--Ruined Temple, Korriban

Before them, the foggy entrance of an old and ruined Sith temple. Long abandoned, it now served as a test of strength for the locals. They entered alone or as master and apprentice, made their way into the center chamber then made their way back out.

It sounded simple, but whatever relic or power inside the temple attracted then twisted the creatures that made it their home. Often times driving them mad. Even after being cleared out, new creatures always took their place. Moreover, whatever was the source of this madness had taken the sanity of some who took the test. There were rumors that a few still wandered it's halls, accepted by the creatures inside.

Traditionally those that took the test were only permitted to bring their swords and the Force, but as the Empress took control of the world many choose lightsabers over swords. Vex choose to honor the newer tradition, bringing only her two duel-phase lightsabers, both of which were wrapped tightly in her fingers. Dawned in her Away Armor, including her helmet; she suspected she'd need it. She had asked Kall to do the same—to bring only his lightsabers.

Dusk was falling rapidly, and soon there would be nothing left but the light of the few torches at the entrance. According to the locals, they were not suppose to enter until then. Though there were no lights inside that she was aware of, so she hoped their lightsabers would provide enough.

As she had bidden him, so had he done. And bring only his lightsabers he did. His two lightsabers, matching in the hilt now that Vex had instructed him in their construction and her way of battle. She had been solemn and serious in her recommendation of his armament and anything that she took so to heart he would also. The blaster pistol was left behind and strapped to his belt were the weapons of the Sith. Within and around him was the ethereal power of the Force was with him as well, strengthened only by her growing presence. The Wookiee stood girded in his suit of Sith battle armor, gleaming in the twilight.

Since his latent talent was unleashed, Kalladrrl noticed he was not touched quite as easily by the desert heat of Korriban, even arrayed in black armor as he was, fierce and fearsome in appearance, fully helmeted to mirror Vex. If only he'd been so attuned to his own abilities while infiltrating and eliminating the Verpine air defenses on Roche. Oh well. No sense crying over blue milk.

Kalladrrl stretched his arms wide, feeling cracks dance in his shoulders and spine as he loosened up for the task ahead. He did not feel unease even facing down the menacing power that lay within the ruin. Why should he? Together, Vex and Kalladrrl were a deadly pair ready to face any challenge that awaited them. They had something many Sith did not: trust. She trusted his skill with violence and he was in awe at the power she commanded. Their skillsets complemented one another and interlocking in mutual teaching.

"Haarraakannrraffna, rani?" Kalladrrl grunted once in thought. "HrrathSithahaarranrriki." It was more of an observation than a value judgement. The old Sith were a strong species, mighty in the Force and battle and the mystery of intertwining the two.

The Empress and the new Sith had just been better at it.
