Brin switched the knife to a backhand grip. He had no idea if this made any difference to how Hailee might defend the attack, or even how he might himself execute the attack. But he had seen fighters on Corellia hold weapons like this, so he figured it must work.

"It might even worry Hailee a bit...if she thinks I know what I'm doing..." he thought to himself as he began bouncing on his feet and readying an attack.

This time, he dropped his left shoulder, as if he was trying to come around from one side before trying to shift his weight to the right, and hopefully catch the Jedi wrong footed. He tried to keep the knife in front of him, so that some of his power might be able to push through any defence. He aimed at the top of Hailee's left arm, trying to cut across it quickly.

Attentive eyes rested on her 'opponent'. She was still not going to make this easy for him. After all, she wanted him to learn and this was the safest environment for that. She analyzed every slightest hint of movement, however it slightly made her smirk as he switched his grip.

Now that was indeed a mistake...had he watched too many Gangster Holovids? A backhand grip was not exactly efficient, especially not for someone untrained and so before she even started, she bit her lip.

She instinctively saw through his attempted deceitful maneuver, not falling for his trick. "Nice idea" she praised him happily, yet she stepped into thr right direction with ease, her hand way faster than his, forcefully bringing it down like a chop, hitting his ankle before she could even get close, carefully avoiding the blade while trying to disarm him by fhe initial pain that would follow.

A risky maneuver from her side as well, yet she assumed she was agile enough to get through with it.

The attack left a lot to be desired. It came nowhere close really to the waiting Jedi. Brin felt his leg give way as a strike struck him below the knee. He tried not to yelp this time, but still didn't manage to keep hold of the blade, which clanged loudly to the floor as he reached down to hold his throbbing foot.

The pain quickly subsided and he knelt down to retrieve the knife, standing up and giving Hailee an embarrassed sideways glance.

"Not quite sure why I chose to do that" He explained..."No one really holds a knife like that do they?" He finished, giggling.

"One more time though? I think I'm getting the hang of this. Or at least learning what NOT to do."

Brin stood again and shook his arms out, holding the blade forwards this time. Instead of lunging this time, he closed Hailee slowly, not making any big or heavy movements, but instead trying to carefully move into a position where he could strike. He bobbed left and right gently on the balls of his feet, trying to find a small opening in the Jedi's defence.

He was disarmed in no time, as intended and a slighlty triumphant smirk crossed her lips, but not because she had managed to fight off his attack, but because it seemed like he was making huge progress.

She was truly proud of him, especially because he seems to grow more and more enthusiastic. Her eyes were still attentively studying him, but her smile broadened as he mentioned that he was feeling more confident himself.

"Yes...that grip wasn't exactly advantageous, but you are making huge progress!" she was trying to encourage him further as she knew that confidence was a powerful tool. "Then go for it! I want you to throw me off my -" she began, shifting her weight from one foot to the other, but the problem was that she was distracted for a short period of time.

It was just a second, but enough for him to catch her off guard. He had not made his attack yet, but his careful approach was unexpected and so there was a brief window of time in which he could plant his attack. He could exploit her defenses if he was quick enough and there would be nothing she could do this time, as she leg her gaze linger on his stance for a moment too long.

Brin had surprised himself with how his attack had seemed to have wrong footed the Jedi. He let his weight carry him forward, keeping his arm with the weapon in, close to him, and strong in the attack.

He saw the opportunity, Hailee's arm and shoulder exposed, he aimed his attack just above her elbow seeking to draw the blade across her arm.

There was her mistake. A glimpse of a second was all he needed to seize that chance. She had intentionally not fortified her movement with the Force, and so her normal, human reflexes were indeed not fast enough to pull away and so the blade grazed her skin indeed, letting the blonde Jedi gasp in surpise before she slighlty hissed at the burning sensation. "Oh kark. Ouch..I mean no! Don't worry, it's alright. Damn, that was still unexpected. It's not deep" she immediately assured him with a sheepish grin as she stepped back.

The cut was immediately turning into a deep red as the blood began to run out. Okay, admittedly it was deeper that expected and stung quite a bit, but she was eager to play it down. "That was...great. Quick reflexes! You exploited my flawed defense" she eagerly praised him while she quickly made her way over to a chair, sitting down to concentrate. She was not planing on letting any drops of blood running down, yet the wound seemed quite decent

Brin felt the blade catch on Hailee's arm as he slid past her. Initially he still wasnt convinced that he would be able to even get near the Jedi, let alone land the blow. But he realised quickly as the wound on her arm looked as if it would start to bleed, that he had actually caught her.

The first, immeadiate feeling of pride at having caught the Jedi quickly faded, as he realised he had actually cut her. Between Hailee's calm and reassuring words, Brin felt a huge sense of guilt building in him.

"Oh Gods..." He cried... "I didn't mean...I well...I DID mean, but I didn't think I could..."

He dropped the knife and ran out of the communal space towards the tiny med bay. He grabbed the medkit from the rusty cupboard and sprinted back to Hailee, who had perched herself on one of the chairs...

"Don't worry!" she had immediately shouted after him, but it seemed like the pilot was already worried and gone. He had darted off and she was assuming he would gather some medial equipment, but Hailee was hoping she would be able to fix herself before that anyway.

After she had said down she had quickly watched him run off before she had closed her eyes and tried to focus. Pêro's voice echoed through her head while she tried to focus on the light and the life flowing around. She knew she had to concentrate, otherwise she wouldn't be able to perform any healing as this was not even the easiest Force skill, but she was indeed lacking focus. "Oh come ooon" she whispered under her breath before she sighed, not only because the blood was already running down, but because he did not want him to freak out. "I'm okaaay" she shouted again, hoping that he wouldn't lose it now.

Brin jumped onto one the chairs next to Hailee and popped open the think metal casing of the medkit. He began rooting through the contents, scattering scissors, plasters and tape across the table.

He kept looking up at Hailee as he did so, saying "I'll find the bandage, there's some in here somewhere..." over and over.

Brin looked up at Hailee once more as he produced a small round green package from the box, but this time, he just looked curiously at the Jedi.

To him, it appeared like she was trying to concentrate on something, and his loud panicking was obviously disturbing her...

"Is this...is this what you were talking about Hailee? How you can heal yourself?"

Brin sat back in chair, and placed the bandage back into the medkit, slowly and quietly closing the lid. He stared at the wound on her arm, fascinated, almost willing the wound to close in his own head so he could witness it...

Somehow, it was extremely complicated to stay focused, but once she could finally gather enough concentration, Brin was back. She winced slightly, almost a little started as he had pulled her out of her thoughts. "I...uhm thank you, Brin, but it should be fine..." she softly began, however his panic and excitement was almost a little infectious.

Well, admittedly it definitely was and it slowly made it impossible for her tomstay focused. Again, she forced herself to breathe deeply and as the background noise faded, she could finally concentrate on the light within again. She covered the wound with a soft touch before she slightly raised her hand, the torn skin slowly but steadily mending itself. She exhaled, throwing him a grin. "Yes. That was it. It comes in quite handy if you need it" she admitted with a smirk, getting up to remove the rest of the fresh blood. "But that was really good" she praised him again, blaming over her shoulder while she washed herself, leaning over the sink.

Brin quietened down as Hailee sorted herself out. She went over to the sink and began tending to her, as Brin had an idea.

He wandered out of the common room and over to his cabin. Opening his wardrobe he slid his pistol out of the holster and made his way back to Hailee.

He was very careful to ensure he was carrying the pistol by the barrel, to make sure Hailee didn't get the wrong idea that she was suddelny being held hostage.

"Next game Hailee...show me how to disarm someone with a pistol..."

As soon as she was done, she straighted her back and rolled down the sleeve again, before she raced him with a grin. She had heard that he was wandering around and so she was excited to see what he had planned next.

As he returned, he sounded relatively enthusiastic about his endeavor and as he stated his request, she couldn't help but to chuckle. "Look at you...what a diligent padawan" she amusedly remarked. "Aim at me and I'll demonstrate, then it's your turn".
