[Dani Kortex]

Dani Kortex has come to see the Azure Twilight is one of the largest criminal syndicates in the Eastern wing of the galaxy. They rule over most of the criminal underground there and administer a large number of spice mines and refineries. They paid tribute to the Mandalorians, in return they did not get their business stopped, or hindered while passing through their space. Today that ends, they are going to show them that the Mandalorians cannot protect them.

Dani put a drop ship down and came out with her weapons and armour, along with other troops, she was part of a strike team, to take this facility down, and force the dealers to heel. She came down in the team, into the mine. The mines were very stable, and would not collapse even if hit with an orbital strike. So there was no chance of being stuck underground, as they would be unable to collapse the mine.

Her team moved quickly into the mine and started to look for the criminal syndicate leaders, they would be brought under the empire boot, and this zeltron would make sure they enjoyed that boot.

Markov’s arrival was quick and simple; he landed on the closest port to the mines and went down the ramp of his Aggressor ship. He had brought a 2 of his personal guards with him on his ship, which guarded him as he journeyed down, and then another dropship of 16 of his other soldiers deployed and followed behind in a formation.

Entering the mines, Markov secured his weapons on his holster on his heavy armor as they went in deeper. “I want them found. Bring them to me or Dani Kortex; now go and bring them so we can... convince them.. to join the Empire for their benefit,” he ordered as 14 of his soldiers that he gestured at them to leave and go on his ordered. He picked up his comlink and activated it, calling on his comrade.

“Kortex, we have arrived at the mines. We shall be approaching your location very soon...” he said as they soon arrived at their meeting location. He stood beside her as he now waited for the leaders to hopefully show up at their mercy to be swayed by their decision... or by force.

The Empire has laid their boot on the planet, and now it was time to squish and rub it. The syndicate shall fall for the Empire.

[Rud Solus]

When word reached Kessel that the Empire was travelling through the Maelstrom it wasn't that hard to figure out where they were going. This whole rock was only worth it because of the spice it produced and that meant the people that harvested and refined it were obvious targets.

As Mandalorians it was also obvious that they would not protect these people from inside the mines where their typical style of combat was less ideal and thus Rud and his partner (@Gian Greydragon) were posted at some distance from the mine entrance, hidden from the imperial ships. As such Rud was able to observe the landing of ships and the fodder moving into the mines and smiled. The syndicate had plenty of enforcers and booby traps on scene to delay or eliminate imperial troopers..it was up to Rud and Galaar to take out Imperial command and decisively break the morale of the imperial troops.

Rud watched a Sith (@ByakuyaXVTogami) exit his ship through the scope of his rifle. At one hundred meters the Sith was in range for him, but he was out of range of any pistol shots from the Sith. "Eyes on Sith-" he told Galaar, "-you see the other commander?"

 

[Galaar Rau]

"Negative," Galaar replied, plainly, scanning the area in front of the mine, stopping at the entrance. "She must awreddy be in the mine. I say we move now, engage him, and force the commander out of the mine," he said. He stood up from his cover, being 100 or so meters from the entrance of the cave, and engaged flight mode on his jetpack, igniting it, and lifting off to about ten feet in the air, behind the guard tower, out of sight from the Sith, or the Agent that was currently in the mine. He'd wait for Rud to follow suit, and make his way toward the mine.

Dani didn't realize that others were behind them, she, however, held back in the rear of the troops going forward. She heard a noise, sounded like a jet pack. She took cover, in the mine, behind a pile of rocks. She was in cover from the watch tower, and she took up an overwatch position. The imperial troops were more than a match for spice dealers, even if they had traps and other things to try and stop there advance. She would guard the rear, unknown to her she was about a hundred and thirty meters away from @Rud Solus.

Markov was behind his comrade as the loud noise of a jet pack sounded across the area (@Galaar Rau).Hearing this, he tapped into the force, obtaining focus and increasing his senses. Focusing, he noted that indeed there was not one, but two opponents nearby. He didn’t know where the grounded one is exactly (@Rud Solus) at first, but he knew he was distant. Given this predicament, he had now taken cover inside the mine, behind a stone box 4 meters tall. This box was on the opposite wall of @Dani Kortex He drew his lightsaber and ignited it in his left hand, the buzzing sound obvious, but having it down and not visible from the outside of the mine, as well as drawing one of his pistols in his right hand.

He was about 135 meters from @Rud Solus and was ready to deflect anything coming in his path. He wasn’t in firing nor sight range for either of them, both due to his distance and coverage. He couldn’t shoot them either, though. His spot was secure as he waited for their inevitable attack.

[Rud Solus]

"We're in a prime position-" Rud said before Galaar stood up, "-focus fire on the Sith." He knew there was a considerable distance between the Sith he saw through his scope and the mine entrance, approximately 35 meters, and when Galaar ignited his jetpack Rud decided it was time to press the attack. While the Sith (@ByakuyaXVTogami) was busy trying to sense them with the force at 100 meters, Rud fired and with 35m/s it would take three seconds to reach the Sith, but since the latter wasn't looking in his direction and clearly occupied with trying to sense Rud's life essence at 100 meters, he'd be distracted and thus hard pressed to evade the shot.

Knowing that the only cover the Sith really had was inside the mine he had been heading towards, Rud had 25 meters before his medium bolts would hit his target with the power of only light ones. Still he wasn't going to allow the Sith to cover that much ground and his next shot was aimed between the Sith and the mine at the height of his chest. If he wanted to evade that he would need to stop his movement towards the mine. Rud then fired once more, aimed lower to hit the Sith at the height of his crotch.

[Galaar Rau]

Galaar pressed onward, quickly reaching top speed and covering a good 39 meters quickly, and gaining about 35meters in altitude, putting him higher than the lip of the cave, keeping an eye out for blaster although the troops were inside engaging the mine workers. At this height, he killed his jetpack, allowing himself to glide, and drop altitude, just above the Siths' cover, exposing his back. If he didn't move to see the bolts, he would most definitely be struck. With aid from the 2.5x zoom on the Shriek Eagle, he quickly acquired the target on @Markov Aletaus 's back and fired three bolts. He would drop ten meters, and re-engage his jetpack, to slow himself and he came to a stop behind a decommissioned heavy mining drill.

Dani saw the events unfolding from her cover, and in an overwatch position. She told @Markov Aletaus to watch out, and then opened fire on @Rud Solus. She fired at his blaster rifle, she knew where it was as the shot fired out from it, towards @Markov Aletaus. She fired three shots, aimed at where the blast came from his rifle. Though if it missed, they would hit the shooter, in either the face or upper torso. She was happy to be behind cover, and wished her sith comrade was.

His focus of the force was strong as he felt the opponents nearby, but where. Before he could actually go for cover, he heard a call towards him and he sensed danger, especially from the distantly audible blaster shots. This caused him to turn around immediately and as quickly as he could, he ignited his saber in his left hand earlier than he wanted and dodged the shots by moving 1.5 meters to the opposite side of @Dani Kortex ‘s kind of sight. After this, more shots from @Galaar Rau came, all in one angle from above. In order to prevent the shots from hitting him directly, he used his lightsaber to deflect them back at their sender and to possibly hit them.

The deflection exerted some energy, but he would not be affected much. Making a quick move after the shots had been avoided, he looked up at Galaar and before he could re-activate his backpack and have an away to escape, he tapped into the force and made a deliberate and aggressive motion with his free, right hand. A column of aggressive force was sent out in order to force @Galaar Rau downwards towards the ground at a deadly velocity. His focus on it was strong, but he kept his defensive position ready to defend against any more possible shots. Even if he were unable to counter any shot while he was doing the force column, his stance would keep him stable, despite his decreasing energy.

 

[Rud Solus]

Rud had barely registered whether or not his bolts hit true, for blaster fire coming his way had required his immediate attention and the moment he fired his third shot he lifted his rifle and made a short dash to his left. Due to the timing of the enemy shots, Rud caught the first bolt on his chest, but his quick movement caused the other two to miss by a couple of centimeters each. As the bolts were aimed at his rifle, a relatively small object, from a distance of 130 meters, the sidestep to the opposite side as where he had his own rifle had sufficed.

But it wasn't over yet. Rud saw Galaar's movement in the sky and knew that his partner would fire at the same target as per his own order. Thus, Rud fired twice at the Sith's torso. The first would reach him at the same time as he tried to deflect Galaar's shots back at him and would be nigh impossible to dodge seeing as the Sith was so focused on deflecting bolts back to a moving airbone target. The second reached him when he was preoccupied trying to bend the Force to his will in an attempt to overpower the jetpack's upwards motion. The strain, effort and focus this would take him, would once again make it nigh impossible to avoid being hit by Rud's bolt.

The supercommando was painfully aware of his own position and despite the adrenaline making it possible for him to ignore the pain for now, the slightly burned skin underneath his chestplate gave off an off-putting smell. He knew he couldn't take another hit to the chest or it would mean the end of him. Immediately after firing his two shots, Rud therefore dashed to his right and behind the watchtower, putting it between the enemy and himself and thus giving himself some much-needed cover.

Dani saw @Rud Solus shoot at @Markov Aletaus and then begin to move, he was dashing towards the watchtower, where his friend was. She took a deep breath, and steadied her arms, then held her breath, as he made his run for it. She then fired on him, as well as was running, she held her breath as she did. So her aim would be better, and more precise. She three shots at him, once again at his blaster rifle, though if it did miss they still are on target to hit him, due to the angle of attack, probably in the chest. She did not have to worry about being shot at, as they both seemed to be focused on the sit, and only one of them was in range at shooting at her. He was being attacked by the sith crusader, so in no position to attack her. This also helped her target the Mandalorian, as he made a dash towards his comrade in arms.

As Markov deflected the shots from the air, one was quickly being fired at him aiming at his torso as he was deflecting the bolts at Galaar, being audible to his left ear. His focus was hard onto the fight from above, as he twirled his saber in the deflection he spun the curve of his hilt in his hand in a way that the blade crossed his torso, not deflecting, but barely absorbing the first shot, the sparks of it fluttering in recoil. Markov proceeded to continue his actions of driving the now damaged Galaar to the ground at an aggressively quick velocity via the force push. As doing this, another devious shot was fired at his torso once again, where his focus and energy were being mostly used to end the airborne Mandalorian. Hearing another shot, he knew that he wouldn't be able to properly defend against the shot, thus as he was bending the force with his right hand, he decided to tank it by moving his left arm in an blocking angle to take the shot, which hit hard right as The force slammed Galaar to the ground at a dangerous height and speed, guaranteeing very severe injuries, if not, then mortal.

After completing the task at hand and smelling the damage of smoke from the armor of his upper arm, Markov caught sight of the Mandalorian who shot him, as he began to make a run for the watchtower, he made a quick decision in the heat of the battle to pursue his opponent from 100m, making sure to as well stay clear of the shots coming from behind him (@Dani Kortex ). He turned his lightsaber in an aggressive, but defense-able stance, ready to deflect anything coming at him as he regained his focus on the new enemy and his energy surely returning to him. He'd begin to shrink the distance between himself and the standing opponent.

[Rud Solus]

A blaster bolt his Rud's blaster rifle and immediately the supercommando threw his upper body backwards and to the ground. In his fall he saw two more bolts fly passed him. Immediately on impacting the ground, he turned to his left side and watched how Galaar caught his own three bolts and crashed into the ground after a good forty meter drop. "What the-"

In that reprieve, somewhat different than he had imagined, he felt the sting of burned flesh on his chest and the desperation of having a friend fall without being able to do anything about it. Once again there were grounds to question Rud's combat fitness.. first on Corellia, then on Kuat and now here on Kessel. He looked at his rifle and the hole right through the middle of it, rendering it useless. Switching his comm channel, he spoke slow due to the pain that was beginning to mount "Kessel Command this is Badger Three-" he paused until he heard a click from the other line, an acknowledgment. "-Azure Twilight attacked by the Empire. Galaar Rau is down, I'm-" he made a fist with his right hand and smashed it in to the ground in penned up anger, "-I'm coming in."

He got up then and engaged his jetpack into flight mode before he flew off. He'd return later to pick up Galaar's body.

Dani saw @Rud Solus get hit, she thought he was dead, she was wrong. His friend was, however, was, as she saw no more conflict on the topside. So she turned back and looked over her shoulder. The strike team has done its job, as brought up the syndicate leaders. She looked at the Sith, no doubt he will want to give a speech, about joining them or dying. Then if they quibble, she kills them. She did not see the other mando escape, as she waited for him. She realized there was enough of them to deal, with the syndicate. So she moved out to look for the bodies, with a couple of people, she soon found @Galaar Rau and said to the men. Move his body and equipment to the dropship, I want to examine it later. She then looked for the other Mandalorian, she found where he had landed, but he appeared long gone.

She figured he is watching them, some distance away. She just turned and head back to the dropship. She would strip him of his armour, and his weapons. She might even fashion a cup out of his skull, as a gift to the to @Markov Aletaus as present to mark his victory, on this day.

Markov didn’t continue to pursue the Mandalorian, as he began to make communications and then igniting his jetpack. By the time he caught sight of him he was not in the range that he could fire or use the force on him, so he let him run. After all, their battle on Kessel against the Mandalorians had been a victory.

He then caught sight of the body of the Mandolorian that he engaged, which he stared at it for a brief second and decided to not pillage if. After all, it didn’t seem like the Supercommando had anything in particular he could take as a trophy for his kill.

The imperial troopers brought the crime syndicate leaders to Markov and Kortex’s feet quickly. “Give us control of this planet and your syndicate or see you and your comrades fall to the Empire...” he said as he usually would, making sure that they were intimidated into giving in. He looked back at Kortex with an appreciative look; he was glad to have a competent Imperial Agent to work with. He turned back to the leaders after the Agent left to go collect the bodies, which he was fine with. Perhaps he can get a gift of some kind later. He waited for their answer, while only 2 of the 3 leaders didn’t protest. Giving a signal, the troopers executed the protestor as he looked at the two remaining.

“Good... Now you work for me and the Empire... You will be funded and supported by us, but your exports will be forwarded through us... Thank you for your compliance...” Markov said coldly, gesturing to one of his higher ranking guards and a few troopers to keep an eye on them. The group returned for the group with Markov turning the opposite way, calling for his Aggressor Craft. It arrived quickly as he boarded, satisfied with his kill and victory. He showed them that the Sith are still able and can defeat the Mandalorians.
