Two Padawans

Well that was a total mistake. Emma Taylor Bryant had walked down an alleyway in one of the cities of Corellia only to next know that she was being shot at and that she was now on the run. Bounty hunters. Always trying to collect. Yeah, she had made a mistake a few years ago and she thought everyone had forgotten, but due to the fact that she had an angry and greedy bounty hunter pursuing her, the odds were not in her favor.

Sadly this man had a jet pack, so wherever she went, he was also able to... unless she was in space, but she didn't want to leave the planet at that time. Random people scattered out of the way as she came barreling through the streets, dodging stun blasts as they came. Then sensing a stun aimed right for her back, Emma turned quickly and in one swift move, she took her sabers off of her belt and ignited them in one move, blocking his blast. It disolved into her saber, but he then shot two more that she dodged on either side and then there was a bolt right for her chest and she blocked it back up at him as it then struck his jetpack.

The Bounty hunter started spinning out of control until his jet overheated and then exploded. When it did, Emma covered her eyes with her arm and then gave a sassy salute before sheathing her sabers and attaching them back to her belt. She'd already done this to three others in the same week, so it was more like a daily routine that she had been going through.

As Emma hooked her sabers to her belt, a familiar feeling of the force waved itself over her and she closed her eyes, trying to find where the force energy was coming from.

Cain was more of a lightsaber specialist than anything, but his mother had insisted he work on his force powers. So, instead of working out or practicing his form styles, he was now working on lifting two objects at once. He thought it was a waste of his time, why come to the gym of you werent going to hone your physical self? Still, at least he was alone for the tome being. As he felt himself start to get the hang of holding up two thirty pound weights up at once, a loud boom broke his concentration. The two weights clatter to the floor, causing the padawan to jump as he hurries to a window to see what is going on. He closes his eyes and reached out towards the scene before him, and is surprised to find a force presense amoung the people. This presense was honed, someone trained as apposed to the common stray force sensative. Who ever this presense was, they would be able to feel Cain's slight probing, and much like a bread trail, be able to trace it back to him.

After the bounty hunter exploded, his helmet was the only thing left behind and she made a face at it. It was just like him. The dang thing didn't give up even when you hurt it.

Upon feeling the force presence, Emma turned in the direction of where she felt the connection coming from and decided to follow it. It almost felt as if she was being pulled by the connection and she was feeling quite curious about it. About ten seconds later, she arrived to a gym. Giving a confused and curious look, she continued to follow the feeling, opening the door and walking in.

As she walked into the gym, the presence was definitely stronger here. Emma slowly took a few steps before taking a moment to check again. She wanted to know who this was that as now reaching out to her. It seemed to be coming from somewhere further in the gym, so she walked forward until she came to the doorway of the weight room and saw another boy close in age, staring out the window. Casually walking in, she continued walking in. She honestly hated how quiet she walked, but it definitely helped at times. Looking at the boy, Emma put her hands in front of her and grunted.

Seeing the young girl approach, Cain focused and found that she was indeed the one he had sensed. He did a quick inspection of the young girl, and for the most part she did not seem to be of the sith; that was always a positive in his book. She was also young, no older than perhaps he and his sister. As the girl entered the building, Cain would divert his gaze away from the window and towards her. He heard the doors whirl open, but did not hear the typical footsteps one would expect to hear. He was surprised to say the least when he found her standing before him without having made a single sound. The girl looks at him and grunts, as Cain tilts his head at her.
"Um.....hello?"
He says awkwardly. He hoped she spoke galactic standard, because he doubted she knew Ryl or Togruta.
He shifts uncomfortably, having been caught in his typical work out attire rather than the long robes and hoodies he wore so often. His skin was quite pale do to that, but his physical traits were by no means lacking.
He was curious why this girl had come to him, no doubt that was the reason. Though he also wanted to know why there was a small fire occuring just outside the building.
"Can....I help you?"
He says, not sure if this girl was perhaps a Sith Assassin in disguise. Cain doubted that, she lacked the standard darkside corruption or yellow eyes, but if she had caused that explosion out there he wanted to know why.

Emma gave a small smile as he saw her. She was no doubt partly shy, but she wasn't afraid to talk. She looked at him also and saw that he wasn't any type of Sith either and she loosened up a little bit upon finding this little piece of information thanks to the force.

"Uh, hi.."

she said in a calm and quiet tone. She was unsure of what to say, so she just kinda stood there for a second thinking. Emma saw that he had also been thinking hard and she swore that she had to say something more than hi. She wasn't very good with talking o people, but when she actually got talking, she was a very different person than what she was at the moment. Emma was able to see the fire outside that she had made by her little mishap and felt happy about what she did, but was also a little upset that he had pushed her hard enough to actually get himself killed. When the boy asked if he could help her, she shrugged.

"I don't know. For some reason I felt a presence through the force, I followed it and it led me to here and then you."

she said. She was a little nervous and uneasy, but she didn't visually show such thing.

 

[Algarus]

Cain nodded slowly.
"I see.....and...can I ask what that explosion out there was about?"
Once he received an awnser, he would let out a sigh and take a seat on one of the nearby benches. He was glad to see the girl relax a little, people being uptight always stressed him out.
"You know its not safe to follow random force presences? I mean....I could be a sith lord in disguise for all you know. Just saying."
He sighes once again, slightly iritated that his solitude had been disturbed.

Emma's smile widened the very slightest when he mentioned the explosion.

"Just my daily dose of getting rid of bounty hunters who don't seem to learn anything..."

she said in an innocent voice. She saw as he took a seat on one of the benches and listened to what he was saying. Yeah, it was true. She probably shouldn't have followed his presence, but she just couldn't help it.

"Yeah, I know.. you know when you get the feeling that you've just gotta follow something though? Kinda the same thing." she said. She heard him sigh and it sounded a little irritated. "Well, I'm sorry for interrupting.. whatever you were doing.." she said.

Cain shrugs off the girls apology and turns to face her.
"Don't be, its not a big deal. I hate practicing my force powers anyways."
He looks down at the floor for a moment. He was never good at talking to girls. He looks back up at her and smiles slightly, hoping to break the ice or whatever it was called.
"My names Cain, whats yours?"

Emma smiled when he said that it was ok.

"Really? Huh.. that's funny. I do too.. I prefer combat training."

she said in response to him not liking force training. Growing up, it was definitely hard and it always made her head hurt. She had gotten better at it, but it still hurt her head anytime she'd try to focus real hard.

"I'm Emma. It's nice to meet you, Cain."

Emma responded. When she saw him smile, she smiled back, looking down towards the floor for a second.

Cain did a mental fistbump in his head as he heard Emma's response. Finally someone who understood his struggles!
"Emma? Thats a nice name."
He says plainly.
Seeing her gaze drop, Cain sighs and brushes away a strand of hair that covers his eyes. The sounds of panic began to die off outside, as Cain assumed that everything had been settled now.
"So...did you want to practice with me or something? I mean.....we might as well do something right?"
He suggests, seeing that no other option is avaliable. He was eager to test his skills against her, Tamara had refused to spar with him after the last session ended with her being knocked out for three hours, so it was important that he find someone to practice with; his mother far surpassed him after all, not to mention she didnt pull her strikes.

Emma smiled as Cain responded to her saying her name.

"Thanks. Cain is a nice name too."

she said in response. She had never heard the name before and she liked it. As she looked back up to him, she saw him pull his hair away from his eyes as he then started asking her if she'd like to practice with him. Smiling she nodded. It'd been a long time since she practiced with another Padawan and her master was very firm with her combat training.

"Yeah, sure. That sounds good to me. My new master has been pushing hard with the combat training, so it'll be nice to have someone else who's a little bit more calm.."

she said, rubbing the arm he burned a few days ago.

Calm? Cain almost laughed as he heard that. He was more of a hothead than anything, though right now he was in a good mood. He gets up from the bench and bekons Emma to follow him.
"Awesome. Come on, we gotta go to the back. People freak out when they see this."
He says with some amusement. The room he would lead her too was one typically reserved for gymnastics, but hardly anyone ever was here. Balance beams, a high bar, and a few practice mats were scattered about the room, as it was a decent sized room about fifty or so feet across. Cain would lock the door behind them, and take Emma out to the center where a few practice mats had been dragged out by he and his sister. There were three in total, and they took up about a quater of the room.
"So, we typically spar here. If you go off the mat you lose, but me and my sister sometimes mess around on the balance beam for fun. Also make sure its on stun, my sister almost killed me one time when shr forgot to switch hers over."
Cain states as he takes his new partner out to the center mat and switches his weapon to stun. He would take up his stance once Emma seemed ready and, being the gentleman, would let Emma go first.

When Emma said calm, she meant less harsh with the strikes and the.. well everything. As he stood up, he motioned for her to follow, so she did. When he said people freaked out about something, she giggled.

"Really?"

she asked slightly surprised. Just from meeting Cain, she was getting the feeling that she was going to like this kid. They already had a few things in common. They loved combat training, both Padawans and both had humor one way or another. As he lead her to the gymnastics room, she had a tiny smile on her face as she saw all of the gymnastic stuff. She could probably spend a whole day in here doing flips and practicing her acrobatics.

"Oh cool. And don't worry, my master warns me about it everyday we practice. I've already got the stun thing down."

she said before she then pulled her sabers from her belt, holding them at hip length before then igniting and setting them to stun and then spinning them into a backhand style.

 

[Algarus]

"Really?"
Cain smiles at the girls excitment. Whenever Tammy got like this it was annoying, but perhaps this girl just caught him on a good day.
"Yes really, people lose their minds if they see us fighting like that. Last time they called the police because they were worried about a sith being in the area. People, you know?"

Seeing Emma ignite her sabers, Cain did as well. His amber colored blade came to life, as he studied Emma's stance. Seeing some of Demj So in her positioning he smiled.
"People usually dont use that form with two lightsabers. I think thats pretty neat if you figured out how to make it work."

Emma laughed, shaking her head slightly at what he had said.

"Yeah, no kidding. It's hard to believe how much people over react recently."

It was true. People always reacted and dramatized everything when they saw something out of order. It was almost like they had to be clean freaks with only tons of rules, but no fun. Luckily if there were people like Cain and Emma, they could be alot of fun and generally broke the rules.. unless it was rules from the Jedi... As Cain noticed her positioning, he noticed that she still used the Djem So stance.

"Heh, yeah. I use that with a mix of Ataru. Master wasn't very thrilled when he heard that I used Djem So, but he let me. He kinda helped me make it work."

she said in response. In truth he really wasn't very happy about it, but he had told Emma that if that's what she had been trained in and that's what was engraved in her head, he told her to go for it. Then, twisting them, she came forward, her left boot coming to the mat and her left saber coming towards his shoulder to her left, while she kept her right hand by her side for back up.

Cain reacted quickly, surprised at how fast Emma moved. He jerked to the side as Emma's first strike nearly grazed his shoulder while he threw up a slash aimed at her right shoulder. This was a game of counter attacking now, one that Cain was most likely going to lose unless he got rid of that extra saber.

Emma saw as he dodged her strike and then sent one towards her right shoulder. Blocking it, Emma ducked under both blades, basically bringing his blade to her left and then let go of his, spinning as she then took a strike towards him and if he blocked in time her Blue and Green blades would form an X on top of his.

 

[Algarus]

Cains eyes snapped to the approaching saber on his side. Using a burst of force speed, the padawan brought his blade to bare against Emma's own. He was taken aback at how strong she was, as he found himself having to exert himself to keep their sabers locked.
"W-wow....your....not bad...."
He grunts out, as Cain fights for a better postion to break the stalemate.

Emma was definitely strong and that was mainly due to all of the training she had endured from a master who was a few feet or inches taller than her, but was strong enough to probably pick her up with one hand. She noticed that he was quite surprised with how she fought She honestly thought that she wasn't that strong, but if he thought so, it must have been true, because he was kinda struggling with standing at the moment.

"Thanks. You're not too bad yourself."

She said, giving a friendly smile. Even thought they were 'battling' she always kept a good nature and kept good sportsmanship when it came to this kind of stuff. She learned that it was important to not get too worked up over these kinds of battles because it really made no sense and there was no point in fighting if you only came to win, because you had to lose to win.

Cain smiled, and slowly began to let Emma push him back. He did his best to make it seem as if she was over powering him, before ducking under her sabers and kicking her feet out from under her. If this manuever worked, he would bring his saber to her neck, a cocky grin adoring his face as he would assume he had defeated her just as he did his sister.
