Nar Shaddaa

Kalen had been tracking down a group of supposed dark side followers which had led him to a gang that had specialized in selling artifacts. The entire gang had been found dead three days earlier. He had never seen anything like it before. They hadn't been killed by a lightsaber, blaster, or any other weapon that Kalen could tell. It was if the life force had been sucked dry from all of them.

He was sure if someone or something was the cause of these deaths, but either way Kalen had to find out and stop it from happening again.

Normally he didn't carry his lightsaber on Nar Shaddaa but given the people he was possibly going to have to face off with, he did today.

He dropped from the high warehouse window to the floor below. The room was dark, rows of crates filled the large open area. A lead had brought him here, but he was unsure if he would find anything, or even if there was anything to find.

Kalen heard two people talking at the far side of the warehouse but wasn't close enough to hear details so he silently started to weave his way through the sea of crates.

All loose ends must be tied.

Maeve would have not cared too much about artifacts, they were valuable to others in her sect, but for her, this was more of a game of revenge. Someone had caused her to develop great detest after making comments about her own work with alchemy, therefore, Maeve decided it would be best to send them on a search for an artifact that did not necessarily exist. It seemed that these dark devices attracted many others, especially in the realms of crime syndicates. That of course was an easy fix, leaving their bodies in an obvious location seemed to have attracted a tail.

The Sith had found some desperate sap to trade information on this artifact, she would give him a few details that would take the searching Sith well across the galaxy. Hopefully a trail that would lead them into an infelicitous predicament. The Sith spoke softly, watching and feeling for any changes that would alert her to unwelcome guests. She adjusted her hood around her mask, listening to the lowlife scoundrel confirm the location, unaware of the woman's purpose. He dropped some credits into her gloved palm and bid her as good of a day her kind could have. Maeve did not speak, instead, she felt something or someone...close.

Now just stood Maeve, turning her attention to the odd sensation in the Force, a tickle down her spine that told her be on alert.

He continued to move forward slowly, careful of where he placed his feet with each step. Reaching out with the Force, he could sense the two presences in the room. One was full of fear, panicked like a trapped animal while the other one was cold in Kalen's mind. That presence was unnerving to the young Jedi, sending the hair on his neck standing.

"L..Look." the criminal said, looking on the verge of running. "..I have told you what I know," he said scratching at his neck. The man's eyes darted back and forth as he took a step back. He had been promised credits for information but was now clearly thinking of just trying to get out alive now that he stood before the masked figure.

Something told Kalen he should retreat and wait for his partner before moving forward, but something said if he did he would lose this lead. Sticking to the shadows he moved, finally spotting the pair over a large crate.

From behind her mask, Maeve rolled her eyes, she was having enough of this petty gangster. She guess she would probably have to plant the rumors elsewhere because this guy did not seem to understand. Addtionally, her own senses told her they were no longer alone and she waved her hand, making him stop, "Stop talking," and he did, no need for any dark magic to help, "Do as I said and I possibly will not find you later."

The gangster stammered, but agreed that would be best for him, "T-thank you..." he ducked his head down and quickly ran as far away from the dark woman as he could. This left Maeve to the uninvited guest as the Force extended from her palm and removed a center crate of the stack in which the Jedi was hiding. It crashed loudly into the neighboring stacks, destabilizing the Jedi's hiding spot and would leave the padawan to find either a new place to hide or confront the dark woman.

She could feel the warmth that threatened to drive her back to the shadow, but she was hoping the Jedi would be cocky enough for a game. Maeve guessed there were better ways to ask him to play a game other than knocking him off his hiding spot.

"No use hiding, I know you're here."

With a sudden surge of the Force, the top crate he had been hiding behind flew backward. Kalen quickly ducked down and to the side. He couldn't help but feel like he may have just himself in over his head.

He drew his lightsaber but didn't ignite it for the time being. He stood in hiding for several seconds after the figure had spoken again. He could run, but he would likely not get this opportunity again so against his better judgment he stepped into the edge of the clearing, looking at the dark figure in front of him.

"You sure have a way with people," he said with as much confidence as he could muster. "That's quite the mask you got there." he said again, his lightsaber visible. She was obviously fairly competent in her control of the Force and he wasn't about to face her with a blaster.
