SITH FORTRESS, RHEN VAR, LOCAL TIME: 1123AM

The imperial corvette leaped out of hyperspace, arriving into the planetary orbit of Rhen Var. The deserted ice planet had been long forgone by the galactic empire, though rumors circulated that there were still several abandoned Sith Fortresses as well as a singular Force Nexus still on this world. Arguably, identifying those structures and making them operational again would clearly add valuable assets to Imperial operations. And so, two ambitious Sith Champions would answer the call...

Roman was fast asleep during most of the journey, nestled within his own quarters he hadn't really had much opportunity to interact with the other Champion that had joined him. Laying barechested on the mattress, half of his left leg dangled off the edge while the covers were splattered all over the ground. To say he was a messy sleeper would have been and understatement. The alarm though, was unforgiving and chirped loudly as soon as the vessel exited hyperspace. He grunted and tried to smack the clock back into "snooze" but ultimately it was too far away on the ledge of the nightstand, forcing him to lazily get up. He let out a slow sigh as he stretched out the back and arms, before rising to his full height in the nude. A quick shower with fragranced deodorant and cologne, Roman dressed in his usual battle armor.

For now though, Roman kept his helmet in his hand as he sauntered through the main hallways to grab a cup of coffee. He wondered what Altair was doing at this time, knowing that they would convene shortly at the disembarking ramp.

Altair had emerged moments earlier from his quarters, but he still wasn’t ready. He was adorned in some loose fitting sweatpants hanging low to where his boxers were sticking out, his bulky and muscled torso bare. He reeked of herbs that he had been smoking in his room moments prior. His eyes were bloodshot and glazed over. Altair was in the middle of chugging some milk directly from the carton when the other Champion strolled in. The tiefling glanced over and gave a simple tilt of his chin, “Sup, dude,” He remarked. Altair’s hair was disheveled as if he just rolled out of bed. He had, in fact, done his wake and bake routine. Often the routine was wake, bake and nake, but with no girl around, it was just wake and bake.

The tiefling belched before casually putting the half drunk carton back in the fridge and closing it. Altair walked towards Roman and beyond him to hop in the shower. However, he sniffed as he passed, “Nice cologne, bro,” He complimented as he passed, his tail swishing behind him. Altair disappeared for a few minutes before he finally emerged in his armor as well, suddenly looking far more dignified and deadly.

He was still combing his fingers through his hair as he walked back into the common area, “We should be landing soon,” Altair said, his signature helmet tucked under his arm, “You got a game plan or we wingin’ this?”

Roman gave an upbeat nod of his head and wicked smirk as Altair addressed him. He had heard rumors of this one, and they appeared to be true. Good. A sith that seemed to like enjoying themselves almost as much as he did. Perhaps this assignment would be a fun endeavor after all.

"Thanks man. I'll get you a bottle when we get back to Dromund Kaas. The saleswoman at the perfume store is good to look at too." Roman laughed, finishing his coffee as Altair returned showered and dressed in his usual detail. He lifted open the datapad and launched the images on their central holoprojector. It showed the large Fortress and Sith Temple underneath, as well as some heat signatures that appeared vague and scattered in various concentrations around the region of interest. "Well, I was thinking we could send the probes out first to scout these signatures, but that requires some waiting and I'm bored as hell already. How about we just wing it and check out the Fortress?

By the way, you got a sister?"
Roman asked, seeing a significant resemblance with another Tiefling Sith champion he had worked on a mission in Scariff with...

“No shit?” Altair perked up when Roman mentioned a bottle of the cologne, “That’d be sick, bro,” He said cheerfully before he disappeared for a bit and returned.

“Yeah let’s go,” He said as the ramp lowered. However, he glanced over at Roman as they walked, “I mean I got plenty of activities in mind if you’re worried about bein’ bored. First of all,” He held up a little baggy of herbs, dangling it in front of the other man with a grin before pocketing it again, “Lemme know if you’re game or the prude type,” He said as he kept walking. He was totally fine with smoking on the job, especially when the jobs in question were on a cold, miserable planet.

The tiefling glanced at Roman when he mentioned a sister, “I got a bunch, dude,” He said, “I got nine siblings. And my sisters are all scary as shit so my condolences if you met one,” Altair chuckled to himself, shaking his head. He glanced down at his datapad, grimacing as the signal appeared to be wonky.

“I think it may be the nexus,” He remarked, “Sometimes they fuck with regular signals,” Altair theorized as they kept walking. Nevertheless, he always had a compass with him to guide the way. They had a bit of a hike ahead of them and hopefully they would make it without incident. Unbeknownst to them, there was a blizzard very slowly brewing…

Roman opened his eyes with a mild startled appearance at the gesture of the shrooms, before relegating into a wide smile. "My man!....I was hoping you'd have some treats for us." He chuckled, continued to walk as they tracked into the frigid cold, sharp winds tearing through his armor with the wind chill and making him temporarily shiver. Grabbing another heavy cloak, he draped it over his shoulders and continued their advancement.

"Yeah, I heard the Nexus can mess with the Signals, hopefully though this points us in the right direction.. God Damn, I'm freezing my balls off here!" He said a little too loudly than desired, the statement Balls echoing through the frozen canyon they had found themselves in. "No shit?! Nine siblings? Man, how was growing up like? Did you have to share everything with them or was it pretty friendly between all of you?" He asked, genuinely curious. Roman had been an only child and so he never got to experience the sibling life.

The blizzard continued to creep on them without their notice, though the chills intensified as did the velocity of the winds surging in their direction. Vision slowly began to obscure. Suddenly though, Roman felt an unsteadiness under his left foot, a large crack could be heard and his body shifted downwards. "What the hell?!" He asked, but it was too late. The region they had been walking on was simply an extension of an embankment, snow filled and it crashed, plummeting the Sith Champion into a downwards slide several meters.
