Hey there, my first profile! Also, my first post. Tell me what you think!
My name is Yakiya Seiji, and my purpose is vengeance. Many of those that knew me before would say that I was a happy man who wore a jovial smile as brilliant as a star rising on the horizon to illuminate the wondrous black canvas of the night sky. They might have laughed and sung of the stories of my childhood, they might have told you of my beautiful wife and my prodigal children, or of the hard work I did to bring prosperity to my household. Those days have past, the leaves of my happiness turned red and fell with the snow of an endless winter that has set itself upon my life.
There is no spring festival in the future where my soul, blazing in the cold darkness, can finally rest amid the blooming blossoms of my home. There are no friends who can share good wine and sing their songs and laugh their stress away. There is no more wife to warm my bed and cook soft rice to satiate my hunger. There is no son to teach, a scion that would carry on my name and legacy. All of these things I buried with the ashes in the graves, and now only the purpose of vengeance and anger fills me. I know the true order of this existence; it is simple. There is only life and death, only the living and the dead. The spirits of the fallen will linger and thirst for vengeance upon their enemies, the greatest purpose that those they leave behind can pursue is to bring those spirits rest. But those spirits will never live again. The spirits of my family beckon me now to see that the galaxy is turned to ashes, so that these too may be buried with them.
This is the path that I follow, for I am Yakiya Seiji, and my purpose is vengeance.
Composition and Appearance
Seiji, surname Yakiya, is a 34 year old 6'0" human male of tan complexion, strong and fit at 181 lbs. with black hair and charcoal colored eyes, modest facial hair and narrow eyes. Though his body is modestly agile, Seiji has honed his physique into a living weapon, capable of delivering deft, powerful blows while sustaining strikes that could incapacitate a lesser man. Trained in a traditional education, Seiji lacks the tech savvy of better trained individuals, but he makes up for this with handed-down knowledge and wisdom, and years which have gained him insight into situations that most fresh-faced warriors have never faced. Seiji is often found wearing a white garb of some kind, typically either a white robe or a bandanna, a symbol of mourning which Seiji is unlikely to shun regardless of the scenario. As well, Yakiya Seiji is often found wearing his family heirloom, a pair of vibro-blades which mark his austere purpose - to kill others, or himself when necessary.
Personality
An austere, stoic individual, Yakiya Seiji is filled with an inner hatred which is well-masked, often meaning that other individuals will have difficulty discerning Seiji's intentions. Despite a man whose sole personal purpose is to deliver death, Yakiya Seiji lives by a strict morale code which dictate who must die, a code which necessitates honorable interactions and swift judgement. Seiji would sooner drive his blade across his abdomen than he would to break this code. Aside from his strict adherence to this code, however, Yakiya Seiji cultivates few personal relationships, and often views these interactions as little more than a necessity to further his goals. Yakiya Seiji may be interchangeably be perceived of as cross, insolent, or at times even respectful, as his dogmatic view of the way of the world necessitates that he fit himself within some social structure. Despite himself, however, Yakiya Seiji, like all men, maintains a number of personal vulnerabilities.
Likes & Dislikes
Aside from being spoken to by his given name by those he holds no personal relationship with, Yakiya Seiji's code of honor necessitates that he scorn senseless violence and killing, and yet also hold no reverence for life. Yakiya Seiji's morality can be called by many of "good intention" to be cruel or callous, and yet astoundingly compassionate and merciful. Yakiya Seiji determines the honor of a person at their first meeting, and all interactions between any individual and Yakiya Seiji are driven by that impression. Individuals who fail to make a positive impact on Yakiya Seiji will find him intransigent, while those who make a positive impact will find him a loyal colleague. More than anything, Yakiya Seiji disdains dishonorable scum.
Strengths & Weaknesses
Seiji is a strong individual with remarkable endurance, driven by a seemingly endless well of motivation that few others are privileged to understand. His narrow-minded dogma and his unwillingness to discuss his past are both a strength and weakness for him. His code of honor is, more than likely, his biggest weakness, as it restricts Seiji from conducting himself in a dishonorable manner. Yet, the multitudinous facets of his personal moral code make the nature of it impossible to understand for anyone but himself; often many people draw false impressions from the notion of morality, and Seiji's definitions may be surprising; though he is unwilling to go into full detail about what is, or is not, honorable.
Abilities
An aging warrior in his prime, or perhaps slightly past it, Seiji's skill with a number of weapons, from blades to bows to rifles, is impressive. Versed in the art of the blade, Yakiya Seiji is surprisingly quick and effective with a sword. Trained as he is with the weapon, Yakiya Seiji's manifestation of the Force comes most significantly in the form of a bond with his weapon; his ability to channel the Force into such an object allows him to perform feats with such a weapon that would not be possible by natural means.
Biography
Born on some fringe world on the northern periphery of the galaxy, Yakiya Seiji was raised in a backwards society residing on an almost value-less planet. The creatures and plants alike on this planet were notoriously deadly, and the society of the world had developed a deep respect and fear for the wildlife, a respect which ultimately translated into a singularly unique world view and respect for life. It was in this setting that Yakiya Seiji prospered, wedding the finest woman in his village and producing numerous offspring to carry on his name.
His first, and most prodigal, son was named Iemaru; the scion of the Yakiya household who inherited all of Seiji's wisdom and would carry on his legacy. A bright child with nothing but destiny before him, Iemaru and Seiji's wife, Maiko, were slain in a vicious attack by offworlders who sought to conduct their games of death on his people. Striking, and leaving, before Seiji could seize them and take his vengeance, Seiji was left alone to bury the ashes of his family and friends, his entire village destroyed. This singular moment completely changed Seiji, creating within him the compelling drive to kill those he seeks vengeance on; regardless of whether or not they were associated with the deaths of his family, his quest has changed in focus to simply be an endless cycle of violence from which Seiji, possessed by his own motivations cannot, or wishes not to be, set free from.
Now, Yakiya Seiji, a natural Force adept, seeks to train with the order of the Sith to hone his purpose and craft himself into an even finer weapon of vengeance. Solely desiring to focus his emotions towards this purpose, only the Sith can truly assist Yakiya in achieving his destiny.
