The entire Rule of Two was even worse and even more stupid to be honest. A plan which required such an extreme amount of patience, intricacy, secrecy, time and devotion from its followers over a thousand years would, realistically never, ever have worked. The rule of two Sith were all around better than there Jedi counterparts, because it gave them time to safety watch from a distance and adapt to their fighting styles. Even bad guys that weren't technically sith like Maul (palaguis was still alive at the time of episode 1) who killed qui gon and a few others, ventress who whooped mace windus ass on one occasion, and general grievous.

While with the rule of many you have so many self important Sith who couldn't look at the big picture and only cared for power, nothing got done. Only a few exceptions like Malgus cared for the greater good. Even then he died trying to secure a seat of power.

The first Sith Empire existed for over ten thousand years and Vitiate's Empire after that, lasted over three thousand. The only reason the Ro2 "worked" in canon was because Lucas decided that it would. Realistically, it wouldn't have worked, the rule would have been broken within the first century. The moral of the story is: Just because something is canon, doesn't mean it isn't stupid. I'll also say that it defies the selfish, individualistic nature of the Sith. Within an Order of many Sith, they follow their own careers, skill-set and philosophy. Many do in fact care about the big picture, but many do not.

This. Thankyou <3 Guy is probably my least favourite character in the entire Star Wars universe. I used to LOVE Darth Vader as a kid, but he was completely ruined for me when I was introduced to Anakin.
