Intent: This is one of the "Big Three", one of the three most commonly seen freighters in the Outer Rim. Anyone can use one, and would be a common sight in threads, whether it be in the hands of an NPC, Indie Faction, or PC.
Model: YG-300 Light Freighter
Dimensions: Length: 30 meters, Width: 25 meters, Height: 7.5 meters
Class: Light Freighter
Crew: 1 Pilot, 1 Navigator, 1 Gunner (optional), 2-4 passengers
Armament: 1x turreted twin light laser cannon, 2x heavy laser cannon, fixed (optional)
Equipment: Standard Sensor Array, Standard Life Support System, Standard Communications Suite, Civilian Navigation Module, HoloNet Transceiver, Hypermatter Reactor, Civilian Shield Generators, Escape Pods (2)
Speed: 55-60 MGLT
Hyperdrive Rating: 4
Complement: 50-65 metric tons of cargo
Maneuverability: The YG-300 handles well for a freighter, that is, it doesn't fly entirely like a brick. It would still be outmaneuvered by a fighter however.
Description: The YG-300 is a popular Outer-Rim freighter with just enough punch to keep it defensible. While people complained that "it looks like a flying saucer", the fact that it is cheap to repair, does its job well, and is fairly modifiable makes it a go-to entry level freighter for shipping companies and independent contractors alike. It is not uncommon for people low on credits to hitch a ride with captains of a YG-300, provided they pay in part for food or help out aboard the ship. Within the next few decades the YG-400 is slated to enter production, and will reportedly abandon the flying saucer design.
