James looked up as Ni'wal rushed into his room, sitting in a massive heap of books that used to be mounted on the shelf he was leaning upon. The light to his room switched on as the sensor caught Ni'wal rushing past, which caused him to wince in pain as he was momentarily blinded. His hand instinctively reached up to shield his eyes, after which he let out a rather audible groan. When she asked if he was alright, he replied groggily: "What in God's name happened last night...? Oi feel like a sack of schatta."

Ni wasted no time in helping the captain up, moving him so that he was sitting on his bed. Her worry turned into relief that he was still alive, even if he did seem to be ferociously hung-over. That was something Ni could deal with. She didn't quite have it in her power to bring the Captain back from the dead.

Her attention shifted to the books. She gathered them up and stacked them.

"You almost killed yourself," she said. "You had alcohol poisoning, Captain."

Though she did her best to disguise it, there was a certain amount of reprimand and anger in her voice. She had time to get over her panic and now she was wondering just how he could have done something so incredibly stupid and selfish. Perhaps it was because she was tired herself and her own irritation was being magnified by that, but she was thoroughly unimpressed with Captain James A. Rackham now that she knew he was perfectly okay and she didn't have to worry about kid gloves anymore.

"Oh, and you grabbed my butt, by the way," she said, the frustration in her voice building.

James gratefully accepted Ni'wal's help in getting to his feet, with the pain in his head making it difficult to retain everything she was saying. He did however, hear her say he grabbed her but. He shuffled over to the bowl of cold rice at the bed side, and took in a mouthful of it while saying between chews: "Did I enjoy it? I feel loik I'd remember that."

A Roguish smile graced his lips as he sat at the bed awaiting a likely angry response from Ni'wal.

Ni's eye twitched, and she stood upright. She had been able to tolerate so much from James, but there was something in her right now that made the prospect so much more difficult than it was before. An unJedi-like rage boiled up inside of her, and she glared intensely at him.

"Damn it, Jim, I'm your doctor, not a wife!" she said, her voice reverberating through the room. "You can't just touch me like that!"

Her hands were balled up into fists. She stopped herself as she realized that, releasing her grip. She stared at Rackham for a moment, and then sighed, wrapping her arms around herself.

"You need to stop hurting yourself and the people around you," she said. "I thought I was going to watch you die last night."

A somber silence settled between the two as James stared at Ni'wal, a mouthful of rice sitting in his mouth as he stopped chewing. He could see the anger literally pouring from his companion, although this was a bit different. This was more than simple frustration: this was genuine concern. After swallowing his mouthful of rice, James looked down at his bowl and took another spoon full as he said: "I've been through worse and came out in one piece love."

He brought the spoon up, and just before taking another bite, added: "I'm not going anywhere." While he had a casual air about him, he looked into Ni's eyes. It mattered to him how she felt, whether he admitted it or not.

Niwal's sad, red eyes settled on James'. The rage in her melted there. He didn't meant to be the way he was, he wasn't evil. Just selfish at times. She had to at least try and forgive him that. Although, she'd be entirely foolish to forget it. She looked at the floor, shuffling her bare feet.

"You're my best friend," she said, looking at him. "I just want you to be okay."

She looks at the food. "Just... eat and get your strength back up," she said. "I'm also prescribing you a limit on your drinking. No drinking for the next three days and after that we're going to bring you down, slowly try and get you down to 2 drinks a night maximum. I don't want to hear any whining, this is for you own good."
