Xanthis Revenas is the first son of the Revenas family of Alpheridies. A full Miralukan by birth, he lacks eyes and instead has only vestigial eye sockets that he keeps covered at all times by bands of various materials. Being that he was the son of two members of the Luka Sene that stood in prominent standing within the order, Xanthis's early admittance into the academic institution was unsurprising at best and predictable at worst. This was further supported by the elder Revenas brother's extraordinary sensory capabilities, the main quality that Masters of the Luka Sene look for in prospective students. Xanthis's career in the Luka Sene was marked by different perceptions and ideas in comparison with the rest of his classmates, and he became known as a brilliant student who carried the mentality of a maverick.
Being fond of debating views with his teachers and classmates, he considered the titles of maverick and radical to be badges of honor that simply meant that he was a free thinker. Those who considered themselves to be his rivals referred to Xanthis's free-thinking as being at least partially born of pride. Aside from being contrarian in arguments, Xanthis proved himself to be a worthy student as he concentrated on his Luka Sene studies with fervor. For most Miraluka, participation in the organization was essentially a stepping stone to being greater in another career. For Xanthis, the only career that could be foreseen was a future amongst the stars, wielding a lightsaber as a member of the fabled Jedi Order. In accordance with this, he studied the Force with an intensity difficult to match and sought out other sources of learning when the limitations of the Luka Sene became apparent.
He would find this knowledge in the form of a man named Aurelius, a lecturer in the Luka Sene who took in interest in the individualistic young man. Professing to have been impressed by Xanthis's free-thinking mind and his dedication to the Force, Aurelius offered to take the younger Miralukan under his wing and the young man accepted. Aurelius would act as a tutor for Xanthis, instructing him in the mysteries of the Force beyond what the Luka Sene could provide. As weeks studying under Aurelius became months, the materials that were taught began to drift steadily further away from the doctrines taught by the Luka Sene. Rather than moderation and collaboration, aggression and and individualism began to subtly emerge. Rather than turn away from what he thought of merely as differing opinions however, Xanthis's curiosity and a feeling of superiority over his fellow Luka Sene began to win out. In time, he would even come to recognize that the opinions being told to him were outright the opposite of what his classmates were learning, but even still Xanthis could not stop himself from being drawn into the deeper mysteries of the Force.
What could have become a complete fall to the Dark Side was halted by members of the Sene Seekers, whom would interrupt a particular discussion between Master and Apprentice concerning the nature of morality. Rather than accept capture, Aurelius would choose instead to engage in battle against the Seekers and their guards. Faced with the full brunt of the choice however, Xanthis found himself at first unwilling to side with either the Seekers or Aurelius. He did not wish to kill his fellow Miraluka or even to hurt them, but simultaneously he would not work against his mentor. Eventually however, he would side with his mentor, aiding him in incapacitating the Seekers with powerful displays of Force power. It was at this point that his mentor revealed himself to be a true Dark Jedi, returned to his home with the purpose of recruiting a promising disciple from the ranks of the Luka Sene. And thus the second great choice had to be made: Xanthis could leave the planet now, and continue gaining power and knowledge by Aurelius's side or he could be abandoned by Aurelius and left to the mercy of the Luka Sene. Tempted deeply, Xanthis almost accepted, but declined at the last minute. Even though he felt a strong lust for knowledge and power, the source of that lust had originally been diligence born of a desire to be a Jedi. To become Dark Jedi would be a betrayal of himself, and besides: "I have siblings who look up to me. I can't just run off and disappoint them!" As threatened, Aurelius would abandon his erstwhile disciple and escape off-world. When the Sene Seekers found Xanthis, he was still staring contemplatively into the sky in the direction that his now former mentor had flown.
Rather than put up further resistance against the Seekers, Xanthis surrendered without so much as a word. Fortunately, he and Aurelius had only incapacitated the previous group, and as such he still had the option of absolution available to him with proven redemption. Meditating with the Masters of the Luka Sene and contemplating on the nature of the Light of the Force, Xanthis would indeed find the redemption he sought and cleanse himself of the shadow within his heart. Soon afterwords, he would leave Alpheridies behind, promising to make good on his goal of becoming a Jedi. It would not take him long to locate the Jedi, and he would soon after become a Padawan learner. Even with this reemergence into the Light and the beginning of a new future in its service however, Xanthis had tasted of the Dark Side and the darkness ever after held a place within his mind.
It was merely fortune that dictated that his master should be a practitioner of Juyo, the seventh style of lightsaber combat. A Knight by the name of Calix, the master was a man who believed that Juyo was a method of thinking rather than a lightsaber style. Allowing oneself to feel the emotions that accompanied the heat of battle and control them rather than stifle and ignore them was the path that he followed. In the same vein, allowing oneself to feel the darkness within themselves and recognize it for what it was without necessarily succumbing to it was his mentality. When the young Miraluka came in trust to his master early in their relationship and confided in him his past and his concern for what it could mean for his future, the man began to instruct him in this philosophy as well so that Xanthis could learn to channel the darkness that he feared into a weapon of hope. For his master's faith in him, Xanthis would be forever grateful and would be more diligent as a Padawan than he was even as a Luka Sene. During the years of his Padawan status, there were no relapses into the darkness and Xanthis would eventually ascend into the ranks of the Jedi Knights.
As a Knight, Xanthis became involved in the military affairs of the Order and found himself at home on the battlefield. The internalized aggression hidden underneath his calm exterior enabled him to reach heights of combat prowess that could at times be considered impressive for a Knight even as the same aspect of his style raised eyebrows among more conservative members of the Order. Despite the raised eyebrows however, Xanthis has never again fallen to the darkness. Instead he serves as one of the Jedi Order's more notable warriors, favoring the use of relatively unorthodox tactics and noteworthy amounts of aggression when given command over a cadre. Despite having differing opinions than many conservative Jedi as a result of his free-thinking nature, usage of a Juyo-based lightsaber form, and his adherence to the Emotion, Yet Peace philosophy, Xanthis is fiercely loyal to the Jedi Order. As diligent in Knighthood as he was as a Padawan, Xanthis has recently begun to contemplate ways to improve the Jedi Order and make more efficient their war against the Sith Brotherhood and he has set his sights on the position of Jedi General so that he might be able to more directly impact the flow of events in the war.

During the waning years of the conflict between the Sith Brotherhood and the Republic, Xanthis had begun to become disillusioned with the Jedi Order and the Republic. His disillusionment with the Jedi stemmed from the treatment of the Jedi Army by many of the more conservative members of the Order. Instead of presenting a strong, united front to the Sith and Mandalorians, the Jedi had become prone to infighting that had disturbed Xanthis just as the banishment of the Army from the holy grounds of the Order had disgusted him. Also weighing heavily on his mind was the sheer quantity of death emerging from the brutal war; was it truly worth it to continue to fight for the dying Republic even at the costs of an untold number of lives?
With the final blows being struck against both the Jedi Army and the Republic, Xanthis saw an opportunity to free himself from what he had come to see as an Order that was a shadow of its former self defending a decaying carcass. Leaving was not difficult, though it did leave him without a sense of purpose. He could continue to research the Force, and he could keep up his training, but was there a point? On the other hand, he could not imagine being anything less than a Force-wielder serving a greater cause.
The problem was that he was disenchanted with the idea of the Jedi, but he was not ready to cast himself into the arms of the Sith. He would instead throw himself into the stars, seeking out answers to the many questions that he still had. He would find those answers in the form of his old mentor: Aurelius. While puzzling through the ruins of a Force-wielding society, he encountered his old master and they began a surprisingly civil talk. Xanthis told the older Miraluka about his experiences as a Jedi, and about how he had become disappointed with the Order due to its behavior during the conflict. He also spoke at length about his discouragement in the stability of the Republic, considering how easily it had been laid low.
Aurelius listened patiently to his former pupil before inviting Xanthis to learn from him again and to perhaps find a new purpose. He could see that without the influence of the Jedi, the seed of the Dark Side in Xanthis's heart could be made to flourish once again. Reversing his decision from years ago, Xanthis accepted the offer and ventured with Aurelius for parts unknown. What followed was months of education by the Dark Jedi, during which time they discussed the philosophies of the Jedi and Sith in depth as well as the differing forms of government that could claim the Galaxy. Aurelius was subtle in his delivery of his messages, working with Xanthis's own disillusionment to turn his disenchantment into regret for his previous life. Over time, Xanthis would come to view his time amongst the Jedi as a mistake, and saw his time defending the Republic as a waste of effort. Foundations weakened so, Xanthis was easily seduced by Dark Side lore that Aurelius offered him several months into their relationship. Without the shackles of the Jedi to hold him back, he would accept what he had denied years ago.
The remainder of that year was spent delving into the darkest mysteries of the Force that Aurelius knew of, as well as into the deepest ruins and sanctums of the Force and Dark Side that the pair could find. By years end, Xanthis had transitioned from Jedi defender of the Republic to Dark Jedi concerned only with his own knowledge but he still lacked the purpose promised to him. What use was power without something to do with it? One could be the most knowledgeable sage, the most powerful sorcerer, or the mightiest warrior, but none of it would mean a thing without purpose. When he brought up this grievance to his mentor, Aurelius revealed to Xanthis the reason why he had spent the previous year educating him and training him.
The Imperial Priesthood, now in the transitioning process of becoming the Imperial Inquisition, was always on the lookout for converts with potential and he had chosen to take a personal hand with Xanthis's education. Furthermore he had determined that at least a year's length of time would be necessary to ensure that Xanthis would not fall back into his old ways. Finally Aurelius extended a more formal invitation to his pupil to enter into the burgeoning organization and be trained more formally in their ways and philosophies. As anticipated, Xanthis would accept the invitation without a second thought, completing a circle that had been established years before on Alpheridies.
After learning what his Initiation had to teach him, Xanthis chose to become an Imperial Templar. He had come to believe wholeheartedly in the message of the Empire, and felt a devotion towards it that far surpassed anything he had ever felt for the Republic. Between Aurelius and those who had taught him during his Initiation, he had become near fanatical in his devotions to the Empire. To him, it is a beautiful thing and a system of governance to be admired by all, and he will be one of the pillars that keep it standing. More accurately, he will be the instrument that enables the pillars to stand without succumbing to internal or external threats. Whether by coercion of dissenting elements or by lightsaber and holy fire, Inquisitor Revenas will maintain the security of the Empire, and woe betide anyone who is deemed to be a threat to that security.

When he engages in hand-to-hand combat, Xanthis prefers to use Teras Kasi for its emphasis on speed and utilizing perception to anticipate the moves of the opponents. The "steel hands" style perfectly harmonizes with his Miralukan abilities, and can be used to devastating effect against unprepared opponents. Often using exercise techniques found in the training methods of shock troopers, Xanthis's body could be considered of the mesomorph type, being lean and well-built. In terms of posture and mannerisms, Xanthis stands with pride written clearly in his stance. His demeanor is calm and relaxed, and his voice rarely ever rises above a normal speaking volume. In combat or other high-pressure situations, this demeanor belies the internal maelstrom of emotion that stands at Xanthis's core.
He is a learned student of Shii-Cho, Djem-so, and Niman, the first, fifth, and sixth styles respectively. From Djem-so, Xanthis derives his favoured technique in lightsaber combat: powerful counter-attacks. Combining the unpreditableness of Shii-Cho with the powerful strikes of Djem-so, Xanthis focuses on a defense that is riddled with counter-attacks and swift bursts of offensive fury that quickly revert back into defensive motions after an initial offensive. From Niman, Xanthis gains a creativity in combat that he merges with the seemingly unpredictable movements of Shii-Cho. While the defense-counter-offense progression may describe Xanthis's rhythm during combat, the creativity and erratic behavior of Niman and Shii-Cho best describe the movements and directives of his style. Described in its totality, the hybrid style could be called a lightsaber display that moves between resolute defense and furious offense without ever truly settling in the middle but rather shifting almost constantly between the two.
In terms of the Force, Xanthis has the standard range of abilities for an Imperial Templar in most areas of the Force and stands on par with his brethren in terms of their usage. He has also honed an ability to utilize Force abilities in conjunction with lightsaber combat through prolonged usage of Niman, especially the arts of telekinesis. He is also skilled in energy manipulation, in which he practices Force Immolation and lightning generation along with Tutaminis, which is his main defensive ability. Finally, he is a gifted user of Force-Acrobatics. Drawing inspiration from his own internal pressure, Xanthis typically maintains a low-level of augmentation during battle that he modifies as the needs of the battle change. When on the defensive, his reflexes are his focus while strength becomes his focus when he switches to offense. When not expecting to use other Force powers, Xanthis will greatly increase the amount of power and concentration allotted to his own augmentation. Finally, Xanthis claims an enhanced sensory capability through his heritage as a Miraluka and his studies in the Luka Sene, with his Force Sight in particular being natural for his race and affording him greater perception and reflexes than average.
