Yaga the Hutt's Palace

Ever since making the decision to take up Bounty Hunting, Annileen had questioned if it had been the right decision to take on more than one occasion. Each time the grouping of her stomach had provided a fairly easy argument in support of the change in profession, an argument for which her brain had no counter. The fact of the matter was that in a time of peace and prosperity, like the Galaxy was in right now, there was simply not enough work for a soldier like her. Bounty hunting was one of the few ways she could put food on the table. She could have gone back home, a small voice in the back of her head would whisper, only to be squished with overwhelming force and urgency. That, that was not an option for her. She could never go back home.

So bounty hunting it was, and being new in the business she had to start at the very bottom. Which was why she was here, in the castle of a Hutt named Yaga, waiting in a large courtyard with close to half dozen or so other Bounty Hunters. They were all here to carry out a job for the Hutt, a job that could lead to more employment opportunities for the ones who managed to please the Hutt. While not a big fan of the Hutts, she was a big fan of not starving, so she had swallowed her pride and showed up when the call had gone out on the local holonet. But seeing the sort gathered here, most looking more like criminals than bounty hunters, she was beginning to have second thoughts, not just about this job, but about her life decisions.

But she had little time to ponder on that as a protocol droid entered the room and began moving from bounty hunter to bounty hunter, taking down their credentials and handing out tracking fobs. He ultimately made his way to her and asked her for her name. "Jester." She replied, giving the name she had taken up in the army, and the name she preferred to use to avoid being reminded of her past life. The droid though, wasn't about to give her that comfort. "Appologies, that name is not on our system. You must be registered with the local guild to be eligible for this job. Yaga was specific about that."

Annileen, normally all smiles, cursed under her breath and a momentary grimace crossed her face as she replied. "Try Annileen," she said, "Annileen Vheet." The droid ran the name through their system and wordlessly held out a fob towards her, wasting not another moment to move on to the next bounty hunter the moment she had taken it from her. Staring down at the fob held in her metallic arm, she started thinking of ways to punish the Twi'lek she had paid to get her registered for this job. Despite paying him extra to ensure he registered her under the name Jester, he seemed to have picked her actual name. The name she was running away from.
