Lucian had to admit that this mission was likely going to either be really boring or really rather adventurous - there wasn't going to be an in-between he could just tell. Part of it was the fact that they were far from most civilised parts of the Galaxy, meeting the designer on a privately owned space station, part of it was that it was set to be negotiations with a group of kidnappers/pirates and lastly?

Because he had a partner for this mission.

He wasn't someone who tended to mind having a partner on missions but this one might make things a little bit awkward if they weren't careful because it was Sigal Adi Chume'da... a beautiful young Jedi Knight that Lucian had gotten to know intimately on their last mission together. Despite their night's ending however, they had complimented each other well in terms of skills even then so he supposed this might actually be a good thing.

And, despite not really supposed to feel this way, Lucian would admit to himself that he was rather happy that he got to see her again. She was amusing with the way she tore down others - he wasn't bothered by her attempts to do the same to him and it was funny to watch it be done to others so... probably a bad thing to enjoy for a Jedi but oh well.

Waiting in the waiting room for the contact to say they were ready, Lucian smiled a little bit when Sigal entered. He had flown here in one of the freighters owned by the Order but he knew that Sigal had been flown here on public transport.

He didn't doubt she'd hated it all.

"Glad to see you made it, Knight Chume'da." he greeted her smoothly, "I'm afraid we're a little bit early for our appointment... can I interest you in a cup of caf for now?"

Never in Sigal's life had she hated something so menial as public transport. The cramped, uncomfortable quarters, the maddening chatter and cries of families travelling with infants; all of it irked her to unfathomable heights. Though never one for mediation, Sigal found it was the only thing keeping her sane during the -seemingly endless- voyage. She flat out refused to associate or converse with any of the other passengers, spurning whatever misguided attempts they made to engage with her; some did this out of politeness, perhaps even to pass the time, others -of the lesser gender- were simply beguiled by her beauty. Though plain out robes hid her otherwise lavish garbs and saber, they could do nothing to mask her ethereal features. Despite the hinderance of her loveliness, the Hapan refused to cover her face; it was the source of her pride and she would do nothing to distort it. Donning a hood or scarf was unthinkable. No daughter of Hapes would be caught practicing such blasphemy. Sigal would not be the exception.

Relief came with the transport finally arriving at the destined location. Desperate to free herself from the suffocating hordes of travellers, Sigal disembarked quickly and sauntered off to the waiting room.

Upon her arrival, she glared rather pointedly at Lucian, just narrowing tethering a vicious a retort. The male was becoming a frequent acquaintance; as much as she sometimes vexed her, Sigal decided she'd rather not start with mission on hostile terms. That could always come later, when she was willing to trifle with him. Instead, the Hapan managed to reply with something along of the lines of, "Wine would be better..." though she would doubtful of such luxury...

As per her usual routine, Sigal began scanning her surroundings, noting particular features. She wasn't quite sure what to make of this assignment; indeed, it didn't exactly snare her interest. But the council, in their infinite wisdom -insert sarcasm here-, decided she was best suited for such a mission. However, she couldn't help but wonder why Lucian was present as well. To add further insult to injury, perhaps? Who knows. The council, even the grand master, knew of the Hapan's bigoted disposition. This could all very well be just another misguided attempt at tempering her less than desirable personality. She wouldn't put it pass them.

Whatever the reason may be, it would appear that -once again- Lucian and Sigal would be working together on this mission...

Lucian was surprised that she hadn't already started cursing him - though he supposed being glared at was something but that just felt rather normal considering who it was that was glaring at him. Sigal's natural expression was glaring at people after all. He sipped at his caf for a moment before shaking his head a little bit at her suggestion of wine. Wine would not be better considering they were going to meet someone.

"I'm afraid I cannot accommodate you there." he declared after a moment, handing over a cup of caf regardless, "Drink the caf though - we need to meet up with the father soon."

They did have a mission to get on with after all.

The idea was that they would speak to the father, the designer, and see what he wanted for the designs. The reason why he kept referring to the man as the father was because the mission had mentioned something about helping this man with his daughter.

Sigal sighed ruefully, resigning herself to the second rate caf. It was better than nothing. With any luck, it would soothe her forever growing migraine. Public travel certainly didn't help her condition, but neither did her Jedi companion. This was not Sigal's first mission with the male; she was more than familiar with him. He had this infuriating charm, one which she couldn't disarm with her usual cynicism. Such a vexing male, even when he wasn't trying to be.

Unwilling to give it much thought, Sigal turned her focus to the task at hand. This was a rather peculiar mission; details were sketchy for the time being, with the client requesting they meet in person in order to divulge more of the assignment's detail. Naturally, the Hapan was suspicious. For a young woman, Sigal was certainly pessimistic. She expected the very worse, especially when men were involved. This designer was an accredited one, having numerous connections in and amongst the galaxy. Many within community spoke highly of him. For some reason, he sought out the Jedi to aid him in his predicament.

Yet again, it made Sigal wonder as to the reasoning behind it all. This designer could have easily requested the service of a bounty hunter guild; instead, he turned to the Order. As trivial as it was, the notion was enough to make Sigal curious.

Waiting for their host's timely arrival, Sigal sought to distract herself (anything to avoid awkward chitchat with Lucian).
"A father, hmm? How strange." She considered aloud, regarding the mission's file for what was perhaps the third time. "On Hapes, we do not acknowledge sires. They have no right in investing themselves in and amongst their offsprings; why is his impeding on his daughter's affairs?"

Lucian hoped that she wasn't going to be difficult this mission - he was so looking forward to having her actually be nice for once. It would be a shame if she were to ruin the chances of that happening but it would be, he admitted, rather in keeping with her current character.

Still, they could get her some caf and hopefully she wouldn't be too dreadful to the man who was actually going to be giving them their mission. He looked at her for a moment before shrugging,

"In the wider Galaxy, father's are seen as essential in the growth of their children. It is through their guidance with that people learn and grow." he told her with a small shrug, "It's normal. Besides, there might be a reason why he's involved in her life more than her mother."

A voice cut him off.

"There is."

Huh.

Seemed that the father had found them.

Lucian shook the offered hand and almost grimaced when the father offered to shake Sigal's hand as well. He doubted that Sigal would bother with such a sign of respect if he was being honest with himself. The father would carry on regardless.

"Her mother died in childbirth." he admitted with a soft sigh, "She was my partner in everything. In love, in business and more besides. When my daughter was born, I raised her as best I could to be like her mother - strong and brilliant. She became my business partner... and that was when she was captured. While on a job. Please... I know I could have bounty hunters do this but... the Jedi Order is beyond mere bounty hunters. Please... save my baby girl and I will give you the plans you seek."
