Character Information​

—Biography Yae was born the oldest of five children on the frigid planet of Fiana to a mother and father who worked in the forests. The girl grew up in a comfortable, relaxed household and had harmonious and intimate relationships with her family. When she was still a child, she dreamed of one day becoming a tailor, and with her family's support, she took a shot at her dream. Ultimately, Yae failed to succeed. She gave up her classes and training in tailoring. Yae discovered she was Force-sensitive by a Jedi stopping by on her planet for resupply, and after hearing various tales from the Jedi about the wonders of the Force and the goal of the Jedi, the young girl pleaded with her parents to be allowed to leave. Although initially obstinate about their daughter leaving to join the Jedi Order, they eventually relented, and the young Fiani went to one of the temples to begin her training. During her time with the Jedi Order, Yae learned everything any Jedi would. However, Yae's interest in the Force was insatiable. The more she knew, the more she wondered why the Jedi and the Sith would choose to be so closed-minded about the Force's multifaceted existence. The Force could bring enlightenment to others as it had to her, and instead, the two divisive factions treated the Force as one extreme or the other. The longer she spent time as a Padawan and then a Knight, the more she wondered why the Jedi barred themselves with so much red tape when their goal was to help people. Dissatisfied with her time and the actions of the Jedi Order, Yae elected to go rogue while out on a mission, choosing to leave her life as a Jedi behind her. The Fiani would adopt the alias "Shepherd" and spend her time travelling between the worlds the Jedi forsook or forgot, providing healing, assistance, education, food, and anything else within her power to those left destitute and wanting. Shepherd believed—and still believes—that her path is the path all Jedi should walk.

As a former Jedi Knight, Shepherd has ample Force training and is skilled in lightsaber combat. Form IV: Ataru — When utilising a single lightsaber, Shepherd defaults to Ataru. She emphasises acrobatics by using the Force to jump and dodge and keep up aggression on her opposition to win as quickly as possible. Jar'Kai — Shepherd's other preferred style of lightsaber combat is Jar'Kai, used with two standard-gripped lightsabers. Force Powers — Shepherd primarily uses her Force capabilities to leap significant heights and boost her acrobatic manoeuvrability to front flip, back flip, and somersault to attack and dodge. However, she can also use the Force in more conventional ways, such as pushing, pulling, and recalling her lightsabers.
