Dax felt a little uneasy as the crowd cheered all around the ring. He hadn't expected to be participating when he'd followed the crowd into the arena, but it seemed like a good way to get some credibility with the rest of Raz's clan, most of whom barely knew him. He was still very much the outsider, and stuff like this would surely help get pat that.
The arena wasn't as packed as it had once been, the big fights that most had come to see were over, and much of the crowd had trickled out after that. But there were still more than enough eyes in the arena for it to be embarrassing if Dax made a fool of himself. He wasn't really a wrestler, though he had gotten into more than his share of brawls on Tatooine, he'd just have to make do with what he knew.
So he waited for a someone to step forward to face him, standing in the middle of the ring in just his clothes, having discarded weapons and armor in compliance with the rules of the arena. It was just him against his opponent, the Wookiee officiating the fights had been very serious about that. It was a tradition that went back ages and it wasn't going to change on his watch.
"Alright," Dax muttered to himself as he stretched and warmed up, preparing himself a murmur finally ran through the crowd and someone stepped forwards from within the sea of people, "show time." He had an opponent, it was time to fight.
