Ambition is defined as the want of a Goal. Ambitious is defined as having Ambition. The current operation could be described as Ambitious. It's Commander, Admiral Aengus Cadeyrn, could be described as having the correct amount of Ambition and Determination to carry it out. As such, he sat in the flagship Harvest Dawn, one of the 6 Carriers in his fleet. Her sister Ship, the Majestic Freedom flew silently beside it in Hyperspace, having taken off from a Nearby system, and her commander was someone Aengus could trust to do his job.

"Admiral, Approaching Coruscant now." the Navigations officer said. Communications between the ships were impossible during this phase of the attack, but it would soon end, and things would be underway.

"Thank you, Captain." He said. "Give me a countdown to Hyperspace Exit."

"Yessir."

On his own monitor, Aengus viewed a countdown of seconds, starting from 20 and working its way down to 0. Once it reached 0, Ninety Republic ships exited Hyperspace all at once in Attack Formation. 6 carriers, 24 cruisers, 30 destroyers and 30 frigates, all ready to fight. The entire fleet was originally massed together in one large Carrier Battle Group, and as such came out of Hyperspace in that aspect.

The six carriers were Together in the center of the group, Protected by the Cruisers, then the Destroyers, and finally the Frigates, thus making Three lines of Defense from all sides for the Carriers, followed by the Defenses of the Carriers themselves. However, the ships were staggered, so that the Destroyers could fire between two Frigates, and anything caught in between the two Frigates could be destroyed by the Frigates and the Destroyer, and all ships were alternating above and below one another, taking full advantage of the Three Dimensions of movement in Space, so as to allow the Cruisers a clear shot at anything beyond their lines with Slugs and Missiles.

Now out of Hyperspace, Aengus examined the Enemy's Defenses from afar, having exited just beyond their weapons' effective Ranges.

"All ships charge the weapons, and prepare to fire. I want a good first volley. Do not Fire until I give the order." he commanded. None of the other ship commanders could hear him, of course, but his Communications Officer relayed his orders to the ships under his command.

OOC: 105 ships. 7 Carriers, 28 Cruisers, 35 Destroyers, 35 Frigates

*All was quiet on the bridge of the Stalwart, when suddenly the tactical officer spun in his seat and shouted across the bridge.*
"Admiral! I'm picking up an incoming Republic force of 40 ships, no 60, now 75, 90 ships. Looks like a full feet, sir."
*Next to the admiral's chair, his captain went pale.*
"Sir," he said, "What are your orders?"
*Slowly, the Admiral rose from his command chair, eyes on the tactical read outs of the approaching fleet.*
"All ships go to red alert."
*Muted alert lights began flashing aboard the Alsakan ships as klaxons howled, crewmen raced to their battle stations, dropping anything they may have been doing.*
"What is the course of the Republic fleet?"
"It, ah, looks like they're coming straight for us, sir."
*Of course. They seek to smash right through our defenses and land their ground forces to recature the planet, the Admiral thought to himself. He nodded at the information, then turned to his coms officer.*
"Communications; inform our ground based forces to evacuate all noncombat personal, then assume battle stations. Also, inform High Command. I image they would like to be aware of this."
*With a smile he turned to his captain.*
"Launch all starfighter squadrons, have them form a defensive screen around the fleet. Hold the bombers in reserve for now, but load them with heavy rockets for use against capital ships. Order the fleet to defense formation. Prepare to fire on the Republic force."
*His captain nodded, saluted, spun on the spot with sharp about face and barked the orders out.*

Captain Heivel's fleet jumped out of hyperspace at Coruscant, distant enough that neither attacking or defending ship had the potential to fire upon each other. 3 Carriers, 12 Cruisers, 15 Destroyers and 15 Frigates composed Heivel's 45-ship battlegroup. They were aligned in a spear-head formation, with carriers in the back, surrounded on three sides (facing Alsakan defenses) by cruisers, then the cruiers were, in turn, surrounded on three sides by destroyers and frigates composed of the outer wall. The ships were arranged so that each vessel had the ability to fire their forward cannons with little hassle from other friendly ships.

An ensign gave Heivel a report. "Sir, Admiral Cadeyrn is in the system."

"Hail his fleet, ensign," ordered Heivel as he walked towards the viewport on the carrier Shining Justice, the flagship of the fleet. "Scramble fighters, but keep bombers in reserve. Bombers are to be ready to be launched on command. Arrange the fighters in standard defensive screen formation. And warm up all weapons systems. Remain out of range until communication with Cadeyrn is attempted."

"Sir! Reinforcements just jumped in!" The Navigations officer called to Aengus from his seat. The Admiral nodded as he stared out into space and at the Alsakans. His fleet was still proceeding forward with no signs of slowing or stopping. If anything, the Alsakans would be prepared for a full frontal assault.

"They're hailing us, Admiral." The Communications Officer said after a moment of silence.

Aengus sat silently for a moment before turning to his Comm Officer.

"Order a complete halt to ships in our fleet. We want to stay out of their range of fire for right now. Separate into Six Carrier Groups and Patrol their perimeter, and scramble our Fighters. If anything's launched at us, let the fighters take it out. Let's keep them on their toes." he ordered before looking out at the Alsakan Defenses. "Then patch me through to the reinforcing fleet."

The Comm officer shouted "Aye, Sir" before relaying the orders. The one, large Carrier group separated into six, just before entering the Alasakan's Effective range of fire. The six carrier groups, then consisted of One Carrier surrounded by 4 Cruisers and Five Destroyers and Frigates each, then stacked upon each other, making two 'rows' of ships. Three on top, three on the bottom, with a fair amount of space in between. Around them was a haze of fighters, patrolling the area around the numerous ships, ready to fire on any missile that may come within range of the fleet.

"You're through, Sir.", the Comm officer told the Admiral.

"Good," He said simply with a smile on his face. The reinforcements were in Spearhead Formation, which was good, he supposed. "This is Admiral Cadeyrn aboard the Harvest Dawn," he said over the Communications link. "Welcome to the battle, Commander. Just who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"

"Sir, we are receiving a communications link with Admiral Cadeyrn," replied the communications officer aboard Heivel's flagship.

"Patch through," the fleet commander answered. "And stop the fleet's advance."
"This is Admiral Cadeyrn aboard the Harvest Dawn," he said over the Communications link. "Welcome to the battle, Commander. Just who do I have the pleasure of speaking to?"
"This is Captain Mathias Heivel of the Shining Justice. Formalties aside, do you have anything in mind for this battle?"

"Sir," his sensor officer said, "More Republic ships exiting hyperspace. I count 45 in spearhead formation. Also, the first fleet seems to have stopped just outside our weapons ranges and are reorganing their formation. The second seems to have stopped advancing as well."

*The Admiarl replied with a simple nod. His eyes carefully examining the new fleet on the tactic screen. It was not moving, neither was the first, nor had they joined up with each other. That left him with an opportunity. One he was certainly going to take. He turned to his captain.*

"All ships to full speed; Bring us onto an intercept course with the smaller Republic force. We'll crush it before the Republicans can join and use their greater strength against us."

*The order went out and the Alsakan fleet suddenly lurched forward. Careful to remain outside the range of the first Republic force to enter the system they moved as fast as the could toward the smaller of the two. Outnumbering the smaller Republic fleet that they were about to engage more than two to one. As they came within firing range every turbolaser and missile turret opened fire, sending a continuous wave of green and orange towards the mismatched Republicans.*

"This is Captain Mathias Heivel of the Shining Justice. Formalties aside, do you have anything in mind for this battle?", the Allied Captain's voice said over the Speakers connected to the Comm. At least they were connected now.

"Just follow my lead, Captain." Aengus answered. His plan was to use a type of Hit and Run Tactics on the enemy. Essentially, he would get in range of their weapons, fire a good volley, then retreat to the safety outside of their effective range, and repeat that attack. Hopefully it would work.

"Admiral, Enemy ships inbound!" The Navigations Officer yelled. Aengus looked to the screens quickly, then to the outside of the ship. Sure enough, the Entire Enemy force was Making for an intercept course with the Reinforcing Fleet.

"DAMN!" Aengus cursed loudly. "Make for an intercept course, Ahead full! Send two of our Carrier Groups to Aid Captain Heivel! Bring us above the enemy fleet! KEEP THOSE DAMNED WEAPONS CHARGED!"

Aengus' orders were relayed quickly to the other carrier groups, and two broke off from the main fleet, heading straight for Captain Heivel's Reinforcing fleet. They were closer to the fleet, so it would make sense for them to reach it first. With the two Carrier Groups went 1/3 of the Fighters, to defend them from missiles and the like.

"All bombers stay on standby." Aengus ordered further, making sure to keep the bombers in all of his Carrier Groups ready to launch at a moment's notice. As the Bombers continued to stay at the ready, the remaining four Carrier Groups Began to make a similar course to the first two that had broken off, however, these went at an angle, to bring them above the Incoming Enemy fleet.

"Am I still patched through to Captain Heivel?"

"Aye, sir."

"Good. Captain?" he said, talking to Heivel again. "Things are about to get Hectic around here. Prepare your crews for a battle, and pray to whatever Gods you have that your Pilots are damn good."

((EDITED DUE TO INCONSISTANCY))

"Will do. The assistance is much appreciated," answered Heivel, seemingly unconcerned that his fleet was in imminent danger. The bridge was in the closest thing one could call chaos: alarms blaring, crew officers running about, relaying information, engineers were at their stations, and the like. He turned towards the communications officer, who was flipping switches across the dashboard in front of him. "Order all fighters to engage the enemy. Ready the bomber squadrons. Realign the fleet into defense formation."

The reinforcing fleet changed formation as the fighter squadrons moved forward to cause havoc within the enemy fleet. It was little more than a means to draw fire away from the mass of 45 ships as they prepared to endure the firepower of the numerically superior fleet. The fleet settled into its new formation, carriers and the heavier ships situated in the middle and the frigates and destroyers surrounding them on all vectors, and shieldings were initiated to starve off the Alsakan assault. The Republic fighters broke off from their participation in the fight, returning to Heivel's fleet amongst the many ships.

As the shields gave way, Captain Heivel ordered all ships to open fire. And so they did.

((I'm a little shaky on whether ships can shoot their guns when the shields are on in this timeline.))

((Along with the Metellos thread, as Raider has vanished, can either another Alsakan take charge or somebody like Bac come and adjudicate what is to be going on here?))

After briefly talking to the Jedi who managed to penetrate the lines of both the Republic and Alsakans, he resumed his watch of the battle above. As he watched, he heard something about his general being briefly incapacitated. While it was unfortunate, it would not stop the Alsakans. So, Van Tien had to take command despite his lack of actual military experience. Fortunately, he had been interested in warfare as a child so he did have some knowledge, it was just unknown whether it would be helpful or not.

Rather quickly, he sent himself up to a capital ship from where he would be able to command the battle. Right up there, the immediate plans of Victor Levon were right there and Van Tien could see the battle situation and plan accordingly.

As he could see, he was heading towards a reorganizing formation which had reinforcements coming towards them. At that point with the speeds and distances, the Alsakan fleet would reach the reinforcement fleet long before the two carriers did and even longer before the other four carrier groups would arrive. Given the reorganization, continuous fire had been applied to the fleet in order to make sure that it was to stay fairly disorganized.

"Prepare to deploy bombers, keep the fighters in a defensive screen, and continue on the current vector with a little more speed." Van Tien said which then got ordered to all his ships.

Not long after he said that, a blast of fire came from the reinforcement formation. While it did disrupt some Alsakan ships, it was far less dangerous than the Alsakan blast had been given that it was with fewer ships and spread out to more ships.

Lavi didn't state whether it was spread fire or concentrated fire, so don't assume it did no damage. Corrdinated fire from 45 ships will do a lot of damage, even to a fleet twice the size, especially if say they concentrate on 10 ships towards the fore of your formation.
As that was all happening, one of the Coruscanti Moons began passing by. The vector of the moon meant that it would soon pass between the initial invasion fleet and the other two fleets in the battle.
No. Just no.

As Aengus' ships finished maneuvering above the enemy fleet, though were still too far off to the Starboard side to be incredibly accurate, his two Carrier groups that had been separated to assist the re-reinforcements came within the best range possible for aiding Heivel's forces. The weapons on all of his ships, including the two Carrier Groups that he'd dispatched to aid Heivel, were still charged and ready to fire. And with the Alsakans closing in, this was a blessing.

"All ships, Concentrate all of your fire on the nearest enemy Vessel! Staggered Volleys! I want a continuous fire rate! Rain hell Upon those Damned Dogs!" Aengus ordered, just as the Alsakans fired a volley at Heivel's ships. "Evasive Maneuvers, Captain Heivel!" He shouted in the the Comm. Hopefully, with the amount of fire pouring into the nearest ship to the Republic Forces, they could take the ships out one by one. As no attacks were let loose upon his own forces, Aengus' fleet was able to open fire ahead of the nearest Alsakan ship, behind it, and directly at it, ensuring no possible escape from the volleys of fire pouring out from his ships. Each shot was almost guaranteed to hit an Alsakan ship, if not the same ship, as they weren't entirely ahead of the Alsakans, and had a ship ahead of the one they were aiming for.

"Admiral, Message from Metellos, sir!", the Communications Officer called. Aengus smiled, certain that it was a message of reinforcements after the Alsakan's crushing defeat at Metellos! He pulled the message up on his own private screen, nodding his thanks to the officer, and read it. Bittersweet though it may be, Any reinforcing Alsakans would be surprised, he was sure, to find a fully Armed and Rested Republic Fleet already engaging their Coruscanti Fleet.

For the eyes of Admiral Cadeyrn.

Despite heavy losses incurred over Metellos, an Alsakan fleet will be arriving at Coruscant. There will be roughly sixty ships, all in working order. Further reinforcements are en route. Forty-five ships led by Captain Wolff should arrive to assist you shortly.

Signed, Captain Olivier de Ridefort.

"Prepare yourself, Heivel," Aengus said as his ships continued on their courses while firing at the Alsakans. "Alsakans inbound. Damaged, I'm sure, tired deffinitely, but Alsakans nonetheless. Reinforcements should be here before the bastards arrive, though." he informed the Captain.

"When the Alsakans get close enough, Deploy your fighters and take out their bombers before they get the chance to make runs on your ships. Get their Formation scattered! If opportunity allows, send one or two of your faster Corvettes into their formation. Get the bastards to fire on themselves and us at the same time! Understand, Captain?"

"Understood. Performing evasive maneuvers." The hastily formed defensive formation began moving, towards the two battle groups heading in his direction, to decrease the amount of time the disadvantaged group has to fight a numerically superior fighting force. The destroyers and corvettes were providing what support they could to draw fire away from the staple cruisers of the standard half-fleet.

A destroyer was lost in the action, and one of the cruisers suffered from damaged engines. If left behind, it would be doomed to destruction. Heivel certainly isn't willing to let it fall without trying to aid it.

"Launch half of the total fighter squadrons at the Alsakan fleet. Primary targets are Alsakan bombers," Heivel ordered. "The rest of the squadrons are to break screen formations and act as anti-fighter support to the maneuvering vessels. Keep scanners open: Alsakan military vessels are expected to jump out of hyperspace from Metellos, damaged from their assault. Be ready to open fire if they arrive close to our position."

In the middle of the gravity well in attack formation in a v-line towards the alsakan ships a white light, the tell tale sign of ships exiting hyperspace shown bright for a few seconds. With that exited the fleet of Captain Wolffe 45 strong and riled from an exhilarating victory at metellos. "All fighters and bombers head out, ships open fire!" Came his order to his fleet he then turned to the control panel and brought up a vid feed from his flag ship The Harbinger to the republic flag ships. "Who's in control of this battle, what's the damage done, and what are my orders?" He asked, always the upfront one in these matters wasting no time with pleasantry as a battle did infact wage before him.

Van Tien saw the two carrier groups coming towards him on the right. As they came into range, Van Tien said "Prepare shields!" which got many of his ships to turn on their shields when the blast of fire came at him. The fire from the small group had been concentrated so it managed to overwhelm the shielding and structure of two destroyers but it hardly damaged anything else as it was heavily concentrated in a few spots.

As that was happening, Van Tien was getting a bit woozy as whatever had taken out the previous general was beginning to work on him. Quickly, he pulled some drugs out his pocket to fix the problem but it just changed the problem and he began seeing things even worse than they had been as he still outnumbered the ships around him.

However, he was a bit delusional and yelled "Retreat! We are leaving Coruscant, drop our leaving messages into Coruscant and go to hyperspace! Ensure that all other fleets and auxiliary ships also return to Alsakan!" Van Tien said in a somewhat odd burst of despair. For his underlings, they called up all the rest of the ships and got them to prepare to go into hyperspace. As as simple precaution, some shielding was put up again for the jump to ensure that opportunistic bursts of fire would not do much damage. Fortunately, both of the other fleets had both done a volley and were not going to put another one into the fleeing fleet for a bit longer.

So then the fleet jumped into hyperspace just as another had just arrived and got to see the fleeing fleet for just a little bit.

There were a few ships that were left behind but they were auxiliary ships were were largely in the business of delivering leaflets. The leaflets were a goodbye message to the people of Coruscant. "Bye people of Coruscant, we are sorry that we did attack the fleet above you and blockade you but we were trying to help you guys out by returning Coruscant to its pristine and healthy origins. If you are given the choice, please advocate for the return of the Alsakans as we intend to bring your planet to great prosperity and health. Bye."
