Ask Two Jedi in Adumar

[Elidan]

For many, Adumar was considered by many a planet with little importance. Located at the edge of Wild Space, the entire planet seemed to be obsessed with rigid hierarchy and duels. Really, every small dispute was solved by dueling between the two parts. Then even had sports based on it.

Elidan wasn’t really a big fan of this dueling culture, he was healer after all. However, he heard that the local government had trouble with some rebels. They had been trying to remove the current ruler and some violent skirmishes started, with civilians suffering in the middle of all this. It was obvious that the half-Annfyn wasn’t going to let them suffer.

He traveled to the planet with the purpose of helping heal the wounded. At the moment, Elidan was in one of the improvised hospital tents in an area that was attacked by the rebels. He had already healed a group of civilians, but there were still many others in the line. Even the medical droids and doctors were busy.

The Knight wondered when this conflict would end.

[Natalie Hope]

Every time Natalie thought the galaxy was becoming calmer and more peaceful, some planet had to ruin it. This time was Adumar, which apparently was a planet of people that really loved duels. Just getting off of her ship, Natalie had inadvertently insulted a man and then had to knock his lights out when he pressed the issue of a duel on her. Rocked his jaw pretty good though. Well at least dueling was fun- or brawling. Natalie could go for a good brawl. Not the kind the rebels seemed to have been getting up to though.

Natalie strode into the medical tent, wearing her usual black tank top and dark jeans with her lightsaber clipped to her right hip. She ran her fingers through her shoulder length chestnut hair as she looked around at the injured. Looked like the rebels meant business. Lots of injuries of all sizes all around. The medical staff seemed tapped out too. She'd heard there was a Jedi around, because of course there was. Trouble in paradise? Jedi! Rebels blowing things up? Jedi! It was a good thing though. The galaxy needed more Jedi helping out.

"Can anyone tell me what the rebels want and why the government doesn't want them to have it?" Natalie asked loud enough for the entire tent to hear. "Or where I can find the leaders of both." Choice words would be had. Maybe a fist or two. A good "get your shit together" talking to is what the planet needed.

[Elidan]

Elidan was calmly finishing putting bandages around the wounds of a woman when he heard a commotion in the entrance of the tent. The Knight frowned, wondering what all that could be. He saw the chief doctor walking toward this direction and shrugged. They would be able to deal with whatever was happening here, the Jedi had more important things to do, such as finishing with this person and going to help the next one.

Then the person at the entrance started to talk too loud.

The half-Annfyn turned back to where the sound was coming. Who did that person think that they were? It was a medical tent. Loud sounds would disturb the patients and affect their recovery. Elidan wasn’t going to stand it. He rose from where he was seated, attended to the woman and walked toward the entrance. One of the medical droids would need to cover him.

He arrived at the entrance right on time to see the chief doctor explaining to the loud mouthed individual, a woman, that the rebels were fighting against the government due to a crisis in their economy resulting from corruption. Classic stuff, Elidan thought.

When he got close enough to the woman, Elidan noticed that she had a lightsaber. Damn, was she a Jedi? She was going to make the Order look bad. “Excuse me, miss. Can you speak lower?” he signed, while his droid translated it. “We are in a hospital. There are people with pain and they need to rest.”

[Natalie Hope]

At first no one moved a muscle to her questions. Then the head doctor came over and started explaining the situation. Corruption, economy, rebels not liking the man. Classic indeed. Still, she had some choice words for both party’s leadership. People were dying over economy; one would thing a civilized place would have learned to vote different policies in that had checks and balances. Gross, when did Natalie become a voice of reason?

Then someone else came over. Their hands a blur of movement that had Natalie’s jaw dropping ever more with every second and a look of bewilderment etched across her face. If it wasn’t for the droid translating, she would have no idea what they were trying to say. Natalie blinked at them a couple of times, picked her jaw up and regained some of her composure.

“Them being in the hospital is why I’m here,” she said, now in a lower tone. She pointed at the lightsaber on her hip. “More people are going to end up in this hospital unless something is done about the leadership.” Simple math. Bad leadership, plus asperations, multiplied by time, equals many many many hurt people. A tale as old as time.

[Elidan]

”Yes, but you could have talked lower. Like you are doing now.” Elidan signed, grateful that apparently the woman had understood the situation. Really, what type of Jedi entered a hospital screaming more than a howler of Yavin IV? Someone should have taught her better manners.

“I’m Jedi Healer Elidan. I came here to help the people that got hurt during the attacks. What is your name?” he asked, also not having an idea of who the woman was and not wanting to continue mentally calling her as loudmouth Jedi during the rest of the conversation. However, he thought that this nickname suited her perfectly.

“Then you are here to help stop the conflict.” it was good, the locals really needed help with it. The government seemed to be completely lost, having no idea of what they should do to stop the rebels. “Do you have a plan?”
