PERSONALITY:
Veith is a very cold-hearted being, more cruel than is necessary even by the standards of the predatory Anzati. He treats hunting as a great sport, and has been known to kill more than he can feed upon, simply for the pleasure of drawing blood. He claims that he does not feel remorse because he doesn't see the point of it, feeling rather that it's all part of life, and that his gain is more important than that of others. As a killer, he would often attack those he thought would give him good sport, but never those who he thought would be too much for him. He claims that he is not a sportsman, and would enjoy a good challenge only so long as he won in the end. He has conditioned himself, as has his heritage, to never falter in a fight, and if he feels doubt he will withdraw from a battle to steel himself better. If the opponent shows mercy or pity, he will immediately capitalize on it, and has no boundaries as to what he will do if he must.

While he is bloodthirsty, Veith is by no means a brute. He is intelligent, and often wiser on certain matters than his better-intentioned targets. Even those who are smarter than him are often surprised by his cunning, as he is amongst the most devious of his kind. He is silent when he trails someone, and will strike only when the best opportunity presents itself, developing almost a sixth sense as to when is the best moment to attack. He is a master of hiding and tracking, and is often innovative when it comes to battle. He retracts his proboscises when not in use, so as to appear human and startle targets when he moves in for the kill.
BIOGRAPHY:
Veith was born on the Anzati homeworld of Anzat, where he lived for over a century of his life. Born into a small society of Anzati who were interspersed with Jedi of other races, he and his kin were part of an effort to expunge the dangerous nature and Dark Side tendencies of Force-sensitive Anzati. Because of this, he did not even taste "soup", the life essence of others, until he was over one hundred. He had been educated that it was immoral, and taught that it drew one closer to the Dark Side of the Force. However, despite the cautions against the Dark Side, none of the Anzati involved were ever deemed suitable for induction into the Jedi, and their age-old nature made them somewhat indifferent to the Force and its devotees. As he underwent puberty at one hundred years old, Veith stopped caring about the Jedi, and the different Force users and their philosophies entirely. Once he abandoned attachment to any of these philosophies, he began to disregard everything they had taught him, and once tasted "soup".

With the taste of the blissful "soup", he decided that the Force, and its different sides, were entirely irrelevant, whereas before he had only questioned it. Veith joined the normal Anzati society, becoming accustomed to their ways rather than those he had been taught, and was soon ready to leave the planet to hunt, as his kind did. However, on board a ship leaving the planet, he heard rumors that the Jedi had labeled him as dangerous, and that the ship's captain was planning to capture or kill him. Instead of going through with his journey the whole way, when they were stopped by a patrol ship near another planet, he slipped onto that ship, and hid himself away. When it arrived back to port, the officials found the crew dead, having been killed from the shadows, with only the captain left alive, and Veith slipped out onto the planet unseen.

Veith continued this way, hunting on a planet for a time by taming wild creatures and using them to bring him live prey. Once he tired of a planet or became too much of a menace and was in danger, he would slip aboard a ship, and it would arrive, often at an unplanned destination, with either only the captain, or sometimes none of the crew members, alive. Eventually, a ship he attacked crash-landed on The Graveyard of the Dragons, a planet where the Star Dragons migrated to die, and he found himself stranded, as the Duinuogwuin who came there to die had the power of solitary space travel, and ships rarely visited there.

Discovering that the Duinuogwuin were all Force sensitives, a delicious meal, and mostly weak and dying, he hunted them at his pleasure, although the large sentients often gave him a challenge. Eventually, word of this predation reached the rest of the Duinuogwuin, and several Force adepts of the Star Dragons were sent to dispatch him. He was forced into hiding, and they began to hunt each other. Eventually a member of the Second Order of Lettow, having sensed the deaths of the Force sensitives on the graveyard planet, arrived to investigate. At first Veith was against the philosophy of any side of the Force, but after seeing the Dark Sider defeat one of the Duinuogwuin Force-users, and realizing that his ways weren't very different from that of the Lettow, he succumbed to a desire for knowledge and power, and joined the Lettow.
