Whatever happened to the Chiss?

I'm working on a new character and last time I was active The Chiss Ascendancy was a main faction. Were they destroyed? I was going to make a Chiss Sith.

The Chiss were indeed a Main Faction, but everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked!

So, are they extinct or just laying low?

They are no longer a main faction, they are still there in their area of space, but their military might has been greatly reduced. I can't remember the details properly, I think you can find more details in the time skip writeup.

The Chiss had out a financial crisis and they broke apart. They are currently just a shadow of what they used to be, and lost most of there space. There is and Independent faction of Chiss Remnants, but it has gone completely inactive so the faction was archived.

Well they dont have much of a military or navy anymore after the war with the hutts, so there wouldnt be much they could do.

So far the Imperium has left the Chiss alone. The Chiss don't have much to gain to ally with the Mandalorian remnants, as all it would do is turn the Imperium's attention toward the Chiss and lead to hostilities.

Actually, it went moderately well. Chiss didn't get invaded. They didn't fight too much in the war. The Imperium didn't screw them over. Heck, officially the Chiss didn't even join the war because of the New Sith Imperium. The Chiss had a pact with the Mandalorians that if one were to go to war, the other would follow (in order to help defend each other in case one of the superpowers tried going after them). The Imperium isn't to blame, per se, for the collapse of the Ascendancy. The Ascendancy collapsed due to bad financial decisions (let's get loans from the Hutts, what's the worst that could happen? :CHappy) it itself made.

My character is a Chiss. Is there a way to RP with the Chiss Remnant? How does it work when a faction is archived?
