Toydaria, one of the more major planets of the Galactic Alliance and the homeworld of the Toydarian species. Vardon Galland had never been to the planet before and was quite fascinated by its people and the landscape. It looked like a green marvel from the bridge of the Solange as they approached the planet. Once in orbit, he and his loyal companion Joe Bethersonton entered the Leger and decended to the planet.

The mucky swamps would by hard for most creatures with to traverse but didn't prove to much of a problem for the winged natives of the planet. The forests were, however, more merciful as the solid ground made them more similar to the biomes in which humanoids were usually located in.

Recently, there had been reports of a disease outbreak in one of the smaller villages, Lofram, on the planet's southern side, and a couple of padawans had been dispatched to look into the matter. "No time for a game of dejarik before leaving the ship this time, Joe. I think we're running a little late." the Thyferran said, giving the Leger's pilot a friendly smile before getting up to disembark from the freighter.

Lofram was located in a smaller swamp with a forest just 100 meters to the west. Ten huts surrounded a larger centrally placed hall. Looking around, Galland noticed that the village seemed remarkably empty - most of the small market stalls stood deserted, laundry baskets were left standing unattended on the side of the streets and a couple ghastly looking Toydarians were slowly making their way towards the central hall.

A frown grew on Vardon's face - this looked much worse than he expected. Now, he just had to see if his ally had arrived before they could venture forth into the central building.

Quolon lands his ship, if a little shakily on the only piece of ground he could find where he confident his SP2-Stardancer wouldn't sink below the muck. As he looked around he had to admit he didn't have a burning desire to stay here any longer than necessary. But there was a disease causing troubles for the locals and him and another padawan were sent to help ease the situation. SPeaking of which, as he gets out of his ship he feels a pull on the force the north of his location. Guided by the Force, ensuring him that's his fellow Jedi, he makes his way in their direction.

The journey wasn't long and he sees a tall human male and walks over, ready to greet him. He eyes scan the scene, seeing many of the local people coughing into rags, their eyes and noses red, some with rashes and all looking very sorry for themselves. He can't help but notice he gets a few looks of disdain, apparently this planet weren;t the greatest fan of the Jedi order. However right now they were their only hope of avoiding a pandemic, so they'd just have to grit their teeth and bare it, Quolon thinks to himself. Hopefully once the issue was resolved this could be an opportunity to build more bridges with the natives and the Jedi.

A smile grew on the padawan's lips as he sensed another force user approach. Putting his hands on his hips, Vardon took a deep breath, consuming the fresh air in the relatively small village. On his person, he wore his armour but held the helmet underneath his left arm and had both a lightsaber and two vibroknives strapped to his belt. Additionally, Galland wore a brown backpack containing a couple of bottles of water, a sturdy rope, a compass and a kolto pack. He even carried a recurve bow on his shoulder which he picked up on Jedha and had a few arrowheads stick up out if his bag. Packed and ready to go, he gave the other padawan a wave before starting walking towards the man, meeting him in the middle.

Reaching out a hand for the other to shake, the Thyferran spoke "Vardon Galland, Jedi padawan. The two of us are here for the same reason I take it?" his voice was filled with enthusiasm as he met the Kiffar for the first time, he was also interested to hear the other's name. He would let the other introduce himself before continuing speaking "I haven't seen much of the locals, just those two." he said, but refrained from pointing at them since they just entered the great central hall, slamming the door behind them. "I fear that whatever disease it is that has struck this town, it has been allowed to fester for far too long." The two allies would speak on their way to the great hall until they eventually arrived.

An angry looking Toydarian could be seen looking out at them through the window from the central building. He turned around and soon, the quiet mumble which could be heard from the house went eerily silent. The large port had two doors and was at least four meters tall. The padawan looked up towards the top of the doors whilst putting his right hand on the left handle and looking over to his ally "It doesn't seem like we're too well liked here, does it?" he asked. After having listened to his allies response, Galland would push down the handle on the door and enter the expectantly waiting people inside the quiet hall.

He feels the connection to the force more and more as he gets closer. He sees the outline of an armoured male Jedi, not only equipped with a lightsaber but vibroblades as well. Quolon had never considered adding to his own arsenal, he thought armour would weight him down and the Force and his blade were the only things he needed. Quolon has his own pack of essential supplies. "Quolon Dox, Jedi padawan" He shakes his hand firmly. "I believe so" He replies, his voice as warm as his smile.

He listens to his words as they make their way to the hall.
"Let's hope we can cut it off at its source and treat the sick, this could be an avenue for good relations between the Toydarians and the Jedi". He looks at the man before entering "No, but let's try to change that" He smiles, staying positive despite the negative opinions. They enter the hall together.

What greeted hem were rows and rows of Toydarians, several of whom turn as the pair enter, faces like stone. It seemed to be a sort of town meeting, most likely about the epidemic. An elderly Toydarians stands at the front and addresses the cohort, seemingly keeping his gaze away from the Jedi. He speaks slowly, his voice gravelly and rough. He glides back and forth on the wing, Quolon supposes this is the Toydarian equivalent of pacing. His skin sags and the blue colouring seems to have faded into grey.

"This disease has ravaged our people. The medical facilities are overwhelmed, we do not have enough supplies to treat everyone. People are dying." This is followed with gasps from the other Toydarians. "There is a strict Quarantine, if you exhibit any of the symptoms or suspect someone of having the disease you are obliged to report to a medical centre. This is very contagious and you may be putting other people at risk if you do not observe the Quarantine." He continues for a few more minutes until, for the first time, his gaze settles on the two Jedi and he opens his mouth to speak.

After having entered the building, Vardon listened to the Toydarian tell his people of their situation and how to act. The community seemed well organized which could only be seen as a good thing as it would make it easier to handle the disease that was spreading. But then, the current state of things did seem rather grim. Compared to the size of the hall and the number of seats, they seemed to be much fewer in numbers compared to what was normal and several people either seemed sad or absent-minded.

Both padawans watched in silence as the elder spoke. The humanoids didn't blend into the background very well and were noticed after just a few minutes. At first, the leader produced a curious look before spotting a lightsaber. A frown grew on his old wrinkled skin, clearly broadcasting his disdain for the force users for everyone to see. The others, however, didn't seem to be as quick, at least not all of them as a majority still had a rather blank expression. "Jedi" his voice was a like a low howl - if the others were indifferent towards the two rebels before, they certainly didn't seem to be very fond of them now as more joined the frowning group.

"What are you doing here? Don't we have enough problems already? Do you really have so little to do that you're coming here to pester us?" he asked, not giving them a chance to respond before firing away another question. Vardon weren't slow to respond "We've been sent here to help you fight the disease." he said, trying to explain their mission without provoking the man. Alas, it didn't seem to work "Bah! You? Help us? Noooo, you're just here to preach your message, to make us subjects to your philosophy. You people may not be Imperials in name, but truly, you are imperials at heart." Galland was a little surprised by how the village leader viewed the Jedi and how much he disliked the Jedi philosophy - something which the padawan viewed as a rather simple truth. He looked to his ally, hoping that one of them would come up with a good response.

Quolon shifts a little uncomfortably in response to the turned heads and disdainful looks in their direction. Although there didn't seem to be a majority of negative opinion, perhaps they knew we were here to help. He meets the elder's gaze as he speaks directly to them. He turns as Vardon speaks, feeling his face redden a little and his temper rise at his berating. "If I may, you seem to be in a pretty bad way, and we're required to help." "Help! We don't need your help, the Toydarians have survived worse than this without any help from you jedi" He spat the last word as though it was an offensive curse. Quolon has half a mind to tell them to deal with the issue themselves and offer his services to someone more appreciative, but the troubled gazes of some of the townspeople told him to stay.

"You listen to your people, no? If they do not want our help either, then we'll go. At least ask them." His voice has a bit of an edge to it, but the rooms seems to respond to his request, and whispers spread throughout. He gives a nervous smile to his companion. The elder seems to give a low growl, but he seems to know that he must listen to his people.

Looking to his fellow padawan, Vardon nodded along as the other spoke. The Toydarians did indeed need help, it was obvious for anyone to see. Perhaps not to the seemingly proud leader himself - but despite the anti-jedi sentiments in the building, many realised the truth of the matter. The elder didn't take Quolon's words in the way Galland thought he would and even went on to take it as some kind of insult. The Thyferran looked upwards and thought "The light shall see me through." as if in silent prayer. After taking a heavy breath, he looked back down, first to return a smile to his companion and then to look at the elder Toydarian intently as Quolon continued to push the man to allow them to provide the village with aide.

The elder, whom's grumpiness could be detected both by the blind and by the deaf looked out over his remaining healthy people. It was plain as day that they were in a rather desperate situation. The man rubbed the bottom of his chin whilst considering what to do. A grunt and a pointed finger later, he spoke "hmmmh, I see you are trying to turn us against each other. Typical Jedi tricks." he said before turning around dramatically to face his fellow townsfolk. "You know what to do if you are sick. This meeting has ended, go about your tasks." The meeting was over - he had ended it before anyone got the chance to question his authority and the attendees were leaving the building. From the looks of it, the two Jedi weren't welcome to stay either.

After having exited the building, a young Toydarian could be seen in the distance, obviously wanting to draw the attention of the two padawans discretely. "What do you think? Maybe she's got something better to say than 'Begon, filthy Jedi'" Vardon said lightheartedly with a smirk before starting to walk towards the alien in the distance. Upon reaching the youngster, she quickly spoke to them in a hushed voice "My brother is sick, very sick. You need to help us. The disease has swept through this area before, and we used to gather the purple Polionus flowers from the woods. They're rare, but we can usually get a few and the other ingredients to the potion are all easy to come by. But our scouts haven't returned and the elder is refusing to send out more people blindly" Her voice was desperate, pleading as she blurted out all she seemed to know. It seemed as if Quolon had at least been able to convince one person of their good intents while inside the meeting.

Quolon was annoyed. He could see his people were in desperate need of help, yet his pride was getting in the way of their safety. He nod at his companion, and pauses when the youngster begins to speak. "Then it's settled, we're more inclined to listen to the people in need of help anyway" He smiles at the child. He'll soon seat his words when he realises that he needed their aide to avoid the population being decimated. "What do these flowers look like, child?" "They're big, purple flowers usually growing in the shade and close to the ground. They have big petals" He smiles at her. "We will find your flowers, and let us know if anyone else needs help. Spread the word that if the people are in need of aide, then us Jedi are here to help"

She gives a small smile and flutters away. He turns his attention to Vardon. "Into the woods, it seems!" He beams, his spirits lifted by the prospects of adventure and helping others. They set off in the direction of the woods and soon they are surrounded by trees. Quolon was on his guard, the girl had said some scouts hadn't returned. There must be a reason for that, who knows what sort of creatures roamed around.
