It was a fact the rebels becoming more familiar with Nar Shaddaa’s tunnels lately. Clad in his makeshift rebel armor Hugo looked down at the other end of the tunnel. With him was a squad of twelve commandos specifically chosen for their demolition expertise. Of course they had a new addition with them, a droid known as H5PAD. Having dealt with the likes of Susan the Duros wondered how this machine will act.

From the reports H5PAD had shown himself willing to work with the Alliance and Ion wasn’t one to turn away talent without any good reason. Taking a deep breath and releasing it he turned toward them and began.

“Stay close and be on your guard Rebels. While the Imps may not be down here but other threats exist here as well. The sooner we destroy this next tunnel the better it is for the cause.”

Tunnel Network – Section 3543/AE
Nar Shaddaa

H5PAD walked through the tunnels on alert with the group of saboteurs. While H5PAD did not like the mission probability of success with no real map of the tunnel system, it was part of the parameters that he was required to deal with

PERSONALITY STATUS: ANALYTICAL

DIRECTIVES
PRIMARY – Support Alliance operations on Nar Shaddaa
SECONDARY – Avoid friendly fire at all costs
TERTIARY – Begin long-term contract negotiations with Commander Hugo Ion

The assassin droid looked over and listened to Commander Ion give instructions. The droid turned down his vocabulator and replied, “Directives confirmed.”

This was the third mission H5PAD had done for the Galactic Alliance. Hale knew that before H5PAD would be allowed to join them, his code would have to be scrutinized, but he was not willing to allow them to change his code. He surmised that once they saw the code in his personality matrix that their concerns would be met. But that was for another juncture in time. There were objectives to accomplish.

Using his motion detectors and active sonar, the droid navigated the tunnels with a fair amount of proficiency. A heavy blaster pistol was slung to his right hip and a medium blaster pistol was slung to the left. His SB-3 sniper rifle was slung over his shoulder. A quartet of grenades were strapped to the back of its belt, along with a stun baton. H5PAD did not move like other droids. His motions were fluid, much like an organic as they made their way down the tunnel to the area they would need to rig the tunnels.

The droid was heavily armed to say the least. Hugo can totally respect that. Though he was surprisedat H5PAD not moving exactly like one would associate with robots. Must be a story behind that one. Saving that thought for another time the commander lead the squad up in front with H5PAD.

Before coming down here Ion made an effort to study the schematics for the Tunnel Network. It paid off in a few minutes when the Duros spotted a set of cables at a right-hand corridor. With a silent hand Hugo directed the team to head for that direction and they complied. Advancing in the new direction Hugo felt a sense of foreboding while he heard water dripping and womp rats scurrying in the shadows around them.

Hopefully, I’m just being paranoid. But best to be on the safe side.

H5PAD continued padding through the tunnel network. The assassin droid could not get an accurate reading on threats due to his motion detectors going haywire from the wampa rats scurrying about, if that was what the creatures were. The tunnel, though curved, made all parties vulnerable to attack, whether it came from the rear or the front, there was very little maneuvering room.

As the tactical picture began to get fuzzy, the assassin droid pulled both blaster pistols. Fortunately for the group, Commander Ion seemed to know exactly where their destination was located ahead. As long as they moved along smartly towards their objective, the risk of encounter would lessen. It was when there was doubt and wrong turns plagued a group, that more time would be spent down in the tunnels and thus more risk.

Covering more of the right flank, the assassin droid moved smartly, aiming his sonar directly ahead of the group in the areas that did not provide the best illumination.
