I see what you mean. Though considering Trump just split the Republican electorate in half, their representation in the regressive left might grow stronger as millennials become the major constituency. That and they are gaining some diluted power through the Democrats already, as the party seems to be shifting farther and farther left.

White liberals generally have blinders on when it comes to race. Any leftward swing in the Democratic Party is not going to translate into some sort of acceptance of movements like Black Panthers.

@Kaane A pretty clear difference between say the black panthers and the congress man I gave the link to is, the black panthers movement was started during a time where black lives were underappreciated and were being discriminating against. Bernie Sanders was put in the same situation as Ted Cruz and he completely and embarrassingly wimped out. Endorsing Clinton in such a dishonorable and humiliating fashion totally underscored everything he preached while running against her and it is going to undoubtedly haunt him for years to come. But Ted sucked it up and said what he believed despite being faced with huge opposition. Kudos to him for standing up like that.

As shakily as most of the convention had gone, Mike Pence really got my support from what he said in it

@+SpaceJesus+ its funny that you bring up bernie sanders, because when he supposed wimped out, know what he was doing? Making the party better, changing the platform and hillary because he was using his leverage to make the party more focused on issues that will help america. Like breaking up big banks, affordable health care, and so on. So yea he endorsed Hillary, but just like Ted Cruz they were both trying to do their best with the situation they were given.

Plus Ted Cruz probably did this more out of spit because Trump seriously attacked him personal with name calling and disrespecting Ted's wife. So before you start saying he did this solely for being right, might want to see what were some of the causes. If I was Bernie, I wouldn't have done it. As far as voters are concerned, Hillary represents Wall Street, and she is a physical manifestation of the current establishment. That's exactly what he has said of her the entire time he ran. She's everything he disagrees with. Supporting her in such a dramatic fashion is ideological suicide. It's not just the endorsement in and of itself, it's the complet 180 turn in tone he took in going from demonizing Hillary as an abomination of a candidate to saying we needed to vote for her anyway. Now any time he tries to criticize these institutions any opponent of his is going to hold that endorsement over his head and say "you are a hypocrite," regardless of how selfless his motivations may be. I think Bernie will regret that move in the future if he plans on running. It's just going to be a long term scar. Meanwhile, Cruz can say he was ideologically steadfast and refused to support someone he didn't agree with, and he did so in a glaringly more divided party.

Keep in mind Kasich, Ryan, McCain and Romney all have yet to endorse Trump as well. If you don't agree with a candidate you shouldn't endorse them. An endorsement isn't just saying you support them. It's saying that on some level you agree with them. You don't really have to endorse anyone, and you shouldn't if you aren't absolutely sure you want to back them.

I refuse to support Mike Pence, on the stance alone that he refuses to support LGBT rights. As I believe he opposes basic human rights, I believe he is a poor choice for any position of power over America.

Personally I'm ashamed of everything I've seen so far, especially Bernie Sanders. For a man who prided himself on fighting for the American people, I can't believe he sold himself out to the thing we call the democratic nominee; I'm not against female presidents, but I prefer people who are real and it is sad that in todays world I have to even clarify this or be labeled a sexist because idk why. Worst of all was his explanation for why he backed Hilliary. Honestly, I think we are looking at maintaining the status que or throwing it all out the window and starting again. Personally, I think if Trump does win the election he's going to get killed in office, since a majority of people have this impression that he is the next Adolf Hitler. Trump isnt banning muslims. He clearly stated he wants to enforce strict checks to ensure those coming in arent islamic extremists. He even said so again in his speech last night. I think Hiliary will keep us on the same downward slope. Ive listened to just about every speech he had given, and Im not seeing the hate speech everyone keeps acusing him of. He isnt racist, and he is no where near another Hitler. He understands how frustrated upset people are with how our country works. I dont see any issues with his material, hes not telling us to go out and kill mexicans, or muslims. The fact he has claimed seeing Muslims celebrating during 9/11 a complete and total lie and has never been proven. Or the fact that he has made fun of a disabled reporter is in fact very hateful. Blaming mexico and China for americas bad economy is kind of silly for a man who has put many of his industrial business there.
