Many of their kind had gone off to raid the Wookiees in their villages. The slaughter of barely sentient living carpets echoed through the force to J’aver, they relished in their suffering. But J’aver hadn’t come to this world to hunt the locals, they had come for worthy prey. While many Jedi had spread across the world to defend the weak and worthless, the greatest among them had stayed, to defend their bastion on Kashyyyk. J’aver felt warriors worth of their attentions there.

Dozens Sith moved through the underbrush of the trees on the approach to the temple grounds. They moved not in coordinated squads, rather in loosely concerted hunting packs. Each member less a wolf concerned about the whole pack and more lone predators temporarily working together to wound larger prey. This suited J’aver perfectly, none of their compatriots mattered to them. The other Sith were all ultimately expendable in pursuit of their own goal, killing as many Jedi Knights and Padawans as possible.

A chime echoed in J’aver’s ear as a sultry voice echoed over a closed comm in their helmet.

Kill as many Knights and Padawans as you crave.” The feminine voice began. “But do not lose sight of our goals.” The Sith Master overseeing this ‘operation’ hissed. “Do not kill the younglings, they are to be captured and taken with us.” She reminded the Champions who enacted her will.

J’aver’s eyes rolled before they hissed in annoyance. Butchery wouldn’t reign supreme on this day it seemed.

Moments later the Jedi, already dealing with Hapan foot soldiers attempting to storm their compounds would see another insidious threat as it broke through the forest line. Figures armored or robed in black, crimson sabers in their tightened grasp, the Sith had come for their revenge.

Moments later, the Sith would charge the steps of the temple, J’aver amongst them. Murderlust sang in their mind, finally their bloodthirst would be sated and their passion fulfilled.

Open pvp capped at 3v3 for both sides.

It’d been ages since Ferrin had last been to Kashyyyk. Despite the dangers and horrific weather, the Wookiee homeworld was the source of positive memories for the Pantoran - ultimately connecting him to the people he cared about most in life. The thought of such devastation caused his stomach to churn, and drove him to quickly mobilize with the rest of Scrub Squad.

Far from the cautious type, Ferrin was among the first to arrive in defense of Kashyyyk. While Ezra had gone off to defend a village under siege, the Pantoran, Leon and Dash had been left to defend the temple itself. He was adorned in his own Knight armor - shades of yellow clashing against the azure of his skin, while the emblem of the Order was etched into his pauldron. The hilt of his lightsaber hung at his belt, it’s crystal humming in tune with the Force.

Wookiees and Jedi alike had gathered at the steps of the temple - preparing to repel whatever force had assembled against them. Despite the threat of the Queen-Mother, it didn’t take long for the Sith to capitalize on the opportunity. They stalked the temple grounds like scavengers, looking to strike while the bulk of their forces were distracted.

The Pantoran wordlessly moved to the front - drawing the saber from his hilt. The yellow blade of plasma snapped to life, casting its glow or warmth across the steps. There were no words exchanged between those that approached, his golden eyes narrowed harshly upon the Sith. He hadn’t been able to protect Ithor or those at the Temple - but he would defend Kashyyyk with all he had.

Alright Peetwo, remember the plan, get somewhere with a good view out of sight and record as much of the battle as you can. If I don’t come back, find Ezra,” Leon’s verdant gaze looked out the entrance of the Temple, “He’ll know what to do.

The little droid reluctantly bobbed it’s head and Leon moved to regroup with the squad.

Kashyyyk.

The original testing ground for Leon as a padawan. The planet where he gained experience not training. The place where he’d earned the “X” shaped scar on his cheek. The place he’d become a Jedi. The Hapan interlopers charged across hallowed ground like a ravenous horde. The ground forces surged to meet them. The clash sounded a mangled symphony of rage, pain, and guttural howls. Then Baudelaie’s verdant gaze fell on the Sith.

Instinctively he fell in beside Ferrin. Simultaneously their blades came to life. Leon was dressed for war. Over his usual mission gear he donned a set of dueling armor. He carried Daybreak, his primary blade, and Moonlight, his cross guard shoto. Each blade the color of it’s namesake. Around his waist he had his utility belt and his 375 Python Heavy Blaster.

So, that’s what you look like in real armor, huh.” Leon said with a sidelong glance at the Pantoran.

It’d be weird if Baudelaire was serious before a battle right?

Dash had been in the wrong place at the wrong time a lot lately. He was on Kro Var when Ezra needed him on Thyferra. He was trapped in Mortis when the Jedi needed him on Ithor. This time, he would not be late. He would be there and these goons would know it.

He slid down one of the temple's stone terraces, landing deftly on a ledge above the entrance. The Rhinnialian had raced to Kashyyyk as soon as he had heard about the attack, even playing a part in getting Ezra there too (@Sreeya ). He worried about his man already, but Ez was the strongest person he knew, in every way that mattered. They had hugged and gone to battle, their duties more important than themselves. It still weighed heavy, but Dash was no excitable padawan anymore. He could carry it. He must.

The Hapans were pretty. That was all Dash could say for them. The few bare faces shining beneath the helmets bursting from the trees were nice to look at, but after today he was going to look at them completely differently. Kashyyyk was a peaceful world - witches and Sayoomashi aside - and the Wookiees deserved none of this slaughter. Even if the Jedi hadn't had a temple to protect, Dash would have felt moved to help the poor things.

He tightened a strap on his armor, flexing his fingers. He had meditated for most of the hyperspace trip here and was already buzzing with energy. Part of him hoped it would be enough; he could see Leon and Ferrin down below and felt a pang of need. They had to get through this. They just had to.

Light on the horizon drew his blue eyes. Red sabers flared, heralding Sith advancing toward the temple. Dash did not have time to work out if they were in league with the Hapans, but the knot in his stomach tightened. None of them were getting in, not if he had anything to say about it.

They were too far away just yet but Dash breathed deep and drew on the Force, gathering his strength. He felt the moisture on the air and on the ground like an extension of himself.

Years ago he had come to Kashkyyyk as a boy. He had returned a man. Before the day was out, their enemy would know it.

There would be no escape except for the lucky and no survivors except for the unlucky. Only Padawans were to be spared from the cold embrace of death today. The Sith Champion known as Serene Graves strode swiftly, calmly and with purpose behind the first wave of dark siders charging towards the Temple. She was keen to let them display their enthusiasm. Whilst the first wave was intent on clashing at high speed with the chaotic lines of Hapan, Wookiees and Jedi, Serene had other plans in mind.

On her left hip two hilts remained dormant. One belonged to Seren's lightfoil, while the other was the woman's shoto lightsaber. Her primary saber hilt was held presently in her right hand in almost a casual manner. It activate only after she took a few steps out of the tree line, the crimson light cast her armored right side in a similarly hued glow. Hidden beneath her robes on the small of her back were a pair of throwing repulsor vibroblades but aside from that the Champion did not have any additional weapons.

Even if the Hapan men and women seemed rather attractive, Serene felt she was the sickest Sith on this side of Serenno and so felt no insecurity when it came to her own looks. The debatably less beautiful Jedi were easy to spot as they tried to defend their bastion of hope while the Hapan uniforms made it obvious who was on which side despite the Sith not having a strict dress code. They would all look like corpses soon enough.

Some jedi were fighting with blasters while some lightsabers at the ready. With her own weapon at the ready the Champion expected to attract attention just like her own eye was drawn towards the blue and green beams of light that denoted a Jedi, one even was wielding two simultaneously it would seem. With her own aggression building, Serene willed the dark side to focus around the palm of her left hand and beginning to coalesce.

Following behind the Hapan forces Trael donned his armor. On his hips were a pouch with throwing daggers and two hilts. Though padawans were deemed killable the Sith wasn't here for easy prey. His targets were the knights and masters of the temple.

Though the Hapans were known for their beauty he paid them no mind. They were pawns in this game. To be discarded when their purpose had been served. Though the free army wasn't something he would complain about.

The first wave of Sith crashed upon the defenders. Watching intently as he strides towards the fray, keeping a steady pace still unarmed. Taking in the pain and suffering from the battles on the planet. Then he sees it, a target a Jedi wielding a double bladed lightsaber.

The Jedi had cut down two Sith by himself. He was a skilled duelist someone to test his skills on. His sabers humming to life as they are called to their masters grasp. The Sith simply walking towards his foe prepared to pounce once he felt the fighting style had been recognized.

J’aver’s self control barely held as they dashed through the line of Hapan soldiers alongside a dozen or so of their brothers and sisters. A mechanized bark of laughter sounded from the grill of their helmet as J’aver flung themself into the front line of temple defenders and the blood haze overtook them.

J’aver buried themself in the front lines of defenders, they operated on pure instinct, savagery, and malice. Their crimson blade lashed out in cruel arcs and pitiless thrusts, each of which dismembered or mortally wounded a defender. The only moments where the potent mixture of adrenaline and the raw Dark Side cleared for J’aver, were in the moments their lightsaber found killing blows. Each time their laughter intensified as they relished the sensation of a life ending in suffering, hate, and fear.

However, in the depths of their maddened frenzy a sensation tugged at the edges of their mind. The tall tale sensation of a being drawing on the Force itself. It was a beacon in the madness of battle, a light that drew not just moths in but terrible predators as well. J’aver found their eyes drawn to a blonde haired Jedi at the top of the stairs, that was the source. From behind their helmet J’aver bellowed a wrathful challenge towards the being as they pushed themself from the throng and ran towards worthy prey.

The sound would reach the Jedi as a vox distorted scream of rage and madness. Less than a heart beat later a darkly clad, gore slicked figure would push through the rear lines of defenders and make a reckless dash up towards him. The crimson lightsaber in their hand and raw spite rippling from their presence ensuring their affiliation was known.

As it grew closer, this creature’s gauntleted hand would jut forth and grasp towards the blonde jedi. With a single ripping motion it would bend the dark side to its will, a pained cry echoed within the force itself in reply, as it was made to rip the Jedi towards this twisted creature. As the figure did this, the lightsaber in the other hand of this creature would thrust out in a cruel attempt to impale it’s prey by catching him off guard and overwhelming him with sheer force.

As it did this, the vox on it’s helmet would crackle and pop back to life with a single shrieked cry.

DEATH TO THE JEDI!

Dash looked on steadfast as the Hapan soldiers engaged with the Jedi's outer defenses, blaster bolts ricocheting through the air and blades of steel and light flashing amidst the struggle. The Hapans were highly trained, but the Jedi were too. They were fighting to defend something that really mattered and would not give ground easily, Dash just knew it.

But though the Hapans were aggressors, the Sith were the true terror. The crimson blades crackling to life reminded Dash all too well of Berchest, of the otherworldly evil one Sith had unleashed on he and his friends. He actually spat on the ground in disgust. What did they get out of it? Why be such a vile thing that you have to die?

As if in answer, one of the things slashing about wildly down below suddenly broke through the ranks and seemed to make a beeline for Dash. It snarled like a dog and the Rhinnlian's smooth features twisted in revulsion.

The thing came at him fast, but it was a fair distance and the Knight had been watching from the start, his connection to the Force open and pulsing.

He was already bringing his fist up before the thing got close, unleashing a razor sharp torrent of ice square at it, quick enough to drive the Sith back before it got close. Dash was an experienced Knight, but all in the Order agreed his cryokinetic abilities in particular were equal to any Master. The sharp fractals would almost certainly draw blood.

He leapt to one side, igniting his crooked blue saber and readying his next attack. Today, it was kill or be killed.

Hapan, Jedi and Sith clashed with one another. The fear of death, the hesitation in the face of the sadistic dark siders was palpable to Serene as she took one imperious step after another. The dark side of the force swirled for a moment longer through the woman's left arm before she channeled it into a burst of Sith lightening.

Threatening blue lightening shot rapidly from the woman's limb over the heads of the Hapan troops on the steps, aiming to catch the dual wielding Jedi in the chest. (@Zay ) The powerful burst would be channeled and dragged over to the Pantoran Jedi beside them. (@Altaris ) If neither of them did anything they would both likely be blasted from their feet and sent flying onto the floor or any hard objects behind them.

With each step the Sith Champion was brought closer towards her prize. The goal was to sow chaos, to kill Jedi and to take padawans. After letting lose her torrent of electrical devastation, Serene swept her blade up to deflect a blaster bolt from an about-facing Hapan. At least someone seemed to have noticed her. Unfortunately the blaster bolt would be batted away into the cadaver at his feet. He was lucky she had not been focused on reflecting the bolt or else the Hapan would have lost his life from his own weapon. Without losing a step, Serene continued to approach. Flee, submit, or die. The Queen Mother understood that so hopefully her troops did as well. But for now, the majority seemed content to war against the Jedi and Wookiees.

Jedi side timed out but no attacks made previously so no autohits ;-) ask for an extension if you think you'll need it in the future.

The grip of the dark side, the thrust of burning crimson, nor the murderous battle cry ever occurred. The Jedi’s mustered power was unleashed in a lance of frozen fury that jetted forth to bring ruin on J’aver. The Force being unleashed from the Jedi caused an instinctual response from J’av. Their hand still unleashed the potent and corruptive energy of the dark side but the target was no longer the blonde Jedi.

J’av swiped their gauntleted hand in a vicious backhanded slamming motion away from their body. As they did this, they bent the Force to their will and a blast of telekinetic energy would slam into the trail of ice as it raced towards them in the same direction as the swiping motion J’aver had made. The attack would blow off chunks of the summoned trail, momentarily stuttering its growth and blunting some of the dangerous shards. The force-spawned ice swayed at the impact and chunks of ice blew backwards, clattering onto the stairs.

COWARD!” J’aver screamed as they did this, a fleshy pop audible even through their vox grill as it whined. It struggled to control the volume emanating from it.

Less than a heart beat later, J’av would push off the balls of their feet into a small sidelong, lateral leap. This would be in the opposite direction of where they slammed the ice. In combination with their unleashed power, it would be enough to evade most of the telegraphed assault by their opponent. Shards of terrible ice, blunted as it was punctured their armor, carved through the armorweave body suit and dug shallow wounds into their forearm as it swung outward.

The pain lit J’aver’s nerves as the crystal clear ice was stained red on its edges. J’aver embraced the pain as a part of battle, they allowed themself to relish in it momentarily. Then, J’av continued their charge towards the Jedi Knight. As the gap closed, J’av would swing their lightsaber upwards in a deadly arc towards their opponent. The crimson blade super heated the stone stairs and carved through them as if they weren’t even there. Unless blocked, the blade would easily carve through the Jedi’s leg just below the knee and up through the opposing thigh.

DIE JEDI FILTH!” They howled in the throes of spite and bloodlust.

Finally seeing an opening trael pounced on the Jedi stabbing it in the back. Noticing his fellow sith hitting the two on the stairs and leaving them open he decides to use the advantage given.

Leaping up with the force he throws one of his sabers towards the blue one (@Altaris) Landing just outside of melee range of the one with two sabers (@Zay) calling back the saber weather it hits or is deflected by the other Jedi.

Ferrin readied himself as the Sith continued to approach the Temple steps - emerging from the jungle and clear view. The Pantoran briefly flicked his gaze towards the screeching lunatic that approached Dash, but only allowed his gaze to linger for a moment. Instead, Ferrin focused on the electrical assault launched by Serene - crackling viciously through the air.

Tilting his own lightsaber to cross his body, Ferrin blocked the torrent of Lightning at once - allowing strands of electricity to terminate into the blade of plasma. Lightning was a strenuous ability, and Serene was only a Champion. The fact that she attempted to chain the attack to both himself and Leon made it significantly easier to defend against.

Keeping his own saber positioned defensively, Ferrin turned his attention to the Sith Champion dramatically leaping through the air. Rather than move his saber to defend against the incoming throw, the Pantoran reached out with the Force - seizing hold of the hilt. With a flick of his wrist, the Pantoran altered the trajectory of the weapon and sent it hurtling towards Serene like a buzzsaw - aiming to bisect her at chest level.

The fact that the blade was coming from her own side - in combination with any followup from Leon, Serene would be hard pressed to maintain a flawless defense.

Assuming the torrent of lightning came to an end, Ferrin kept his lightsaber positioned defensively over the front of his body - prepared to engage Tael if necessary.

The battle surged like a tidal wave before him. Baudelaire deflected blaster bolts and barked orders to the soldiers and warriors pressing in around them. Leon plunged himself into The Force. He breathed in the preternatural power. The warmth of the Light filled his body, its guidance motivating his movements.

Sith lightning cracked overhead. Baudelaire plunged his weapons into the force, crossing both weapons in front of him in a cross shape as he absorbed the blast into his blades. As the torrent of energy dissipated Leon transitioned into gathering the force to him.

In the meantime the Sith began to swarm.

A reverberating hum cut across the battlefield as a newcomer decided to enter the fray. Ferrin redirected the attack toward the being who’d cast the lightning (@Darasuum).

The new attacker landed just out of Leon’s range, but that didn’t make them safe.

Imbued with the Force Leon launched forward toward the Sith (@Javier esschoolbus). Leon slashed diagonally from shoulder to hip with his primary saber, while keeping his shoto at the ready primed to defend or capitalize.

Dash had really gone for the Sith, and thought he had it. But the beast lashed out with its own Force attack, halting much of the ice in its tracks with a crack like a cannon blast. The Sith leapt aside, but Dash smiled with grim satisfaction as Force imbued shards dug into its arm.

You’re the one bleeding“ Dash hissed, as the Sith came back at him, charging up the stone steps with his upward strike, Dash leaned down towards them, swinging his own blue blade down to block the blow. The Rhinnalian didn’t weigh much, but his saber had momentum and gravity was on his side. The block would be robust.

His free hand reached down to the stone beneath their feet, his instinctive ice racing down the surface under the Sith. The steps would quickly morph into a slide and the creature would be hard pressed not to lose its footing. When it did, Dash would put an end to its miserable existence.

Even caught in the bloodlust that sang in their mind, J’aver was no fool. As the Jedi leaned forward and swung their saber downwards to meet their own, J’aver reacted. The Jedi’s momentum, positioning, and overconfidence would betray him in a moments notice. His entire posture hinged on the connection of their blades, J’aver ensured that friction simply wouldn’t be there.

Trakata.

In the fraction of a second before their blades connected, J’aver’s would vanish with dull hiss. The deactivation of their blade would only be momentary, just long enough for their saber to bypass the Jedi’s defense. Then it would reactivate within the Jedi’s guard and continue in an adjusted horizontal arc. If the Jedi didn’t react quickly, the threat of losing not only both legs, but given the fact he was reaching downwards towards ground, an arm as well.

As J’aver did this, his own freehand would move out quickly. They utilized the Dark Side, bent it to their will and once again jerked the Jedi towards them. This wasn’t a pull strong enough to send them slamming into one another. Rather an attempt to catch the Jedi while he was off-balance, but also to prevent them from truly concentrating on the Force.

J’aver howled in rage and in premature victory. They would sunder this Jedi, render him useless to aid his allies. Then he would be made to feel the deaths of his compatriots before succumbing to the wounds J’aver had left him with. And J’aver would relish in the man’s emotional, mental, and physical anguish.

These actions would occur quickly. Dash’s attempt to transform the stairs into an icy slope was no small task. It would likely take a few seconds to accomplish, seconds that would be denied him. The combination of his own blade positioning for the block and due to him leaning forward to touch the ground would be what potentially sealed his fate. The Trakata maneuver would essentially deny Dash the friction he expected and safety he needed to accomplish his goal. This is accomplishable due to, Dash leaning forward which ensured his own blade would end in a more vertical position. The final hammer-stroke would be the Force Pull that J’aver employed, which was designed to ensure the Jedi was off-balance and unable to utilize their icy prowess.

Trael seeing the Jedi’s attack moves to the side while angling his saber downwards causing the jedi to simply cut along it and miss while the deflection is happening he calls his saber to him igniting it. “You’re a bold one Jedi.” His voice mechanically altered. As the Jedi saber goes past the one used to deflect he slices downward moving to disarm the Jedi. Seeing the other Jedi still ready for combat he launches a force push toward the one in front of him trying to gain distance. (@Zay)

After this he moves to a defensive stance his sabers angled high and low. Preparing for a potential two front assault.

Bright blue branches of electricity connected first with the crossed sabers of Jedi Knight Baudelaire before moving to the Knight Sipal beside him. However the assault of lightning would have a similar effect and be blocked by the bright pillar of energy emitted from the Knights' hilts.

The woman ended her burst of Sith Lightning after it was clear it would only serve as a lightshow. The pulsating tendrils of danger ceased as quickly as they had spread out from her fingertips. Barely lowering her arm for a moment, Serene raised the limb a second and claimed the repurposed lightsaber of Trael for herself if it continued towards her. However with the original owner reclaiming it, Serene utilized the Dark Side to lash out at the @Ferrin Sipal who dared to attack her.

Her left hand raised to her index and thumb, a small pinching action. While it seemed like a minor motion at a distance, weak even to the untrained eye, it was just a conduit with which the Champion willed the pressure to build around the Pantoran’s throat. It would feel like a spectral vice was slowly collapsing his windpipe, concentrated like a small band intent on eventually crushing the Jedi’s windpipe with an invisible death.

The malicious force attack against the man’s windpipe was by no means lethal at first but it was certainly a pain and meant to inspire fear. The rest of the surroundings were certainly rife with terror. The woman intended for her choking motion to even raise the Jedi off the ground if he did not resist but knew that her powers were not that great, yet at least. None-the-less, Ferrin would feel the pressure build with each passing step as Serene drew nearer and it would take a slightly greater degree of effort to move from his place.

Serene knew the two jar’kai enthusiasts would have a better fight one on one. Flashes of ice and hammering impacts of the Force remained in Serene’s peripheral vision as Champion Shi’eth fought his own lightsider. The Hapan were mostly being left alone to attack the Jedi but still suffered from the chaos the dark side wrought.

The decreasing proximity was only allowing Graves to grow stronger. Not for a moment did Serene stop walking. Her purposeful stride took her over one cadaver, then another. Past rock and rubble, past fire and blood, the devastation of the Jedi temple was inevitable.

@Altaris @Apollyon @Alhon @Zay @Javier esschoolbus

Serene keeps walking toward the base of the steps like a boss and will safely grab the redirected lightsaber if Trael doesn’t grab it. Otherwise Seren begins to force choke Ferrin as she approaches.

Unlike his allies, Ferrin had the advantage of not being directly engaged quite yet - allowing the Pantoran to keep his attention spread across the battlefield. This was war - and the Sith would quickly find that the Pantoran had no intention of fighting fair or honorable as the Temple behind them was threatened.

Immediately after redirecting the Lightsaber, Ferrin turned his attention towards Dash and J’avier, lifting his free hand towards the Sith. Just as J’avier lunged forward to conduct his upward slash, Ferrin flicked his wrist - telekinesis coiling around the Champion in an attempt to send him tumbling down the stairs. Given the intensity of their duel, the Sith would be hard pressed to notice what was happening or defend himself in time.

If successful, the throw would move J’avier in the opposite direction of his swing, aiming to interrupt the slash to Dash’s legs - or merely give his fellow Jedi adequate time to respond.

Only moments later, Ferrin felt the pressure that began to coil around his throat - immediately forcing his attention back to defending himself. His golden gaze immediately flicked back to the only Sith who remained engaged in the fighting - refusing to give into the fear and panic she attempted to elicit.

Instead, Ferrin reached out with the Force himself, targeting the ground directly beneath Serene’s feet. The surface of Kashyyyk was often moist and waterlogged, and it allowed the Pantoran to seize hold and throw a broad wave of viscous mud and rocks upwards, directly into her face and eyes. The broad nature of the wave would ensure that merely sidestepping wouldn’t remove her from the splash zone.

If successful, the earth attack would almost certainly blind the Sith Champion - in addition to pelting her body with rocks. While not particularly lethal, Ferrin’s intention was largely to interrupt the choke. She would either be blinded and interrupted by what Ferrin was doing, or break focus while attempting to dodge.

There were few things in the galaxy Leon Baudelaire was confident in. His bladework sat at the top of this list.

As his pale yellow blade arched downward, the Sith (@Javier esschoolbus) pivoted, raising his saber in defense at a downward angle.

Daybreak slammed into his enemy's lightsaber near the hilt pressing the blade downward toward the Sith’s body while Moonlight, Leon’s secondary blade, snaked out lightning fast attempting to sever the arm holding the blade at the elbow while the Sith’s hubris sought to reclaim his secondary weapon.

As the Sith closed with him, several things happened at once. As Dash swung his blade down to meet his attacker, the Sith's blade flicked off and on, straight past his own. At the same time, a sudden force grabbed him.

He felt the stone beneath his fingers, but his practised hold on the Force was slighty thrown off by his foe's pull. The Sith's crimson blade flared inside his guard and while his own now had the same freedom he thought of nothing but getting away.

With a hand and both feet on the stone, he tried to leap backwards up the steps as fast and forcefully as he could. Crouched as he was, he was at least ready to spring and pulled against the Sith's hold, throwing what instinctive force power he could to the aid of his muscles. He was barely aware of a third force user reaching into the mix, but their attack on the Sith was likely enough to disrupt the pull and throw the beast off long enough to increase his odds.

The red blade glanced his free arm as he jumped, the cauterising burn raising a strangled cry through gritted teeth. Without an impact his own blade had fallen low, but now he reversed his hold, swiping up diagonally across his own body as he leapt back, aiming to stall an immediate pursuit.

If he made it free, he scrabbled for the large flat terrace above the steps, turning back towards the ledge even as he kept hurrying backwards, saber up in guard and mustering the Force again.
