Ignis was well versed in much of galactic and in particular, Sith history. So when he was approached to take part in claiming the planet of Felucia the last thing he expected was to play the part of diplomat. Though Ignis felt his oratory skills were on par with his skills with the blade so he accepted the task. While the Sith of this generation were quite capable of extreme acts of violence to get what they wanted, it pleased Ignis to see a more forward thinking Order. One that realized there wasn't much point to rule over ashes and graves once the Sith finished their conquest of the galaxy. A Sith organization that at least partially wished to lead the people of the galaxy and show them the ways of power and strength.

The Sith stepped off the ramp of the Ember Shard and took a look around. Even from here the fields of nysillin could be seen and he had to admit the waves of the red plants swaying in the breeze was calming. That was good as from the brief he'd received it sounded like some of the farmers here were not pleased about their new masters. The nysillin, while valuable, was not of consequence on this mission. No what his superiors wanted was any thoughts of rebellion or uprising squashed here and now. If Ignis could accomplish it with words that would be all the better. If history had taught the former noble anything, nothing stoked rebellion like martyrs to the cause. He was still a bit perplexed with why Sidious' Empire had destroyed Alderaan outright as even with the Empire's propaganda against the Rebellion it drove thousands to the cause of the rebels. Ignis didn't like the idea of making the same mistake here.

The landing area wasn't a long walk from the village they'd agreed to meet these farmers in, but all the same Ignis felt it important to wait for his cohort. A fellow marauder by the name of Manuk. By the ancient Sith he disliked the title "Marauder". Ignis felt it made all the Sith under the lords seem like mindless beasts who only thought of murder and carnage. Though he surmised that was the point of the title, at least partially. He believed that the Lords wished to give their underlings something to strive for and give the Orders enemies a name to fear. Either way Ignis would wait for Manuk to arrive, and while he waited he watched the village from afar. All the better to gain any leverage he could for the forthcoming negations.

It was a family trait – not that Manuk knew that of course. But intense mission analysis was part of her DNA – in a manner of speaking. Technically not part of the double-helix, but definitely something that she and her clone shared.

En route to Felucia, she did her usual homework. She knew all about Nysillin, its alternative names and its properties as a healing herb. She’d also learned everything she could about the planet and the farmers they were likely to engage.

What she read over and over, without making much sense of the briefing – was her role. She was used to being used as a covert operative – often an assassin. Sometimes her actions were over the radar, but invariably martial in nature. Never before had she been asked to be a diplomat.

She analysed her strengths and weaknesses. Was this a test? Did others see something in her that she didn’t see herself? Unsure what the rationale was, she finally resigned herself to simply following the orders given to the best of her ability. Time was invariably the best provider of answers. She anticipated that post-mission, she would have a greater understanding.

She landed her ship alongside another, no doubt her accomplice in this mission, and quickly disembarked. Clothed head to toe in black, her billowing cape meant she could hide her saber from prying eyes – gunboat diplomacy was not what she’d read from the instructions.

Glancing around, she sensed then saw Ignis, who was looking towards the nearby village.

“So,” she said as she strode towards her fellow Sith, “anything of note to share?”
