Biography:
Kra’yal was born into an impoverished tribe on Kalee, he and his people were constantly on the run from other, stronger tribes. His childhood was spent forced marching across beaten deserts and from an early age he was trained to defend his family by wielding a gun. Had he had more time to be mentored by his father, he might have been an honoured warrior in time, a hero of his tribe, if not for the Hutts.
They came in the night, slavers dropped onto the planet and in just a few short hours of the night, they walked away with a barge full of captives. One of these was, of course, Versan. At the age seven he was stripped of his culture, heraldry and family. However, he was never a slave, although little better than it. The ships captain took a liking to the boy, and despite vocal dissent from the crew, he was adopted. As, the young Kaleesh assumed, an apology, he was presented with a Kaleesh mask taken of the corpse of one of the new slaves.
The bounty hunters, scum and slavers became like his second family, he was a soul that grew up hateful, angry, violent and cynical. Eventually he became the captain’s favourite and whispers from the bridge to the deepest recesses of the engine bay named him as the captain’s heir. By the age of eighteen he had all but forgotten his Kaleesh heritage, he was a pirate now, aside from his mask he wore he knew nothing of his past life, even his parents. Again however, things were never going to be that simple
The crew never really liked him from the start, and when the captain was ultimately reduced to fine black ash in a terrible engineering “accident” the crew took the chance, former friends and bitter enemies mutinied against the new kaleesh captain, ambushing him while he gambled in the mess hall. Kra’yal was forced to flee the ship. Fighting his way to the hangar he barely escaped with his life, leaping into his personal fighter, he broke dock, and left his life on the ship behind him.
With little more than the supplies he already had on the fighter and the clothes on his back, Versan went back to what he did best, killing. With no where to run he made for Hutt Space, determined to rebuild his old life as a pirate. Versan has become a vengeful bounty hunter, sustained only by his dream to return to the space between worlds and become the most revered pirate captain in the outer rim, or perhaps even further.
Appearance:
Kra’yal has the physique of a typical Kaleesh, with pale green eyes and dull brown skin, marked with webs of cuts and slashes earned from his profession of choice. His armour is a jigsaw of leather and durasteel plating, which provides minimal protection while offering great agility. Although out of touch with his roots, he still wears the traditional mask of a kaleesh warrior.
Personality:
Versan is often over callous and cold towards other people, but those few that qualify as friends are treasured as brothers in arms, Versan will come to the aid of anyone he deems a true ally. His violent past has bred a bizarre and often downright cruel sense of humour, this coupled with his tiresome cynical attitude makes him a hard to warm to. Despite this he has a strange form of charisma, something that people find offensive and intriguing at the same time.
The kaleesh has a mercenary’s sense of honour, and will not fight an opponent on advantageous ground, believing it to be unforgivably cowardly. This honour also extends to his contracts, he can rarely be bribed or convinced to spare the life of his target, or alter the agreements of the contract. He does not enjoy any form of torture, and if the target submits, will offer a quick death in return.
Attributes:
He is a blunt soul, and will say things that perhaps those with greater conversational skills would hold back. This is the one quality that either makes people utterly despise him, or see him as a kindred spirit. Versan is wholly unapologetic when he is rude to somebody, which makes it difficult to earn the respect of higher ups. Kra’yal is also an avid gambler at times, betting away the credits he has just collected from a bounty.
Skills:
A lifetime of mixing with the parasites and scum of the galactic underbelly have left him with fragments of various languages. Aside from galactic basic, he speaks a crude form of Huttese and understands most gang related slang and phrases. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know a single word of Kaleesh, a language that has been lost to the passage of time.
Versan is a capable pilot, and flies his starfighter, the “The Apex Fortuna” with great pride. Combat wise, he is a bounty hunter first, warrior second. This reflects in his fighting style, which favours disciplined marksmanship over his talent with a blade. This does not mean that he is unskilled with the blade in any sense of the word, his swordsmanship with a cutlass is almost an art, but not quite. He is an excellent shot, and can hit targets with decent accuracy from one-hundred and thirty feet away.
Gear:
The bounty hunter wields a Serreno Vibrocutlass and a blaster pistol; but by far his most cherished weapon is his carbine rifle, which, which he maintains and cleans regularly.

Ship:
Kra’yal flies his own custom “uglie” starfighter, which he calls the “Apex Fortuna”. The ship is equipped with chin mounted blaster cannons, but is far from a graceful flyer, and certainly not hyperspace capable.
