The Consolidated Hulls Corporation was a horrible name for a business and everyone in the industry knew it - yeah it advertised what the company did on the tin but that was boring. And in business, if something was boring it should have no place front and center of the business' marketing campaigns which this did because, again, it was the bloody name.

Or maybe it really didn't matter and Tagal was just cranky about being out of his armour and wearing a suit instead?

Probably the suit bit.

This being a dangerous galaxy, he was still armed with his blaster pistols underneath his suit jacket and he was actually wearing one of his armour's gauntlets underneath the jacket as well. It was fitted snugly to his left wrist with the shield function equipped.

The only good side he could see was that he was with his wife.

"Try not to stab anyone."

What?

His wife could get stabby.

He was definitely in a bad mood.

From the moment they left Mustafar, he wouldn't stop fidgeting, which in turn drove her up the wall. And she was already in a bit of a mood herself. He cut a fine figure in a suit--she couldn't help it, she had to give him just a little bit of a full up-and-down look-- but being dressed for herself was hardly an appealing prospect. And yet here she was.

Dressed in the best a Deucalian Chief of Engineering could manage, and feeling every bit like a fool. Even though she had on stashed her blaster, a spare power pack, and a vibrodagger, she itched to go in guns blazing. So when he commented to her, she smirked, tilting her head slightly to the left at him.

One black brow rose.

"I won't. Unless they stab me first. Just try not to shoot anyone, malmhaus."

Herself? It was a bit simpler. A full black dress, light synthleather boots... and a suit jacket. With black hair braided back in a simple style, she seemed every inch her own rule; a woman sure of her domain, in peak form and confident. Now to get what they came for.

A smirk tilted on her lips.

This was going to be an interesting challenge.

Well they had decided that they weren't going to try and get in and grab the data bloody but that was, honestly, only the smart choice. It was not, however, the choice that Tagal actually wanted to make. He would have been much happier if they had just given up on being subtle and gone in guns blazing and blades swinging.

But no - he was supposed to be responsible.

Plus he was trying not to draw too much attention to himself. The Mandalorians who knew what he had done were, well, they were likely to be angry with him. Considering the Empress had pulled a massive shite fit and glassed the place? He was angry with himself too so some of that was probably (definitely) bleeding through into his day to day.

So when they marched into the reception and Tagal immediately spotted four rather alert guards and at least one camera covering the area he couldn't help but scowl.

"Kark."

The receptionist heard him and immediately glared at him. The guards took notice of this and eyed him as well, with one of them going so far as to place his hand beside his holstered pistol.

Double kark.

So he was noticed right off the bat.

Highly ironic turn of events, to be fair, but then again her husband seemed more and more easy to anger as of late. And that, in turn, ground at her nerves as well. They were not the typical corporate sort; though her cybernetic limb was mostly concealed by the jacket, she was certain she would hardly have looked the type even for a partly blind Jablogian with an acute hangover.

However, there was an ace up that sleeve.

She had seen others exit and leave this building, and watched others, like Tasha, walk. So it was time to walk the walk of a boss. Hidden in plain sight, it would seem.

She deliberately stared into the face of the woman that dared to glare at her husband, and watched with grim satisfaction as the woman seemed to wilt back inside her seat. "Watch your language," she clipped, striding past Tagal with a tall spine, head held high as her gaze met squarely with the guard that had his hand on his belt... and watched him slowly ease off of it, offering a small nod of respect.

"Assistant, come," she clipped out to her husband, suppressing a smirk, and proceeded past, the doors before them opening with a sibilant hiss. No one seemed to protest or even want to step in their way; a wise move on their part, perhaps, but equally for how long was nobody's guess. She was just another visiting self-important executive, after all.

Their borrowed time with her power entrance meant a limited time to find an entryway into the databank; they needed an employee card and a access port to get the information. But yet all those answers were just barely within reach; there was still the option of bloodshed.

But obviously, she hoped to avoid it for as long as possible. All in the name of Blackwell, of course.

... did she just call him out for his language?

...

Did she just call him her assistant?!

Oh they might have gotten through the first hurdle because of it but Tagal would not even pretend to be happy about it. Being bossed around like he was some kind of servant was not his idea of a good time. He gave a clipped smile and a curt nod to play along with it and soon they were beyond the reception.

As soon as they were out of earshot, Tagal scowled ever so slightly.

"Assistant..." he muttered with a shake of his head, "Next time can we just shoot them?"

They needed to find the databank storage centre but, thankfully, it seemed that the place had something of a friendly system for new starters and older people alike; there were signs. Literal signs on the walls directing people towards key places within the headquarters and the databank storage was one of them.

Thank the Gods for bureaucrats.

As they approached the door, there was another problem to be solved.

"How do you want to try and get past the lock?"

She had to admit, it was slightly amusing to see Tagal annoyed at her talking to him.

But also mildly guilty.

Her lips quirked slightly at Tagal's grumbling, fingers smoothing over her dress and jacket with a tug. "I am sorry malmhaus, but it was the only thing I could think of. Without killing them all, that is." Her lips turned into a bitter smile, but then.

Ah.

Therein was another problem... getting past that other door.

Bonus, there didn't seem to be many witnesses.

Negative, she had no kriffing way to get past there, short of firing at the circuitry and praying it would short the locked mechanism enough to unlock.

But then, it was like a prayer had been answered. The door clicked open to green.

An intern, or worker of some kind, stepped out. There was an access key card right there.

Skuld fully intended to be graceful, but kark, she was not meant to be in heels. So instead of gracefully obtaining the card, she tripped...

Knocking right into the poor Pantoran woman. And then she realized what the woman was carrying, because it splashed in full kriffing (thankfully only mildly hot) glory all over her dress.

Caf, probably from some employees lounge.

She gritted back a growl, and the girl gasped, flattening herself back against the wall, her skin turning several shades paler. "Oh! I'm so sorry, please forgive me, are you hurt? Let me get something for that--" and darted away before she could even answer. Or get the card from the girl.

It kriffing hurt, but... perhaps he would have a better chance at obtaining the key card than she would, when the woman would return.

Hopefully with towels, because the stuff stung worse than a hot steam bath after a snowstorm. She gritted her teeth, pulling hot wet fabric off her front.

"Your turn, any better ideas?" She hissed in a growled whisper.

Tagal watched his wife's tumble and, after making sure she was alright, he enjoyed it. That would be the only amount of revenge he got for her calling him her assistant after all. While she was cursing up a storm, Tagal took out a small slip of metal from his pocket and approached the door to the databank storage. It was a small lockpick he had crafted for himself from one of the off-cuts from the forge and he pressed his body close against the door to obscure the lock from view as he went to work.

Locks were always so delicate and annoying to get right but that was fine - Tagal had enough patience and finally it paid off a few seconds later. The lock disengaged and Tagal hid the lockpick quickly.

"Come on."

Urging his wife to follow him, Tagal opened the door to the databank storage room and hurried her and himself inside before closing the door behind him. As soon as he did so, he turned into the room itself to see a rather nerdy-looking man sat down at a desk looking at the two of them strangely.

Tagal smiled a little weakly.

"... don't suppose you could clear out for a bit? We were looking for a private place for some fun..."

The nerdy started blushing clear down to his toes and started spluttering but it didn't seem like he was getting ready to leave. He shot Skuld a Look - she was the one with the people skills!

So now he wanted her to be the convincing factor, and yet he was the managing director. This had to annoy the ever loving kriff out of him, and yet she caught the smirk he gave earlier from her little... slip-up. But she supposed she could play it up for his benefit. She was told she was attractive in her own way; time to see if it was true or not.

She slipped past Tagal, deliberately making it seem like an embrace. The fact she was still damp from her recent caf bump was simply a small benefit; she knew he was going to get her for it later, and the thought was highly amusing. She then sashayed over to the man.

Leaned over him, allowing him to have ample view of the damp dress... and just how little it really concealed, and watched in amusement as he made a definite attempt to not look down, and not really succeeding. "Shame... ve could use a third..." she purred, sliding a finger against the man's cheek down his throat.

"I, ahh..." he stammered, turning bright red. Suddenly he darted up, nearly clipping her jaw with his shoulder. He stammered out some sort of apology in some garbled version of Basic and scattered out, leaving her with a bemused look and a sore cheek from her nearly biting it at his sudden movement.

The 'borrowed time' window got smaller. It would only be a matter of time before someone, perhaps the receptionist, would wonder what the hell was going on to make two people clear a room so fast. She wouldn't even glance at her husband; she simply sighed, then turned towards the databank, cracking her knuckles.

"Problem solved, elskan, let's get down to business."

Well the nerd was out of the way.

Surprisingly quickly considering his wife had just offered to have sex with him... did he want to be offended that the weird nerd person didn't want to have sex with him and his wife? Tagal pondered what strange new directions his life had gone in that THAT was one of his current concerns as he approached the nerd's work station.

All they needed to do was gain access to the databank - how hard could that be right?

Sitting down at the nerd's work station, Tagal prepared himself to try and slice. He was... not great at slicing if he was honest but it was either that or trying to glean a password from their surroundings. As he was looking around, Tagal glanced at the screen and froze for a second.

He touched the screen and it responded.

"... someone didn't lock their screen."

The nerd had been so socially awkward that he had FORGOTTEN to lock his workstation when he left. That was very useful! As he started navigating the system, the handle to the door started going. It was locked again since the exit of the nerd but that was a bad sign.

"Try and get rid of them?"

She smoothly walked away, lightly touching his shoulder as she did.

"Three knocks is me," came the response, as she walked to address their next problem. When she opened the door, she realized with some surprise it was the woman from before, who had spilled her caf all over her. Unfortunately. She offered a smile, and the woman blushed, thrusting a handful of towels.

"I am so sorry ma'am for my clumsiness please don't tell my boss--" she rattled on one breath. Her eyes were huge as she pressed shaking fingers together, looking up at Skuld nervously. It was after this statement she paused, taking in a deep shuddering breath.

"Is okay," she assured the girl, giving her an affirming smile. Hopefully she would be clumsy enough to not realize the room she walked into was locked to employees only; or if she had, that she assumed she was a district manager. "Miss..." she glanced at the employee card on her jacket, "Kensa, was it? No harm done, though if you vould not mind, don't mention it to anyone. Calm yourself down, get another cup of caf?" she walked with the girl a few paces, smiling in understanding.

The woman almost sagged.

"Oh yes, thank you! Yes, oh, but here," she thrust the towels at Skuld, face coloring, "take these, and sorry about the dress, I really ought to be more careful..." she stalked off, muttering to herself. Soon the Deucalian was back at the door after having waited for the woman to dart out of the hallway to a nearby washroom, and knocked three times. She ditched the towels in the nearest rubbish chute, after blotting away some of the moisture. It was no longer hot, but annoying, but the light synthweave would dry soon anyways.

Hopefully he made some decent progress.

While Skuld went off to deal with the problem, Tagal was busy getting all of the data that he needed from the databank. One of the first things that he noticed? The blackmail material that the company said they had? It didn't exist. There were entire documents about how they could get ahead of their competitors but using blackmail but all of them agreed that there was no actual blackmail to hand so the best option was to fabricate some.

So they did.

The big, unknown, cyber issue that the space stations were said to have was nothing but smoke and mirrors and the company had bought it hook, line and sinker. It would have been funny had it not been for the fact that it had lead to himself and his wife having to sneak their way into such a place to confirm it.

Honestly, the idea that the data was just to prove their was no data... it seemed to be a bit hollow in his mind. It annoyed him though that much was for damn sure.

He pulled out a small data drive and retrieved the evidence of the lack of blackmail material. Tucking it away once it was fully downloaded, Tagal stepped away from the station, leaving it as they had found it. He waited until his wife was back in the room before pulling her into an embrace and sucking at her neck.

Leaving a bright red, very noticeable, hickey, Tagal grinned.

"And now we're done here."
