This was their time, their era. An era defined by conflict and war. That was how it would be remembered. Coruscant was gone. The Alliance destroyed, the Chiss broken and the Mandalorians vanquished. The Empire - dominant. War, eminent. Certainly the one figure history would remember, more than any other, would have to be the current Sith Empress, Andraste. Having never met her Yuri had nothing specific or new to say about her, but he didn't like her. Something about her struck him as wrong, she rubbed him the wrong way. Her latest action in particular, the public massacre sparked almost unrivaled controversy all over the galaxy, with Yuri deciding then and there that if there was a movement to overthrow her, he knew that he would be in it. Alone or with the Hutt forces at his back, it didn't matter. He would see to it that a better future awaits the next generation, his daughter in particular.

He didn't wish her to experience the things he did during his lifetime. Of course there were many good and exciting things to be named in Yuri's life and he had few regrets, but he simply wished a more peaceful life for his only child. The little girl, however, wouldn't be the star of the show tonight as Yuri put on a t-shirt and made his way to the other room, in order to greet his guests who would arrive any minute now.

Tonight the stars of the show would be two old friends that showed their faces after years of being MIA. And the man was excited about it. Having sent a rather luxurious speeder for them, the Commodore, which he had like 7 of by now the man wondered what the two girls, ok the girl and the talking cat were up to, and had been up to since they last saw each other.

The barren wasteland that was Coruscant was the home of Ash, and so Yuri imagined that Nar Shaddaa reminded her of it quite a bit. Alive and never sleeping, that was a good way to try and explain the planet. There was always something going on here on the Cartel controlled moon. Yuri knew that from experience as this was the world he grew up on, and now pretty much lived on, and kind of ran if he could say so himself. No Cartel member seemed to have quite as much pull here than the man with the long dark hair and the unshaven face.

Casual. That was how he looked. Blue jeans and a white t-shirt, that was all the man wore, alongside a rather expensive watch.... Dropping down on the couch the man enjoyed a rare moment of silence as the second ticked away... And he anticipated the arrival of his guests.

Alchamy had already seen the news. The horrific bloodshed of thousands by the Empress. This was an evil that Alchamy had spent her whole life striving to see cleansed from the galaxy. But words were no longer useful, diplomacy was dead and war was all that was left to be waged.
This wasn't a life she expected. A life filled with death, sorrow and hatred. She tuned it all out, she had to, as she began primping herself for their...gathering of sorts with an old friend. This would be a good day amongst the wretched others.

No fighting, no manipulation, no talk of war or death- just friends.

"I might even let Bajpa get wasted..." Alchamy giggled to herself as she painted on the wing on her right eye's make-up. A furred face popped in from the doorway, ears pointed up in interest.

"What was that?" Bajpa had a Cheshire smile and pale blue eyes lit with joy. The recovering alcoholic was notorious for her drinking. Alchamy knew she drank to forget the life the Kushari had lived and the grim future they were sure to endure, but Alchamy needed her, she would never admit it. Bajpa knew. She needed them to be together through the colossal shitstorm the future was sure to put everyone through. She needed one thing to be right.

"N---nothing. Are you ready?" Alchamy smiled back at the cat through the mirror and continued with the final touches of her make-up. Light casual make-up and bright red lip matte to bring out her eyes. They were just meeting Yuri, after all.

"Are you kidding? I've been ready for a rematch at drinking that bastard under the table for years now!" Bajpa clutched her drinking hand into a fist and held her head up with pride.

"Yeah. No." Alchamy rolled her eyes and made to the closet, she'd already put on a black collared dress and black flats, she wasn't sure how long the event would run and opted to grab her favourite mint knit sweater and pulled it on. She turned to the cat who gave her a thumbs up and a nod.

Alchamy checked her watch, they still had a moment before their ride showed up, the redhead headed toward the kitchen, there was next to nothing there. They were just renting the rooms for a few weeks. They lived on their ship most of the year, they owed it to themselves to pretend to live like normal people now and then. Unless living on your ship and travelling with a six foot talking warrior cat was normal, then well, she had the 'normal life' covered.

The small glass of cold water she'd poured this morning was now as warm, she heard the news come on in the other room. Bajpa was slowly driving herself insane. Watching the same footage over and over, tearing herself apart over what she could have done when in reality; there was nothing. They were just freelancers now. Their lives were simply day to day survival. No cause or goals. Just survival. It wasn't that bad, really.

"Turn it off." Alchamy pleaded and emptied the contents of the glass in her hand.

"I just---"

The door rang. "Let's go." Alchamy smiled, patting her friend's shoulder and letting the entryway slide open.

"Lady Ruaca, Lady Kalsine." The driver gave a curt nod and stretched an arm toward a Commodore waiting for them.

"Yuri sent that?" Bajpa whispered to the Alderaanian girl who shrugged in response.

"It's very nice. Just allow yourself to relax, Baj." Alchamy slid into the rather luxurious speeder and pat the seat next to her. "Baj."

With a huff, the cat complied.

---

After a rather refreshing drive, the women had been informed that they'd reached their destination. Bajpa nearly threw herself from the speeder while Alchamy took a moment. She tried to stabilise her breathing. This was it. After all this time.

Bajpa grabbed the girl's wrist and began to pull her out. "I'm coming. I'm coming." She repeated even after she had fully exited the speeder and had made it to the door.

The next few moments were a blur for Alchamy as Bajpa led them both to Yuri's apartment. The door slid open and Alchamy's excitement nearly made her sick.

"Yuri."
