FILE #140993 : EVALUATION OF MENTAL STATE

c0613a5d-10be-473a-b42b-362ef0734557.jpg
Overview

After evaluation of Vitus' mental state, it is clear to see that aside from his grizzly anger management issues he does not possess any of the traits that would label him as either a psychopath or a sociopath. Apart from his striking appearance & fear educing presence, the man himself is quite pleasant & caring, even displaying remorse for those caught in the crossfire as a result of his illegal activity.

He views himself, more as a vigilante than a criminal & believes that his actions bring about far more good than they do bad. This is likely down to his inability to feel pain & therefore his inability to comprehend the pain he causes others. He can however experience emotional pain or trauma but his own experiences have seemingly made him wary and untrusting of others. Despite this, those who earn his trust notice his unwavering loyalty & his selfless, almost heroic nature towards protecting that which he cares about.

In his personal life he is both disciplined & hard working. Both of which I can only assume he has picked up through his lifetime of practicing martial arts & his time in a military environment. He associates himself with people he deems a necessary evil & has realised that in order to accomplish great things certain things have to be done.

Vitus Theogenes is no doubt deadly, dangerous & frightening but in my opinion is equally honest, trustworthy & friendly. He is a proven soldier, assassin & tactician who demands all the respect that the weight of both his true name and alias carry.

Intermittent Explosive Disorder

Intermittent explosive disorder (IED) is an impulse-control disorder characterized by sudden episodes of unwarranted anger. The disorder is typified by hostility, impulsivity, and recurrent aggressive outbursts. People with IED essentially “explode” into a rage despite a lack of apparent provocation or reason. Individuals suffering from intermittent explosive disorder have described feeling as though they lose control of their emotions and become overcome with anger. People with IED may threaten to or actually attack objects, animals, and/or other humans. IED is said to typically begin during the early teen years.

Individuals with IED have reported that once they have released the tension that built up as a result of their rage, they feel a sense of relief. Once the relief wears off, however, some people report experiencing feelings of remorse or embarrassment.

Behavioral symptoms:
  • Physical aggressiveness
  • Verbal aggressiveness
  • Angry outbursts
  • Physically attacking people and/or objects
  • Damaging property
  • Road rage
Physical symptoms:
  • Headaches
  • Muscle tension
  • Chest tightness
  • Palpitations
  • Tingling
  • Feelings of pressure in the head
  • Tremors
Cognitive symptoms:
  • Low frustration tolerance
  • Feeling a loss of control over one’s thoughts
  • Racing thoughts
Psychosocial symptoms:
  • Feelings of rage
  • Uncontrollable irritability
  • Brief periods of emotional detachment

FILE #140993 : BACKGROUND PROFILE

Overview

There is no documented parentage, birth records or official information pertaining to the man known as Vitus Theogenes. Nor is there very much solid, credible or definitive intel about his alias "Tsunami".

Being taken in by an outer rim cartel at an early age has made it difficult, bordering on impossible to gather factual information about this time in his life. Most of the information obtained is based solely of rumours, hearsay and myths. Due to the lack of anything trustworthy revolving around Vitus File #140993 is forever being updated and amended.

What is certain however is that he ended up (likely due to his skill set) working for a heavily corrupt private military contractor. Based conveniently outside of Republic space the PMC operated with very little resistance or opposition. It was during this time that intel states he got married and began his transition into the man known as "Tsunami".

The Cartel

Though the records of his early life are vague at best, his earliest roots can now be traced to a well known outer rim cartel. He almost certainly started as a slave and its speculated that it was the discovery of his insensitivity to pain that led to his training as an enforcer. Had he not received this training he would likely still be living as a slave or worse.

While it has never been confirmed he would have likely received training in fighting, intimidation and weapon handling as well as beginning to take lives at a sickeningly young age. These events namely the fighting would have been something that sparked his love of martial arts and hand to hand combat.

Not only did Vitus work as an enforcer within the cartel, but also as an effective courier. Unlike other couriers Vitus specialized purely in the acquisition and transportation of classified, sensitive or important data. One of the other things that is said to have set him apart from others in the profession was his means of transporting said data. By making small incisions between his skin and muscle he could carry the small data chips underneath his skin, sowing the cuts up and leaving the cargo virtually undetectable.

Private Military Contractor

Vitus' career as a private military contractor is one of the defining stages in his life. Possibly more so than any other single event. Enlisted in their ranks aged only sixteen he received his training through fairly traditional means & left his basic training with remarkably high scores across the board.

His career took off, making jumps up the ladder as well as the pay scale. He moved away from pulling low grade contracts & onto some of the more sensitive & covert operations on offer. Although the details of these missions are strictly classified, it is speculated that many missions were sanctioned & funded by the Republic. The use of a PMC meant the Republic could claim total deniability in the event of things going wrong, something that Vitus went on record disliking numerous times.

It was presumed that during this time Vitus met Natasha Glynn. A systems analyst & technician who he began a relationship with and would later marry despite the couples young age.

Husband

Marriage documents detail Vitus' official age at the time of marrying Natasha was eighteen & it was shortly after this point that he attempted to part ways with his previous employer. Little is known about what transpired during this period other than an assassination attempt on Vitus going wrong, leading to the untimely death of his wife Natasha.

The most likely theory circulating is that Vitus knew far too much about classified intelligence and he was deemed a threat. Vitus had the potential to expose the Republics involvement in off the books missions, its dirty dealings with a number of companies as well as the possible exposure of corruption within the upper echelons of government.

Criminal

Shortly after the death of his wife Vitus fell off the grid along with the wealth of knowledge he possessed about the corrupt dealings of not only the Republic but many others too.

There were no documented sightings of Vitus for half a decade after he disappeared, but when he finally returned it was broadcast on almost every news network in the galaxy. Now going by the alias Tsunami he attacked his previous employers flagship facility & headquarters located in the heart of Coruscant.

The building was reduced to rubble killing not only military personnel within but hundreds of civilian workers & passers by. The death toll is estimated to be in the thousands but sparked one of the largest enquiries into corruption the Republic has ever led. Many of those who it exposed found their way into prisons, including well known senators & CEOs.

Vitus was later captured by a sector ranger known as Triton Octave. Who transported him personally to the super max prison he would be detained in.

Super Max Prison Incident

During the several months Vitus was detained he was credited with killing a number of the corrupt officials who found their way into his prison. It was within the prison where he first met Dr L. Cooper & Mr L. Johnson, two other notable criminals with whom he planned an escape.

The broad skillset of the three individuals provided them with all the tools they needed to escape & feigning a brutal attack within their cell block in which we now know Vitus severed his own arm, he was able to acquire specific drugs requested by the doctor that would be imperative to their escape. Then manipulating the other inmates they were able to drug the prison guards & stage a coup that could be used as a distraction.

The rest seemed simple according to the CCTV provided by the prison during the investigation. The footage shows the three of them hacking & fighting through a number of hallways, eventually making it to the main hanger. Once there they commandeered & escaped on a gunship now believed to be Vitus' flagship.

Wanted

His escape has earned him a place on numerous most wanted lists including that of the famous "Bounty Hunters Guild" where he remains to this day. His whereabouts are currently unknown according to the most recent available information sources.

FILE #140993 : COMBAT & MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS

3f2d11f9-b934-4cb5-9b91-ca559fb2a944.jpg
Overview

Vitus is robust, tough & durable. His strength & conditioning are second to none & he relishes combat like no other I have ever met. The combination of his enhancements, skill in hand to hand & military training have transformed a regular man into a machine. He is credited with over three hundred and fifty confirmed kills over the course of his career & is widely considered one of the deadliest men in the galaxy.

Cybernetic Enhancements

Vitus has a number of cybernetic enhancements that augment his strength, stamina & reflexes.

The first of these enhancements and by far the most noticeable is his left arm. The arm was designed, built & surgically implanted with the help of his associates Mr L. Johnson and Dr L. Cooper. Vitus stated undergoing several physical changes to be able to use the new limb. These included but were not limited to, a bulking/increase in weight, leveling his bodies symmetry & balance as well as improving the overall strength of his frame.

The second set of enhancements seem to come in the form of two intrusive but certainly worth while cybernetic package implants. These enhances the level of conditioning in regards to the cardiovascular & muscular systems. As well as stimulating his nervous system considerably, allowing for improved reaction times. They do not however significantly improve his strength but certainly improve his combat endurance.

Martial Arts & Hand to Hand

This is where Vitus seems to really shine. After practicing many of the galaxies martial art forms for most of his life he has become almost as lethal with his hands & feet as some are with blasters. Some of the defining aspects of martial arts such as balance, agility & speed not only serve him well in hand to hand, but other aspects of combat too.

While he is well versed in the using techniques such as throws, sweeps & punches it is the power he can produce in his kicks that is the most impressive. With a kicking speed sometimes reaching over one hundred miles per hour, Vitus has been known to deliver blows that are literally deadly.

Weapons Training

Vitus does not exhibit signs of ever becoming a master marksmen, nor does he possess the mathematical skills to be an accomplished sniper. While he is by no means the best, he is far from the worst & consistently achieves above average scores on the range & is committed to improvement.

He has been trained to use a multitude of weapons systems & has a working knowledge of the most common systems used in the galaxy.

Congenital Insensitivity to Pain

Vitus was born with a rare condition known as "Congenital Insensitivity to Pain" [CIP]. CIP is a condition that inhibits the body from perceiving physical pain. Affected individuals are unable to feel pain in any part of their body when injured but can feel the difference between sharp & dull objects or hot & cold. They cannot however sense that a hot beverage is burning their tongue & can be dangerous if not managed correctly.

Force Sense

Although he seems to be unaware of it, there is a number of things indicating that Vitus has a connection to the force. Things he might otherwise put down to luck, intuition or experience seem to more likely be down to heightened senses.

I reserve the right to suggest that your somewhat ludicrous cybernetics be passed through the Tech Approval section. Since they seem WAY too powerful, in addition to being purely Legends. Since you're basically K.O-ing rancors with your bare fists here.

Just going to put my two cents into this but this guy though a interesting character is very much OP that not only is his only weakness is simply a headache, but he can do so much. An he is also immune to pain and even having the ability to use the force and having huge cybernetic enhancements for almost everything.

I don't like typically stepping in, so feel free to tell me to rack off. Weren't we trying to disable combat advantages by the use of technology? Wasn't the whole point in this TL to focus on writing and less on character advantages. Dumping cybernetics and implants into your character seems like a cheap way of circumventing that. I'm also skeptical of these mental issues everyone is suddenly gaining to then somehow gain a physical or mental advantage. Just my two cents. Tell me to piss off but I felt it needed to be said.

I can dump the implants if people wish.

I mean... The body can only do so much, there is no way. Even with the use of cybernetics that one could simply punch a rancor to death. The human body wouldn't allow for it. Could Thor punch a rancor to death? Even K.O one with a punch? Negative and my character doesn't come close to the strength of this guy. I think I need to go into more depth about both his cardio/strength so that it puts it into context. His size wouldn't allow for what you speak, he is not on super serum or a superhuman.

Not only that "greatly enhanced the conditioning of the cardiovascular and muscular systems in the body so as to give a significant increase in all physical attributes"

- Greatly Enhanced Conditioning. I would consider most top level MMA fighters to have a GREATLY higher cardio conditioning than most on this site. I could easily replace this with writing that he trains hard...
- Greatly Enhanced Muscular Systems. Nothing mentions strength. It speaks to me of MSE which honestly can be achieved by a large number of functional exercise reps i.e. you want to have a higher MSE for push ups, train push ups, you want to punch things for longer, you punch things.

This whole cybernetic just speaks to me of good Endurance over Strength. I assume this is stuff that people have presumed. The only thing that mentions strength is his arm, which is a common benefit of having a cybernetic arm. I could have not done a tech profile for it as numerous other characters have, but i decided i liked having something for people to look over for extra clarity.

In regards to the use of the force, he can use force sense. It merely opens an avenue for RP, maybe one day he will align with the Jedi, or the Sith or neither. Having him listed as Force Sensitive was not enough. EVERYTHING in this profile has some form of explanation alongside it.

I don't like typically stepping in, so feel free to tell me to rack off. Weren't we trying to disable combat advantages by the use of technology? You, as everyone else has every right to critique my stuff so I'm not going to get offended or upset if people feel I need to change something. As i stated above, the combat advantages are not half as big as people seem to think, but I will certainly work to rectify these things before i start threading with this character.

The Issue you have with my use of Mental Issues or Illness/Aliments leading to advantages are easily explained. IED and anger management is something I know all to well and i decided that it would be quite nice to have control of it within writing for once rather than it have an effect over me.

The use of Congenital Insensitivity to Pain came to me when i was re-watching my favorite show the blacklist. However for those who are interested enough to follow the trail and read up on that illness will see that it has a HUGE amount of drawbacks. The idea of not feeling pain is maybe "Great" but people rely on pain to tell them something is wrong. One who cannot feel it can be in more danger than those who can.

Never the less! I will have a look over the profile in my limited free time I have at the moment and try to figure out solutions to all the things people have brought up. If it means explaining things in more detail or removing them and editing the whole profile to match I'll surely work through it.

Thank you all for your input!

First and foremost I applaud you.

Your response was great. I love that you took what people where saying and rather than getting really defensive and upset you explained yourself and agreed to work on your character to clear up any accidental misunderstanding on your profile. Good on you sir.

Only thing I'd recommend, would be increasing his age a little bit. He's done a lot of stuff in his 27 years. And with him making it to enforcer in a cartel it's almost a little tough to believe they would grant a 13-14 year old that position regardless of his abilities.

As for the tech stuff, if there's a canon equivalent to what your using cite it. It'll keep people from jumping on your character. lol and If it can't be avoided, just throw it into the tech bored. Clayton is a good dude he won't blast you or anything. (or maybe he will ^_^;)

Anyway, nice character. Fun read!
