Tatooine/hidden pirate base
14:20 local time

Sumas bobbed his head to a song playing over the radio as he sat in the cockpit of the Meteor. His T-visor hiding his face as he quietly sang along with the song. His co-pilot kept eyeing him, still not used to the crazy Zabrak's antics.

The mission was simple. A pirate base on Tatooine was harassing Mining Guild supply lines and just being a general pain in the neck. So being the greedy guy he was, he jumped on the opportunity to rain down some hellfire on the vermin...he hoped it was vermin he didn't work with before.

Another nice addition was the fact that he managed to drag none other than the Alor of clan Kelborn along for this ride. This would make things all the easier.

His scanners were on full alert while his shields were up. He kept a comfortable pace of 50 mglt as he cruised through the air. He was still a ways away from the base, so there was no need to go full-throttle just yet. But his shields and weapons were live in case a pirate ship picked him up. Though he doubted it at this range. But it never hurt to be prepared. "Hey, boss. You reading anything over there?" he asked over the open comm system as he cruised along. He cast a glance around his cockpit and the scanners to make sure there wasn't someone sneaking up on them.

The red right hand of the Morling's cybernetic arm tapped the dashboard of his ship to the music playing over the public broadcast. Normally he just played his own music but Tatooine surprisingly had talent and taste when it came to music. Some of the best jizz he had ever heard was when he was on Tatooine a few years back.

His own vessel was not too far off the wing from Sumas's vessel. The Effervescent was moving at the same speed as the Meteor for the time being. Normally he would wear his beviinir armor when conducting a vessel based strike on an enemy. But seeing as they were actually in atmosphere and in the current locale the Alor of clan Kelborn opted for his more mainstream armor.

He heard Sumas's voice come over the commlink. He tapped a few controls to see if the scanners had picked up anything. "Nuthin yet. Could be the magnetic ore deposits around this area tho that might be causin some interferance. " Of course maybe the pirates had yet to scramble their defenses.

The Jowtharr jumped out of hyperspace a few seconds after the two other ship, and tailed them, covering their backs. Shor hummed a soft tune as he gave a look at the other two ships, a bit of envy sparking in his eyes. Goddammit if these are quite the gorgeous ships the Wookiee thought. Their mission was pretty simple: go on Tatooine and kick some pirate asses that bothered the Mining Guild's interests by plundering their supply lines. Filthy pirates. "Kriffing hyperdrive that likes to make pranks when not expected" he muttered, not realizing that the radio was already turned on. Time passed, and still no one popped on the radar. "Strange... By now they should have jumped on us, from what little I know about pirate tactics. But I may be wrong" the Wookiee said in the radio, of course his translator turned on Mando'a for ease. In case they got jumped on, his ship was ready to fire, since he was accompanied by other two Kelborn clan members that kept the turrets manned.

Sumas sat back as he listened to each pilot's input. "You alright there, Shor?" he asked the wookiee with a laugh. "Might wanna get someone to give your baby a once-over. Tatooine's got some decent mechanics that don't charge too bad a price." he said, looking out of his window at the wookiee's freighter. He turned his attention to the Effervescent as Burkhart spoke up. "Didn't know Tatooine was even that rich in ore. I guess you just need to know where to look." he commented, looking his scanners over again.

Shor spoke up again, voicing his concern over the lack of resistance. "Depends on what we're dealing with. Some pirates can wait until the last minute, others are just too incompetent to figure out what's happening. I hope these are the latter." he said, making sure his systems are all green. "Might wanna button up. We're getting close. No need to get caught off-guard. All systems green this side." he commented.

They were nearing the pirate base. Only a few more minutes and they would be raining hell down on the pirates. It would be suicide, going up against three Mandalorians, But Sumas doubted the pirates were that smart...then again, they have been known to actually possess a brain every now and then.

"Barely worth mining. It's joost magnetic, nuthin particularly rare. Plenty ov othar planets with better ore. This is prolly joost a particularly condensed pocket." He replied. The shield readings looked good. All diagnostics were showing green as they closed on their target. The navigation and targetting system closing in here in the next few seconds.

"Shor, you watch for airborne boggies. Sumas, dumb fire at least one if not two missiles. That and two torpedoes froom your's truely should be enoof." He flicked the firing studs to ready for the proton torpedoes on his ship. The weapons were enough to damage a capital ship and with the combined fire power of the other ship they would devestate the pirate base in one single fast strike. They would not even need to do anything more than a second flyby just to verify devastation. The light freighter the wookiee was using though did not really have anything to puncture the bunker so he was on air to air combat lookout. Just then three blips came up on his scanners. The pirates had three starfighters in te air. "eyes oop. Eer we go!"

Shor barked some orders at his crewmembers to keep an eye for pirates while he observed the large base, humming softly, tapping the console with a finger. As the three fighters popped out on the radar, he roared "Enemies incoming, prepare to engage guys!" and started moving the ship so the turrets had a better line of fire. As the three starfighters approached them, the front turret on his ship started shooting, more to keep the fighters at a good distance rather than actually hitting them.

Sumas listened up as Burkhart gave his orders. As the Alor spoke, the Zabrak activated his missiles and started targeting the base. "Oya." he said simply, gripping the controls of the Meteor tighter. In no time at all Shor picked up some targets in the air. He stayed in formation, trusting his wingman to take out the fighters as he and Burkhart closed in on their target.

When he got in range, Sumas let loose with his two missiles. "Fire in the hole." he quipped as the missiles left the tube. As they neared the base, he opened up with his cannons. The light and medium cannons shredded any essence of ground resistance that might be in the area. With the combined firepower between the two ships, the base would be engulfed in an enormous explosion, reducing it to nothing more than rubble and a small crater. It was to be expected from two ships capable of taking on ships three times their size.

Looking down on his scanners, Sumas glanced towards Shor. "Shor, you need any help with the fighters?" he asked over the comms.

"Use that quad to handle anybody on the ground" He told his crew member, Jaes Kelborn. The Codru-ji would confirmed the order. The ventral laser cannon turret was able to spit out enough firepower that it rivaled most medium laser cannons but also had much faster tracking speed. Any ground based enemies that were outside of the strike zone of the missiles and torpedoes would have to deal with that.

The ion turret on the dorsal manned by Lexi would begin firing at the closest bi-vane starfighter. It lacked any shields and would soon start falling towards the surface of the planet devoid of any damage until it crash landed. The Ion cannons would not damage starfighter but the pilot struggled to keep the bi-vane in for a rough landing.

Burkhart fired off two torpedoes at the bunker. The proton warheads would detonate and whatever direct damage was wraught the following weakened structure would become destroyed even further with the aid of Sumas's missiles. His ship quickly flew past and began banking to come around to assist Shor or Sumas if they were getting harassed by the other starfighters.

Shor clutched on the ship's controls as the turrets fired to hit the two remaining fighters, which were quite faster than his freighter for sure, but less armored. The turrets at first missed them because of their speed, but after a while they adjusted to their foes' speed and a fighter got shot down. "Woo, one to go!" Shor exulted through the radio!

In a few seconds two of the fighters were shot down, but a third still remained. It came screaming at Shor's freighter, but before it could be shot down by the Wookiee or Burkhart it was lit up with cannon and missile fire. Through the fireball the Meteor blasted with a howling Sumas on the comms. "Woohoo!!! I need bigger guns on this baby!" he called out over the comms.

With everything sorted and the job done Sumas slowed to cruising speed once more and messed with the navicomputer. "Tell you guys what. Let's head off to Mos Eisley, drinks are on me." he suggested as he found the coordinates to Mos Eisley and altered course.

"Can't exactly Just fly off without celebrating a job well done." he commented as he flew off into the sunset.

He was going to buy his partners a drink, whether they liked it or not...
