For a class, I have been assigned to present a film with the focus being the film's Mise-en-scène. Naturally, being the fan girl I am, I wanted to do Star Wars. And I am bouncing up and down with joy since my presentation partner likes Star Wars too. (I hope I'm not scaring him...)

So, which Star Wars film represents the Star Wars universe the best? Don't discriminate based on plot or dialogue, etc. I will be presenting lighting, props, costumes, etc. I want to show of little details and diversity. I am so excited...:D

Your opinions, as fellow fans, are important to me. :)

Empire most definatley.
Loss, revelation, insight into the wisdom of the Jedi via Yoda....by far the best of the movies.....

Well, regardless of what you think the best movie is, or the one that's your favorite, I am focusing on the sets, etc. I know they all have interesting sets, but that's why I am asking for help.

The plot isn't important. My class won't screen the film. So love, loss, Jedi wisdom, etc. won't matter too much. Unfortunately the rest of the world doesn't love Star Wars as much as I do, so I will only get to show clips of STUFF basically. Acting is important though, and character blocking. So stuff and characters, is what I'll be presenting, not plot...

If you're doing it off sets and acting I'd say do Return of the Jedi, have a lot to work with.

Better acting than I-III, space battles, Death Star rebuilt, Tattooine, Jabba's Palace, Endor and the tree forts.

That one takes the cake for me.

For these reasons I would go with A New Hope. You can talk about all kinds of technical issues (lightsaber fight between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader would be a good one), along with the acting and blocking. That whole running through the Death Star stuff. Just about the entire film.

Empire has the hightech Cloud City but also the primitive swamps of Dagobah and everything in between....

If we're talking Mise-en-scene, avoid the Prequels because of all the green-screening.

V has to be the best of all the Star wars films, in my opinion.

It also has the biggest diversity in all the original trilogy, what with Hoth, star destroyers, Dagobah, Bespin, the asteroid, the internals of the Millenium Falcon, so would be suitable for your project.

It can be CG. :D

Doesn't really apply...

Yea, I really like Hoth... so I'm stuck... :(

This. Plus the cantina scene shows a lot of different creatures and such.

These. IV prolly used the most props and less CGI then any of the other films, and it was the first in the series entirely.

No stupid, I was posting my lack of caring for it not meeting your criteria.

It should meet your criteria as it's the best film!
