Somewhere, M'haeli

M'haeli, a little known agriworld in the Expansion Region which only attracted interested from two parties, Jedi and Sith. The planet's dragite gem mines were a key resource for either Force sect, and the fact that it was also a food basket was just the cherry on top. But there was another reason Ashla was here, and had brought Altair with her. She had seen how he had reacted on Taris, and unlike with Vahl she had no idea what to say. So she was doing what she could, keeping him distracted, keeping him occupied. And trying to show him that he was still who he had always been, and the wildfire had not made him any less of a Sith than she knew him to be.

But while the world was mostly harmless, it was even more so than she had expected, and the troops alone would have been enough to get the job done. As much of an overkill as their presence seemed, Ashla couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something they were missing, it seemed almost too easy. And besides, what was the point of dragging Alt all the way to the other side of the Galaxy if there wasn't really anyone for them to fight and let him vent out his frustration on? At this rate she would have to order some soldiers to jump into a tank and act like they had gone rogue and let Altair beat the living shit out of the tank.

"Doing alright?" She asked him as she casually batted away a stray shot that came too close to them, and gave a nearby soldier a glare, as if it was his fault that some idiot had managed to randomly shoot in their direction and disturb her when she was trying to have a conversation. "I really did think this would be more fun, the way that Zabrak muscle head talks about invasions you'd think it was the most exciting thing in the world."

Altair was struggling with his addiction to Wildfire, but smoking tended to keep the edge off. When Ashla mentioned going in for an operation that may see conflict with the Jedi, Altair was all too eager to join. Beating someone up sounded entirely therapeutic after the series of bullshit he dealt with lately. The tiefling was adorned in standard issue Sith armor with a helmet that allowed his horns to protrude out. Instead of the default gauntlets, right arm had a matukai glove, the other the queen’s gauntlet. He had his wan-shen as an emergency backup but he had almost no intention of using it.

He didn’t look at Ashla when she spoke, considering her words, “I’m all right for now,” He answered, “I needed this, Ash, thanks,” He smiled beneath the helmet. Though she couldn’t see it, the sincerity came across in his tone. As they approached, he veered slightly off to the side, scoping for any Jedi he could see.

“Think we’ll run into anything interesting?” He called out to Ashla through their comms. The ‘invasion’ was boring thus far.

Thelian was almost thrilled to have been assigned to M’haeli, accompanying a Jedi Knight sent to the front of the planetary conflict. Between that disaster of a party back on Chalacta, his recurring nightmares and the knowledge that he was constantly falling behind on his studies, the Echani was feeling that familiar urge to break away from the temple environment - a place where he was constantly surrounded by his peers and reminded of it all.

It didn’t matter that their presence among the planetary forces was largely overkill, or that the entire journey was likely to be somewhat boring. It was a distraction, and there was something cathartic about being able to dedicate all of his focus and attention into. A singular task. A singular purpose that drowned out everything else while he played the role of a soldier on the frontlines. Perhaps that is what he was best suited for, anyway.

The Echani stepped down the ramp of their shuttle, his boots sinking down into the muck a bit as he made contact with the ground. Thelian was adorned in a new set of armor that had recently been finished - the ensemble of charcoal grey duraplast custom fit to the Echani’s muscular physique. It was completed with a full-coverage helmet, shrouding his stark white hair and facial features from view. He kept his azure-bladed lightsaber clipped to his utility belt, easily within reach if there turned out to be conflict with the Sith.

Thelian glanced back up the ramp, fixating his gaze onto the Jedi Knight. He gave the senior Jedi a curt nod of his head before turning back head, continuing up towards the front lines.

It didn’t take the Echani long to spot a pair of individuals across the field - standing out from the standard-issue Troopers that dominated the enemy line. His silver eyes immediately narrowed.

Perhaps this ‘invasion’ would be interesting after all.
