DESCRIPTION
The TX-130 Saber is a light, fast repulsortank - sometimes referred to as a fighter tank - which was developed and produced by Rothana Heavy Engineering for the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. Forming the backbone of the Republic's armored striking force during the conflict, the Saber was meant for fast, penetrating attacks against enemy positions and formations, and was often used to exploit breakthroughs made by the GAR's heavy combat walkers and other large assault vehicles. It also made an effective scouting vehicle, being fast and well protected against small arms fire.

The TX-130 Saber is decently armed for its role, equipped with a pair of medium laser cannons as its main armament, mounted in vertically traversing barbettes on either side of the hull. Although they cannot be traversed from side to side independently of the tank, the Saber is quick and nimble enough to be able to turn and face any opponent it would need to shoot at. Other than this, the Saber is equipped with an anti-personnel blaster turret positioned by the commander's hatch, which can be operated from inside the tank by remote, or from outside by a set of manual controls. Finally, the tank has a set of multi-purpose grenade launchers, each with a range of about 75 meters, firing forward.

The Saber is operated by a crew of 4, including a driver, co-driver, gunner and vehicle commander. The vehicle has consumables sufficient for approximately 2 days of patrol or combat maneuvers, and can carry up to 20 tons of cargo, internally and externally. The vehicle's armor is relatively light for a repulsortank, but it is equipped with a deflector screen, making it essentially immune to hand blasters or really anything short of anti-tank weapons; grenades or other explosives tossed or rolled slowly enough to pass through the shield can be a threat, however, especially against the rear hatch, which is devoid of armor plating.

Despite their age, TX-130 Sabers can still be found in many parts of the Galaxy, used primarily by planetary militias, as well as certain criminal groups.

LEGALITY
Restricted. Though not the most powerful vehicle of their type in existence, TX-130 Saber repulsortanks are purpose-built combat craft, and are thus generally restricted from civilian ownership on most civilized worlds.

INTENT
To add a vehicle from canon to our site's fanon.

RESTRICTIONS
TX-130 Sabers are military vehicles, and their weapons can only be used in PVE/PVP against other vehicles and starships. They cannot be owned by individual characters, but can be acquired as a faction asset.
