Name: Venara, Clan Tabbith
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Homeworld: Uba IV
Height: 1.7m
Weight: 54 kg
Force Sensitive: Not force sensitive
Faction: Independent
Rank: Freelancer
Occupation: Bounty Hunter

APPEARANCE: Venara was small and light for her species, though she was not yet fully grown. She had the typical pale skin, dark brown hair and bright green eyes of her species. Venara typically wore her hair in a tight bun when wearing her breathing mask, but when let down it was wavy and fell to her shoulders. She often braided it into a single tail when she was in her home environment.
Venara typically wore tough, tan colored pants with lots of pockets, a leather gun belt with pouches for tools and other equipment, a breathing mask over the lower portion of her face, a brown cloak and a blue collared shirt underneath her blast vest, which was painted gunmetal gray with the emblem of Clan Tabbith on the front plate.

ATTRIBUTES:
Venara had difficulty breathing in type 1 atmospheres, as her race had adapted to the low oxygen, half toxic atmosphere of Uba IV. She was found to be sterile, which meant on her planet she was undesirable for marriage to another clan. Venara was slow to pick up on new ideas. She had excellent hand-eye coordination and reflexes, superior senses and a strong survival instinct. Unfortunately she had a weak stamina, was prone to disease, and tired easily. Also, having barely reached adulthood, she had not put on much muscle that would allow her to excel in an active lifestyle.

PERSONALITY:
Venara was callow, having led a meager life on Uba IV. New experiences tended to disorient her, at least at first. Venara was suspicious of strangers, vengeful and loyal to her family. Growing up with so little made her appreciate small comforts, like a warm meal or soft bed. Like many of her people, Venara had a fascination with advanced technology and collected any gadgets she came across so that she could try to learn about them. Venara had one trait that made her more dangerous than other Ubese: hope. Most of her elders were dismissive of change, having long ago surrendered to the suffering on their planet. Venara rejected that attitude, and encouraged her peers to see the same bright future she longed to embrace. Perhaps due to her youth, Venara dreamed of a day when her people would be strong again, healthy, wealthy and happy. Venara was more open minded than other Ubese, as she believed that the future lay with the construction of bonds between her people and other races.

BIOGRAPHY:
Venara grew up on Uba IV, a barren world within a secluded star system in the Mid rim. Catastrophes in millennia past had left her homeworld barely able to sustain life, and with a lack of resources, Venara had grown accustomed to hardship. Life was bleak among the Ubese, and they did all that they could to scrape by. Clan Tabbith had a hold-fast on the surface of Uba IV, but were primarily employed off-world as mercenaries or bounty hunters. One thing that existed in abundance on Uba was weaponry, so most of the populace was trained for combat. Venara was discovered to be sterile when she came of age, so she was chosen by her Clan’s Primarch to serve along her brothers abroad. Vemerak, her father, was in charge of the contracts of his clan and decreed that Venara would be trained by her brother Ridder to become a bounty hunter.

Clan Tabbith had access to a few starships. Vemerak put Ridder and Venara in one and sent them to perform a few jobs so that they could see if Venara had the chops for bounty hunting. Venara’s first job went fairly smoothly; they pursued a bail jumper who had jumped to a nearby system the night before and tracked him down as he was leaving his family’s home. Venara had been anxious about her first job, little doubts leaping into her mind as her brother piloted the ship to the nearest landing pad. Ridder had been the opposite, stone-cold focused and dismissive of his kid sister’s worries.

The Tabbith siblings overcame their quarry as he was loading some valuables into a speeder. Before she knew what was happening, Ridder was sprinting toward the target, his blaster drawn. Venara started after her brother, and was shocked that her brother opened fire as soon as the target caught sight of him. The stun bolt flew true and struck the bounty. Their quarry collapsed to the ground. As the siblings came upon him, Ridder ordered Venara to deploy the net he had given her. Venara fumbled with the bundle, but managed to release the net and tossed it over the target. With the target restrained, the Tabbith siblings were ready to return to their ship.

At least that was what Venara thought; her brother had begun to rummage through the target’s speeder and pulled out anything he thought might be valuable and pocketed it. Ridder returned to carry the captive back to their rental within seconds. He had finished looting so quickly that Venara almost imagined that she had seen it. Later on, Ridder told her that criminal scum deserve to have their possessions taken from them, which was why the Bounty Hunter’s Guild issued the right of salvage to most jobs performed by its members, but one had to be quick about it. You never knew who might be watching, who might want what you are taking.

The sibling hunters returned to base with their prize intact and without any complications. They entered their father’s office while the authorities were offloading the prisoner to turn in the bounty. Vemerak was impressed by what Ridder told him about his daughter’s performance and rewarded them with a percentage of the bounty as pocket money. Ridder took Venara to a nearby restaurant to order take-out, his treat, he told her. The abundance of food on the space station that the Tabbith hunter’s called home astounded the rookie. They brought the food back to Ridder’s apartment and ate heartily. Venara’s stomach hurt afterward because the food was so rich. Ridder would always buy a big meal after a successful job, a ritual that Venara was happy to adopt. Venara eagerly crawled into the cot that waited for her in her brother’s quarters. The feather pillow was the softest she had ever rested her head on, the blankets were silky and kept her comfortably warm. Such luxuries could be afforded for the clan’s primary breadwinners, she thought as she closed her eyes.

Vemerak sent the siblings on several more jobs over the next few weeks. Each time Ridder took less of a role in the hunt so that his sister could learn how to do things on her own. Venara would stun the acquisition, while Ridder would bag them, for example. Venara got a crash course in piloting a starship and in tracking humanoid targets. Ridder kept his sister on a rigorous training regime and diet to help her build up muscle and to improve her stamina, since both would come in handy in their line of work. Venara could tell her brother was under a tight schedule to turn her into an independent hunter. He seemed to move from lesson to lesson at lightning speed and rarely repeated himself unless he determined that she had not grasped something. Ridder was not the best teacher, as he had taken to hunting easily and assumed other people would know what he was talking about.

Finally, the day came several months later when Ridder recommended that Venara run a job solo. Vemerak was glad for this news and handed her a datapad with contact info on it: a name: Emerek Disell; and a star system: Adumar. When she asked how she was supposed to get there, Vemerak laughed at her. “You think your brother can fly you all over the galaxy, girl? No, he has better things to do. Go figure that out,” The old man sneered. “When you are in the Bounty Hunter’s guild, come talk to me. No more handouts for you.”
Venara refused to cry until she had left her father’s presence, but when the tears came, they poured out. She had realized that suddenly her future was in her hands, and the burden was heavy. Even worse if her family wanted nothing to do with her until she had made a name for herself, then she resolved that she would rub it in their faces when she did come back victorious.

SKILLS: Venara is skilled with firing a blaster pistol, proficient with shock batons and capture nets. She can pilot a starship, though she is far from an expert. She can track humanoids, whether through wilderness or across the stars. She can pilot landspeeders, use communications equipment, and can perform basic first aid. She can speak both Ubese and Galactic Basic, and can communicate using the Ubese sign language Ubeninal.

Per the rules, characters cannot start off as members of the Bounty Hunters Guild. This must be initiated via a plot as stated below. Please correct this and then tag me for approval.

In order to gain initiation into the Guild, a character must submit a minimum of 2-3 thread plot in order to bring in their first bounty. These bounties may be created by the player submitting the plot. This initiation bounty is not eligible for bounty tokens, but successful delivery of the target will gain the freelancer access into the Guild as an initiate.
