea began to speak once more. She wanted to impress upon this male the great importance of her instructions. "You realise, of course, that this is to be done with the upmost care and caution. No one is to know Asteria is on your ship, and no one is to ever find out."

It was like she was talking to a child. And she was doing it deliberately on purpose. "Upon completion of the contract, you will receive an additional sum. That is to ensure your...silence." It should come as no surprise. Theirs was a family of great wealth. With that came the learnt assumption that anything could be bought, even a person's compliance.

"When Asteria is safe on Ord Cantrell, you are to forget ever having met both myself and my daughter. Is that clear? Should someone ever question you on the topic, I expect you to deny it. Fiercely." Rhea was not one to be denied. In thee short space of time, she had quickly organise this grand ruse. She would do anything for her family, anything to secure its future. Even if it meant sending her daughter into exile. It was better than the alternative. As soon as Siggy wed, she would lost, forever shackled to Imperial oppression. Such a fate was worse than death. Rhea would not tolerate such injustice.

"Have we reached an understanding, smuggler?"
