BIOGRAPHY

Years ago, a Vahlan was gunned down in front of his entire family on a derelict landing platform. Two of the sons managed to escape a life under the tyranny of the Empire. This girl was not as lucky, Ambrosia finding herself in the clutches of a Sith that sought her out due to her Force Sensitivity. Her hatred turned pure as the lies surrounding the Vahla and connection to the Dark Side grew stronger. She became a respectable warrior in her own right, being trained at one of the numerous Sith Academies that dot the Galaxy. Upon completion of her training, she was indoctrinated into the Sith as an Acolyte.

In contrast to her brothers, she truly believes that strength and might make right, and her actions reflect this. She is completely loyal to the Old Empire, though she hopes to rise through the ranks by any means necesary. Her history is marred with using sideways tactics to win superior positions, something she was taught how to do quite extensively by her tutors. That by no means disqualifies her as a combatant, but sometimes a sharp mind is all that's needed for victory.

Biography

Born the daughter of a mechanic and his lover deep in space, Kero was always her mother's favorite. One could even say the first pieces of hatred were placed in her heart when she passed away. She'd been raised alongside her brothers with a jack-of-all-trades attitude. You learned you adapted, you survived. It was fundamental for every Vahla to learn, no matter the age. She was given to extreme emotions following her mother's passing and isolated herself from her own family. She didn't take to her father like her brothers did, and the gap in their relationship became only more noticeable as time passed. In a tragic turn of events, she lashed out with rage using what her brother described as a Darkness. The argument that followed was one of the last conversations she and her father had.

A Sith patrol came upon their ship while they were docked, and for some reason, the Sith in charge took an interest in her and her siblings. It was obvious what the Sith was after, so their father attempted to talk him down. It did not work. So instead he fought and was gunned down before the child's eyes. Her brothers managed to escape, but Kerowyn wasn't so lucky. Instead, she was taken by the patrol and entered tutelage in the ways of the Dark Side. In time, she was brought to an Academy for formal training and rose through the training regimens with increasing ease. It came naturally for a Vahla to give in to their hatred, and it fed her ego more than her Master would have liked. The training was harsh, but she was hardy, emerging a true and indoctrinated servant of the Old Empire. Strength and might are all she's ever had, and now she searches for ever increasing power. The more, the better, be it knowledge or Force Techniques. It was time to continue what her ancestors had begun all those years ago... a galaxy in chaos.

Personality

Kerowyn can be charming and innocent in most social situations, disguising her malice with a veneer of kindness. But beneath the surface her anger broils constantly, simply waiting for the next excuse to lash out. To her allies she is fickle and prefers to keep possible adversaries at a distance from her almost nonexistent personal life. She looks to training as a way to relieve stress, and constantly works to achieve perfection. Her attention to detail is a noticeable trait passed down from her mother, everything from her outfit to her weapons is streamlined for both style and usability.

Insidious and intelligent, she mostly prefers to toy with her prey before swiftly finishing them off. Part of her nature is to be unforgiving, and even the smallest slight can cause a grudge to harbor for a long time. She has waited months, years even if it meant inflicting pain at the right moment. This devious side doesn't see the light of day often, but when her eyes sparkle with that mischief it's best to look the other way. Otherwise, she has a tact for pyromancy, and like the flame, her emotions run wild. Not quite a feral beast, and certainly not wanting to hang on a leash, she is loyal to a fault and will follow orders without question. She doesn't deviate from her goals unless it directly suits the Empire, her own personal survival, or ensures victory.

Powers and Abilities

The Force Combat Threads Gear

• Kerowyn has developed a respectable amount of skill in the basics of the Force. She has begun comprehensive training in the art of telekinesis, able to lift heavy objects with grace. Her Force Skills are otherwise centered around herself, from gentle bursts of speed to kinetic bursts of energy.
  
  Alternatively, she can use Pyromancy to ignite her nearby surroundings, engulf an opponent with lesser flames or simply superheat surfaces with a degree of concentration. She is known to use it in conjunction with other Force abilities but prefers pyromancy for it's destructive capabilities.
• Kerowyn prefers the versatility of Form VI, Niman. It contributes to her Force-wielding in battle, and it's open-ended formula allows her to continually modify her stance as the fighting continues. It's not uncommon to see her utilizing a watered-down variant of Form II, Makashi against other saber duelists.

The Noble and Most Ancient House of Phoenix, a small branching family, was a formerly Jedi oriented Force Using family during the time of the Great Galactic War and beyond.

▵Description

There are some who choose to live their lives. There are some who choose to doddle in the affairs of mortality, hoping to understand the nature of life. And there are some who see life for what it has become, and strive to deal with the realities while hoping for the best. This a Phoenix makes. To be a Phoenix is to be a leader in every walk of life, to bring happiness and joy to those who protect it's sanctity, and hold no quarter in the face of those who would steal it away. Healing the broken in all senses of the word, from the smallest of problems and debates. But so too does it mean fire and blood in the name of that which is just, to cast aside one's inhibitions and sacrifice oneself for the betterment of all.

Since time on Desare began, there was only ever one Phoenix. His birth name lost to the whispers of time. Arcturus, (literally translated to Encompasses-All-Death-Fire) as he became known, swore an oath of vengeance against the fire drakes of the North following a massive slaughter of the Vahla. Alone and unaided, he waged his war to cleanse existence of their oppressive nature. His actions where ultimately deemed worthy of appointment to the post of Vahl's Chosen, and thus the lineage of the Phoenix began. In time, he sired a daughter whom he named Vestus, in their tongue meaning 'Wind-Blades-Fire'. The girl quickly grew into the antithesis of what her father represented, instead choosing to serve the Vahla as a healer and connection to the Force and their Goddess, Vahl. She commonly offered guidance with the sincerest hand, and her actions soon drew the attention of one Anton Van Alasdaire.

The pair quickly eloped, siring two children. In a tragic twist of fate, only one ever came to achieve the mantle. Venatus Phoenix ('Wind-Bright-Fire'), once devoted to the Embers, cast side his titles and chose to wage a shadow war against the one who posed as their Goddess. The woman he loved, but who held no love in her heart. To her was sired one child, Kathreveris Van Alasdaire, who in time would become Alexandrus Phoenix. However, she was presumed dead for many years, and thus a new and strange philosophy was born. Venatus chose to adopt his pupil, a Jedi Knight by the name of Aliyah Coven, and train her to become his successor. In time, she convinced Venatus to join the Jedi Order and aide in the war against the Sith. He attempted to pass on his knowledge of combat to any who would listen, and remained a light in even the darkest hour, slain by Zanna Kressh, Camilla Shan and Nayeli Aeron.

Aliyah then chose to rise to the mantle of Phoenix after a short period of mourning, focusing on the single goal of saving the Jedi Order in any way she could. Taking upon herself the name of Alius, which meant 'Soft-Fire' in the ancient tongue. Unfortunately, her efforts appeared to be in vain, and those among her rank and file disagreed with her philosophies in unison. She chose to adopt a child, Jexz Kira - whom she had met and encountered multiple times prior to - and granted to him the name of Carthus, meaning 'Steadfast-Fire'. It was Alius, the Fourth, who legitimized Kathreveris Van Alasdaire into the entity known as Alexandrus Phoenix. How the family will fair from this point forward remains to be seen, but their roots remain firmly planted in that which is morally right. Each Phoenix may choose to interpret the Force however they see fit, though the Third and Fourth wholly intended to have the family assimilate with the Jedi Order. Following it's destruction, it has remained neutral. In no way does this preclude any non Force sensitives from being adopted into the family.


▵Notable Persons

Arcturus Phoenix: Arcturus Phoenix was the first a disciple of the Light, and the only one to fully succumb to Vahl's influence. He betrayed his former master and served under the dark Goddess for a number of years. As such, the title of Phoenix became more of a religious figurehead for Vahl's worship, as opposed to a symbol of the Light. It was he who forged the first Ashenblade, a weapon of unique properties commonly wielded by the current Phoenix.

Vestus Phoenix: The second to follow of the Light, and the first to openly turn away from Vahl's rule. She ascended to the post following her father's passing. Her father's spirit guided her to redemption, as she and her husband sought to join their rebellious son and rid Desare of Vahl's influence. She was slain by Kathreveris Van Alasdaire in a duel to the death.

Venatus Phoenix: Venatus Phoenix is the third and current Phoenix, after having found the Genesis of Creation within his destroyed ancestral home. He was guided by the spirit of his ancestors to the God Varg, and alongside those loyal to him mounted a full-scale war against Vahl. He ultimately failed in his efforts to bring her down, and inadvertently contributed to the destruction of his homeworld. He went on to incorporate the family into the Jedi Order, failing to merge the teachings, and adopted a Twi'lek Child.

Alius Phoenix: Alius Phoenix, once known as Aliyah Coven, was the martriarch of the Phoenix family following the death of Venatus Phoenix at the hands of the Sith. She completed the transition between the family and the Order, though near the end of her life she began to seperate the entities once more. She adopted a child, Jexz Kira, and named him Phoenix. She also legitimized Kathreveris Van Alasdaire into the family.

Alexandrus Phoenix: Formerly Kathreveris Van Alasdaire, Alexandrus Phoenix was responsible for the death of Vesta before turning away from the Dark Side. She was captured by the Jedi Temple after being bisected, and remained in their custody for several years pending her trial. A trial that never came.

Jexz Phoenix Kira: The first offshoot of the Phoenix family, Jexz Kira was an orphan adopted by Aliyah in the days before her death. Upon her death, he became the House Matriarch, fully separating the family from the Jedi Order and establishing it as an independent entity. He became a mercenary, and through work and effort established a small wealth for the family. His son, Carthus Phoenix Kira, carries on his legacy and the title once granted to him.
