Universal Investigations is a Galactic Alliance-alligned law enforcement agency that deals in everything from general policing, to witness protection, to interrogation, to firefights. Agents of UI specialize in many different law enforcement tasks, and only the best are selected to be members of the organization.

You'd be surprised where Universal Investigations' eyes and ears are...

Founded by Rascus Poquiu, UI was founded on the basis of doing whatever necesarry to bring in the assorted scumbags of the Galaxy, cleaning up what criminal dirt the Alliance would otherwise be too busy to deal with themselves because of the war. They will do also do what is needed to protect the innocent from these slimebuckets. No crew of pirates or band or evil band of brigands is safe from the crosshairs of Universal Investigations. Their database of profiles and specs is made up from some of the most detailed in the Galaxy, and they will always know everything they need to about their targets.

Poquiu intended for UI to act as a general law enforcement and detective agency, whereas Alliance Intelligence was more dedicated to the war effort. However, some agents still work closely with Intelligence, and UI makes large contributions to the Alliance's war effort still, by inserting their most effective agents into such factions as the Sith Empire and the Chiss Ascendancy.

Ranking Structure

Officer: Low-ranking Agent, usually an operative still in training
-
Agent: The standard operative of Universal Investigations. Acts as
detectives, pilots, escorts, etc.
-
Interrogator: A special rank given to Agents with a unique interrogation ability.
-
Shadowwalkers: Force-sensitive Agents.
-
Special Agent: Experienced, efficient, and always having a plan to shoot anybody who shoots first, Special Agents lead UI task forces and investigations, and also act as training guides for new Officers.
-
Lieutenant Agent: 2nd-in-command
-
Captain Agent: Head of Universal Investigations

Equipment

Most Agents have their own weapons, but UI also offers an armory of protection for their operatives.

DL-44 - The popular heavy blaster pistol is a standard sidearm for UI
-
22T4 hold-out blaster pistol: Another standard, lighter sidearm, for those who want to better conceal their weapon than lugging around a DL-44
-
PAC20 visual wrist comlink - Glove mounted comm device with a visual display. Capable of communicating to distances of up to 75 kilometers.
-
FIREFLY Suit: Alliance developed light armor suit, capable of withstanding several blaster bolts. This suit includes a built-in HUD which can be connected to Agent's weapons to display ammunition and overheating, and also displays vital signs. Form-fitting, the suit is compact enough to have a layer of clothes or a coat over it.

-
Ten Z-95 Headhunters - UI also bares a small force of fighters, retained by captured and convicted pirates for UI's personal use. These are for agents to use in escort missions and undercover use.
--
CR-90 corvette Ghostbuster - UI also retains its own 'flagship,' so to speak. The Ghostbuster is(or was, rather) Captain Agent Poquiu's personal ship, which Agents may use to conduct missions, such as witness transport.

Headquarters on Coruscant

Champions_HQ.jpg

The Investigations' HQ on Coruscant is their base of operations throughout the galaxy, and it is where the organization stores its bounties of databanks. The HQ is heavily defended, with turbolasers and anti-aircraft missiles stationed on the roof. Pop-out autoturrets are also stationed around the entrance of HQ, to repell any foot attacks. The hangar bay, located in the left wing, is big enough to hold all 10 Z-95 Headhunters and the Ghostbuster.

The right wing contains the holo-training hall, where recruits are subjected to realistic training programs and are taught how to deal with hostage situations, escorting, witness protection, and even interrogation. Recruits of UI are guaranteed to get a new and fresh scenario every time they enter the holo-training hall.

The building is installed with a state-of-the-art security system. Personal quarters are completely sealed off from explosions, and are accessed by either thumbprint readings or voice commands. Each room is programmed to be accessable to certain ranks, or even certain individuals.

A large percentage of the technology for UI Headquarters was provided by the Alliance, because they knew that the organization would be a worthy source of intelligence for them, even maybe moreso than their own Alliance Intelligence. However, a portion of it has also been developed by UI's agents themselves, or created in collaboration with the Alliance. Captain Agent Rascus Poquiu himself helped develop the hologram training hall in conjunction with Alliance engineers to make sure the programs were as realistic as possible.

Building the state-of-the-art HQ wiped out most of UI's main funding, and they do not have a great deal of credits to waste, so they spend sparingly.
