With the strange, warped beast defeated, the light seemed to return now slowly to the this long forgotten temple they now found themselves exploring. Vollen couldn't help but enjoy himself. Even tired from the fight, much of the thicker growth seemed to fall back, having been twisted beyond recognition by the dark powers that had fed here.

And so, Vollen and Grug made their way further into the heart of the temple. The air felt cleaner now, as if they were coming closer to the exterior again, slowly but surely. It was now then he better understood why the Jedi had settled on this planet in the first place. The thick jungle kept them secluded, but the life inside it, when not warped and deformed by the dark side of the force, was truly wild. Wilder even than the forests of Tython in its depths, or so it felt to Vollen at least. How Grug was getting on he wasn't too sure, but he was glad of the company at least.

Moving back up to the surface it seemed, the pair entered what felt like a library, or a temple of some kind. With high pillars and aisles it was a dramatic sight, leading solemnly, peacefully to some sort of Altar. Though off to the side Vollen could see a doorway, leading into a room much, much larger than this one.

A hangar.

"It's a very strange set up, don't you think Grug? Perhaps the Jedi would... would come here for final mediations before leaving the planet, or taking to the skies for battle. It's, it's fascinating, I have to say" Vollen spoke aloud, overwhelmed by the discovery they seemed to be making. It was set up like no Jedi temple he'd been in before, as if somehow a deeply spiritual one, or something else. It was certainly enigmatic to say the least. No doubt there would be useful things to the Order here, and he and Grug would find them.

Grug walked along with Vollen and did in fact notice that it felt lighter. A wild jungle was fun for Grug, but it wasn't quite his style. The Gamorrean preferred mud and a bit more open space. Jungles were good in moderation though. While the room did not overwhelm Grug, he did think it was nice. He could give a simple nod to his partner.

"Am good. Look like meeting area maybe. Big hangar, go fly."
He grunted in agreement, glancing around the old temple.

After fighting the beast nothing would seem so bad here. Grug was happy to explore more of the old temple. He hoped to find some local food if possible too, but it would all be spoiled by now if it was in the temple. There would likely be old artifacts or even some broken down ships. The Gamorrean Jedi was built for war, but he could appreciate a nice peaceful temple. Devaron seemed like a nice place for the Jedi to find sanctuary while protecting the galaxy. Safe places were nice to have for retreats with their hard, dangerous work.

"Go fly, go fly away Jedi" came a voice, echoing from the hangar as Grug finished speaking. Vollen paused for a moment. It hadn't been long he had been on Tython, not so long that he had forgotten the voices of those looters he had crossed at the digsite earlier. He had thought he and Kyros had convinced them to leave, forget their disrespectful venture and find somewhere else to search.

Instead, it seemed, they had no such intention of leaving this Devaron temple well enough alone. At least, not this one of them, not Menard.

Giving Grug a roll of his eyes, he moved cautiously through the main door to the hangar, turning the corner into an enormous hollow, somewhere between constructed and a natural formation, like a cave that had been fashioned to fit another purpose for the Jedi that had lived here long ago. Long enough ago to leave something behind: a pair of S5 Jedi Starfighters. Sleek and advanced, the fighters had clearly been here sometime, ovegrown in foliage and vines, slick wet from the rains of the Devaron jungle that the hangar opened out onto.

His eyes widened, he'd never seen such ships before, so many of them lost in the Hundred Years Darkness that their sight now was ever so rare. Too bad between he, Grug, and the ships stood eleven rather decently armed looking mercenaries, guns up to face the pair of Jedi, led by the rather gaunt and callous figure of Menard, the human leader of the looters he'd thought they'd convinced to leave,

"Menard" he began, moving into the hangar now,

"I thought we had a deal"

Grug followed the other Jedi into the hangar as he continued to move alongside him. These thugs seemed intent on sticking around after some deal they had with Vollen. The Gamorrean did not like people who went back on their word. That was just a rude lack of manners. Looters were common at abandoned sites, unfortunately, and these ones were well armed. The ships and who knows what other manner of loot would be in danger if the Jedi simply let them continue. Grug saw that even after seeing Vollen they did not back down. Some even seemed ready to fire.

"Wait, am need tie shoe." Grug grunted as he turned around and bent over, though a perceptive person might notice that the Gamorrean Jedi was barefoot.

A large buildup of gas was always a danger with Grug. He had learned that this made a great tool when combined with the force. While many Jedi used their hands or feet to throw devastating force blasts, Grug used another method. His butt was now facing the group of looters and it took no time for the force to amplify what would be a nasty fart into an epic force fart. A cone of energy erupted from the Gamorrean Jedi's rear end without warning directly towards these enemies. Seven out of the eleven, not including Menard himself, went flying backwards and landed with a hard thud on the floor of the hangar cave. They'd be feeling that one for a while and might be down for a round, but they'd not be dead yet. This just left four enemies for Vollen and Grug to handle while the others recovered. The smell would not be too pleasant either.

Well.

That was something... special,

"Good... good job Grug" he said, slightly bemused.

Vollen for his own part had never seen such a spectacular application of force gas. Nor had he really ever seen any application of that particular power of the force, though despite the whiff that came with it, its effectiveness was clear. With the majority of the group swept off their feet and into the hard stone floor, he had an opening to get the jump on the rest.

Gathering the force to him in a flash, he lifted the three remaining thugs from the ground, and sent them flying into eachother in mid air, over the top of those already on the floor. As the trio collided together he heard helmets crack and armour splinter, such was the strength of the attack. None of them would be up any time soon, certainly not as each fell a top one of the mercenaries Grug had managed to knock onto the ground, hopefully keeping a few more pinned a little longer while the dealt with any brave, or foolish, enough to get back up.

And then there was Menard. While Vollen tried to snap freeze him with a sudden emanation of cryokinesis that had begun to coalesce at the mans feet, the wiry human was too fast, and leapt forward, gun firing off bolt after bolt at the Jedi duo, a pair of shots coming toward each of them.

But with no back up to speak of he couldn't last long.

Such an epic use of Force gas inspired Grug to continue the fight. Enemies snapped and cracked at the whim of the force. Vollen and Grug only had one enemy truly standing now. The crazed man decided to attack anyways. Grug forgot the name Vollen had called him already but he knew it was their leader. By the time the bolts were fired, the Gamorrean had turned around to activate his lightsaber. Both bolts were easily deflected away while the last was returned to sender. It wouldn't kill the armored looter but it would make him think twice.

"Last chance give up," Grug grunted as his free hand ripped at the gun to steal it from Menard. "Not able win."

The blaster appeared in Grug's hand after a moment and he pointed it at the man while still keeping his lightsaber ignited. It would be quite the intimidating sight to see two powerful Jedi while unarmed. A smart man would surrender and back down. Grug hoped this was a smart man. He assumed Vollen could handle his own blasts and would only reinforce the need for this looter to give up.

With his cryokinesis effort taking up his focus, the blaster bolts that rocketed toward him now were ones he'd be too late to react to properly. While he managed to snatch his lightsaber from his belt and ignite it, Vollen only managed to redirect one bolt, the second searing across his abdomen, tearing through his robes, burning and cauterising the wound in an instant.

He wanted to let out a shot of pain, something verbal to suppress the feeling. But he wouldn't now, not in front of Menard. He couldn't have them looking weak before this. Though whether they could really appear weak after taking down his hired goons in an instant was a good question, not one though he meant to test,

"We had a deal, why'd you go back on the deal?" he asked the man before him. A pitiable sight, on his knees before the two Jedi. Menard glanced around at the troops, now unconscious, scattered across the hangar floor. His chin wobbled, his eyes welled up in a second as he wondered what all the kriffing work had got him was this. Scrounging in ruins and at he mercy of Jedi. Looking back toward the pair, he began to cry, sobbing as he spoke,

"I just, I just wanted to find somehing" he uttered through tears, choking up with every word "Something to sell, to make some mo- mon- money!" he cried, unattractively. The men were all alive though, as was he, and Vollen didn't have plans to kill the man. Kriff, he doubted it was even worth arresting him after this,

"The other two, their up their, in the ship. They're, they're not going to let you leave, not easily" he offered to the pair, like a bargaining chip as he finally broke down, his plans falling down around him. Vollen felt only pity for the man,

"They won't be keeping us here. But you should leave, Menard. Leave this place" Vollen said softly to the man, while looking back to Grug. They would need a way out, and fast. And funnily enough there were a pair of prized ships sitting right in front of them.

It seemed the looter had decided it was not worth attacking two Jedi. Grug alone was terrifying without the force. Two powerful Jedi would not be phased by them. At least, Grug thought so before noticing that Vollen took a hit. He was a little surprised at the Master for getting wounded like that but at least he stayed on his feet. Now the pair just had to leave with these sweet new ships. Grug did wonder if his large fat body would fit inside.

"Am hope find luck better job. Better life." He grunted to the man as he walked away, tossing the blaster away to one side as he reached the fighter. "We go now."

Grug opened the cockpit to the ship and peered inside. He would need to struggle to fit inside properly but it seemed there was enough room. More importantly however was a droid sitting in the back, deactivated who knows how long ago now. The old MR-Series was in decent shape so Grug hit it over the head to activate it. A cacophony of whirs and beeps followed before lights came to life. It worked! Now that his little co-pilot was awake it was time for him to squeeze into the ship as well.

"Hi droid. Excuse Grug... am try fit inside now too." Grug said to the droid as he attempted to enter, but went at the wrong angle. "Ow. Move over more?"

After another couple of struggles, the fat Gamorrean Jedi got into the cockpit and made himself comfortable. A beep of complaint came from the droid but it seemed okay. Grug pulled a couple of levers and pushed a few buttons before the ship roared to life. He did it! To say Grug was not a master pilot was an understatement. He often did not fit inside the fighters so he did not use them often. Small ships were not his friends but he had at least learned how to make them move and basic fighting.

"Bye friends!" He grunted out as the door was closing, hoping to never see those thugs again.

Now all that was left for the pair of Jedi to do was fly away. Vollen would likely get his fighter started quicker and lead them out. A ship in orbit would hardly be an issue for them to evade. Grug felt good about this one. Maybe this droid would be a good friend too. Now he just had to name it. Grug would likely spend most of the flight trying to name the droid.

Looking down at Menard and his gaggle of goons, Vollen pitied the man. Though in that moment before the man would have killed him, here he sat now, lost in the jungle of Devaron. Such was the price paid when one turned to violence. The man wouldn't be stuck here at least, there was that ship he'd mentioned, he'd be alright. And hopefully better off for the whole experience.

Or so Vollen would have to believe, as he climbed into the cockpit of his own starfighter. Brushing away vines that crawled across the flexiglass cockpit, like Grug found in his own fighter, here again was another companion droid co-pilot, one that clearly had not been awake in some time. A JR model this time, more humanoid, built specifically as pilots, the Jedi had used many of them back during the Darkness. And the ship was just as old, though still more advanced than most ships on the market even now.

The seat fit him well, and as he searched the controls and activated the ship, something mechanical whirred behind him.

The droid.

"Oye, you better have a bloody good explanation for being here buddy" the droid, with a rather heavily affected scottish accent said, clearly confused to be reawakened after so many years,

"We're here to get you out of here my friend, you're part of the Jedi Order, right?" Vollen replied jovially, things had gone exceedingly well now, he couldn't deny a smile any longer,

"Aye, me, Mac. For many a year I've been a valued member, as part of this here starfighter crew" the droid, Mac, said as it slapped the body of the ship with a heavy metallic twang echoed through the hangar,

"Well then we're here to get you back into the fight my friend" Vollen said, turning back to the exit and gunning the engines.

It was time to go home.
