Born in Wild Space to a Hapan father and a Morellian mother, Weize never got to know his parents. His father, a pirate named J'hovis Hefeweizen was only a few years into his "career" when his ship made an emergency landing on Morellia. It was there that J'hovis was taken and imprisoned for suspected piracy by the police. J'hovis, being a charismatic and charming young man, tricked one of the guards into releasing him, whereby he gained the attention of a Morellian Enforcer, Lana D'Nora of the Morellian Enforcers. General D'Nora found his ability to trick the guards a valuable, and attractive, trait. Lana was attracted to J'hovis' sense of adventure and carefree lifestyle, so much so that she aided him in escaping Morellia - under the stipulation that they leave together. And the rest is history...

Well, things happened and Weize was born. Sensing the child to be a hindrance on their fluid, adventurous lifestyle, they left him with a relative on Naboo, never expecting to care for or see the child again. This relative, a half-brother of J'hovis', only kept the child for a short time (around three years) before the Jedi came, sensing the child's connection to the Force. The Jedi Master that discovered the child, Ustavg Ahlerm brought him back to the Jedi Temple on Dantooine.

He was an odd child, finding his interests lying in the secrets of the Force and in history, rather than combat or technological pursuits. The unknown always intrigued the young boy, so much so that he was often caught daydreaming during lessons or found out in the archives past curfew. However, this did not make him deficient in his combat abilities. Rather than focusing on a single lightsaber or even two, Weize wanted to master the art of using the double-bladed lightsaber - something he'd grown fond of after watching his teachers perform elegant and complex techniques that utilized such a weapon. While never the top of his class or the best in any manner of speaking, his combat abilities were good enough to move him up to more advanced training. What he lacked in strength and raw power, Weize made up for in stealth, infiltration, and manipulation.

However, times were dark in the galaxy. Young Weize had stayed with the Order initially during the early parts of the war with the Sith, as he was only a child during this period. Being the young and impressionable boy he was, even after the Jedi Army was exiled due to their militaristic nature, Weize stayed at the Temple on Dantooine, not knowing what would eventually occur at Tython in a few years time, the home of the Jedi Order.
When Tython was obliterated by the Sith, and the Republic had collapsed, Weize was being sent far from the conflict to his mother's home world, Morellia, in the hopes of protecting him, and other young padawans and initiates, from the most direct danger caused by the war. The planet was not in the former Republic's space, yet, openly took in several of the Jedi's young ones.
While on Morellia, Weize grew impatient, fearing the Jedi Army needed more help than they currently had available. Thus, he left the planet, having stowed away on a shuttle headed for Dantooine... With the Jedi Army, the young Weize, merely 17 at the time, trained and trained, hoping to be on the front lines soon.
After Tython was utterly destroyed, Weize, like the rest of the Jedi Army, was devastated - such a massive loss of life, a massive blow to their cause. However, he did not let anger cloud him, like it had some other Jedi. Instead he meditated - for several days, honing himself to block out such dangerous emotions. If the other young ones, such as himself, could protect themselves from falling, the Jedi Army would be stronger.
It was during these times in the wake of Tython that Weize began taking on stealth missions. With a shortage of available people, his betters had to send Weize and other younger members of the Jedi Army on reconnaissance and infiltration missions. Though only ever assigned lower-risk recon missions, Weize felt a sense of purpose as he traveled the galaxy, relaying information on Sith whereabouts.
After those missions and others, Weize grew to appreciate the life he'd had in the temples all the more. He had wanted to be a teacher, not a soldier; a historian, not a fighter. These things tugged at him often, making him question why he was fighting. Again, he meditated for days on this, realizing that without battle, their could be no peace, at least as far as it meant defeating the Sith.
Weize became more idealistic - believing a world without the Sith was possible, even in these darkest of times. Over the years he continued scouting and gathering information for the Army of Light, hoping any of it would influence the tide of war......

His motives are always focused on pursuits of knowledge, be it esoteric or practical. While he is not the type to pursue these at any cost to others, he is sometimes caught up in what he is doing that it risks his own well-being. In some ways, he is a stubborn individual, but this is more out of his idealist outlook on life. He takes his missions very seriously, be they related to his goals or those of the Jedi themselves.
As a Jedi, Weize holds no attachments that could entangle him with the dark side - leaving things such as romantic love by the way side. His Platonic beliefs on relationships are solidly in tune with Jedi teachings, and while some outsiders may describe him as emotionless or drab, he is quite the opposite. He cares deeply for his friends, fellow Jedi, and all those around him; he wants nothing but the best for the galaxy and its inhabitants, be they sentient or not, rich or poor, etc.
